It’s **tempura** some sushi! Puns are hard. We went on a Wednesday night, so there weren’t many folks, so service was swift as a mongoose. Pricier than many competitors, but was pleased with the quality. The shrimp dumplings were dum-lightful! They actually were pretty dope, get them :)

Food is mediocre for the price. The«ahi tower» wasn’t even a tower. No attention to presentation. For the price, we expected more. We came at opening, and the place was fairly empty– now we know why. Of all the sushi places in town, this is one we won’t return to.

I can’t believe I haven’t posted a review about this place… I really love Reikyu, while I don’t think they have the best sushi selection out there, their spicy salmon roll is one of the best ones I’ve had in Dallas. I love how this place is not usually packed, so it’s the perfect place to come in and enjoy conversation with friends. Tina, our server, was AMAZING. She was the sweetest girl, quick and informative. The menu item that keeps bringing the fiancé and I back is their calamari salad. I don’t know what kind of magic they use to make this dish, but it is the most amazing thing in the entire world. One thing I wasn’t a fan of but the fiancé seemed to like was their fried rice, it had an odd sweet after taste that I just wasn’t the biggest fan of. However, because of their calamari salad and Tina, I’m giving this place 5 stars. Love love love Reikyu, your calamari salad is my spirit animal.

So, we kinda picked this place last minute because we were hungry and indecisive about where and what to eat. We thought it couldn’t be too bad since the notion is when you’re hungry, just about anything will taste good. But we were so wrong. Maybe the first thing that we should’ve noticed when we walked in was there wasn’t a single Asian person in the restaurant except the servers.(Probably a bad sign for a Japanese restaurant). Right off the bat, looking at the menu. Prices are kinda ridiculously high. We paid about $ 60 + tip for two people. What we got was just a $ 125-piece tuna tar tar that was barely any fish and what seems like re-fried potato chips. 2 rolls, that were like half the size of what normal Japanese restaurants serve, and a very bland chicken fried rice that was made for a kids meal. For what we paid for, the value was definitely NOTTHERE. All in all, very disappointed in the food, the portions, the choices of rolls(they barely had any rolls with sashimi in it, but still charging $ 18/roll??) We left still hungry and a piece of the wallet gone to a very undeserving«Japanese restaurant».

Prices are high at this restaurant but if you come during lunch time the prices are the same as what I’ve seen at other Japanese restaurants for lunch. There is a lot of food included in the lunch specials. My friend got the Japanese Curry and this entrée is enough to feed two people. It comes in a big bowl and is styled like a giant soup dish. I got the Sushi Lunch special which comes with miso soup as well as 7 different types of sashimi AND8 California rolls. Not only was everything delicious but I was so full I still had several pieces left. Location is sweet as you can’t go wrong in Mockingbird Station. Final thoughts are to come for their lunch hour as I think their dinner menu is overly priced!

This place has the freshest sushi I have ever tasted in US. The place also has great ambiance and the food is actually reasonable. It is our must eat every time we are in town!

Went for dinner on a Saturday night. The prices here are a bit high but the food was good/fresh, nice presentation, attentive staff, nice ambience. Will return due to the location.

Was around in the area shopping when JR and I decided to take a break for an early dinner… We were craving sushi so we sat out on the patio of Reikyu. It was about 5:30 pm and pretty empty. The chefs looked so bored sitting down on their phones and I think there were about 3 or 4 other people dining in. Ordered the dumplings as an appetizer(comes with 5 dumplings for $ 8)… Looked over the menu and decided that everything there was WAAAAY overpriced so we paid out and left. I mean… waaaaay over priced. $ 18 for a roll I can get for $ 12(or probably even less) anywhere else? Granted, the dumplings we ordered were great and I really enjoyed the plated sauce and salad it came with but I couldn’t fathom paying so much money for generic rolls and sashimi I can get anywhere else for MUCH cheaper. I’m actually surprised people are paying so much for the generic caterpillar roll… Spider roll… Tuna tower… Etc. these are not specialty rolls that are specific to this restaurant. You can go to any sushi restaurant and find the same«caterpillar roll» and«spider roll» with the same ingredients…

I haven’t been here in over four years, so it was nice to come back for some old times. However, I doubt I will be going back again. There are other sushi restaurants in town with the same or better prices, yet, better quality food.

I’m a bit biased since my aunt and the owner are friends. We do get special treatment/service when we come, so not going to lie about my review. I am aware that the prices here are outrageous compared to other sushi places. BUT, I also feel you have to account for this location. Mockingbird Station’s property value is very high and I’m sure all owners will have to charge more to compensate for the expensive rent. I have been here more than 5 times, always(except once) with my aunt. Mark(owner) pretty much makes whatever he wants for us, but since I don’t eat raw fish, he cooks a steak dish for me. I really like the seats and the layout of the restaurant. It is not crowded with tables so close together. The food here is always fresh and the presentation is always on point! I have been here for lunch and dinner and typically lunch is very quiet. Apparently he has opened the restaurant early for my aunt before, so that’s probably why it is quiet. During dinners, there are a bit more people, but my aunt just calls Mark ahead of time to tell him a group of 10 of us or such are coming and he sets a table aside for us.

Came here with my friend after getting our nails done across the street. The servers were friendly but it took forever for us to get our food! The restaurant wasn’t that crowded but it took like 30+ minutes for a small order for 2. Thr sushi was pretty good but not the best I’ve had. Overall decent sushi for a decent price.

This place has one of my favorite rolls — the crawfish volcano. It’s so good, I have never ordered anything else for an entrée. The dumplings appetizer is pretty good as well. They come with an interesting citrus sauce. The service has been good every time I’ve been here, no complaints there. If this place wasn’t so expensive, I’d give it 5 stars and come here at least once a week. But, my wallet wouldn’t appreciate having an $ 18 roll that often.

Some of the sushi is really pricey, but for lunch I went with the beef bento box lunch special. Great food and more than enough portion-wise. Miso soup, good ginger salad, Teriyaki beef, 4 pieces of sushi, tempura battered shrimp, broccoli, onion, and sweet potato, and a side of rice… Only $ 13.50

Food was ok. Ordered a roll and edamame. Also got the crème brûlée trio which was good. Not the best sushi place but not the worst either. Don’t think I will be back though as there are better options.

Have now visited this place 4 times… we will NOT go back! First let me say that our server was very nice, except for the fact that she CONSTANTLY says«I’m sorry» for EVERYTHING. I kid you not! I keep thinking each time I go that I didn’t like it because i just didn’t order correctly. I’m not a difficult person to please when it comes to Sushi… give me some raw salmon/tuna on a plate and I’m a happy girl!!! My boyfriend, on the other hand, is a roll kind of guy. Don’t get me wrong, he LOVES a good plate of Sashimi like me; but he likes rolls too. The spicier, the better for him. With that said, my sweet man ordered the«On the Border» thinking it would have a little kick to it. I am NOT a spicier the better kind of person and I ate this roll with no issues with heat. Most all of their rolls are«California Roll topped with xxxxx» … seriously?!? California Rolls are for beginners. I ordered the White Dragon just because I LOVE the Super White Tuna… total disappointment. The roll left EVERYTHING to be desired #fail. Let’s move on to their sushi … bricks of yummy vinegered rice topped with a thin slice of your favorite raw fish right!!! Ok, let’s just be REAL … the Sushi we received… my son has bigger lego blocks than these #EPICfail! Moving right along to the Sashimi. you would think that paying $ 15 for a plate of yummy, buttery sashimi would come with a nice cut of this fabulous delicacy … NOPE. WRONGAGAIN … #COLOSSALepicFAIL … the slices of Sashimi were as small if not SMALLER than the slices that were on top of the aforementioned Sushi. They did offer us a bowl of Miso soup while we had to wait approx 20 min for the Dragon Roll to be constructed, can’t figure this one out, as we were two of only 10 people in the place … Needless to say, our bill was $ 61 and for WHAT?!? A very disappointing, 4th and LAST visit to Reikyu.

Pretty basic sushi. For the portions they give you, the price is high. I had sushi lunch which was $ 12 for a california roll and 6 or 8 pieces of sushi and miso soup. Everything was so small… I ate an hour before coming here and I was hungry again in two hours… The sushi was also dry, but the rice tasted great! Sometimes I complain about having too many options, so they really made it easy for me having so little options, haha. They had one waitress serving the entire restaurant during lunch and she was running around everywhere! Looked quite shocked every time I had a question. I would be the same if I was taking care of so many tables at once.

This is still my favorite place for sushi, but now it’s also my favorite place for crab cakes. The appetizer has two super tasty cakes that come out on a fantastic salad of mixed greens, strawberries and a sweet dressing. We also had the Nine, Hollywood, Philadelphia and Avacodo rolls. They were all fantastic. It was more food than two gals should ever eat, but we couldn’t leave a man behind. We ate everything! Rolled out fat and happy! Great service and good prices. Love love love this place.

By far my favorite sushi place in Dallas! When I say sushi I mean real sushi, not California rolls. If you are the type to order California rolls, hunny I hate to tell ya but that’s not sushi. You might as well go in and ask for tacos! The waitresses are always so friendly. When you walk in the door you’re always greeted with a friendly hello. Their menu has a good amount of things on it but I never order off the menu. Sit at the sushi bar and tell the guys a few things you like and let them have at it! This last time they made me a fried jalapeño roll. It was amazing! They also made me tuna nachos. Again, amazing! Spicy but a little tangy. Their sashimi is always wonderful. Everything seems so fresh. The unagi is probably my favorite item. I can never go in and not order at least one piece of it. The owner Mark is there most times and is so friendly. If you get the chance, ask him to make you something. He’s so creative with the flavors of things he puts together. I promise you’ll love everything he makes. This place by far surpasses every other sushi place in dallas. Its always my sushi dinner night go to!
