Preface: Business dinner so I didn’t worry about value for money… Nick and Sams is easily found off Preston road. Friendly and efficent valet service, and then you’re inside a beautifully appointed space with a bar on the right and private rooms in the back. Appertizer wise, calamri was a winner, crispy and flavorful. Other apps were uninspired and I didn’t even remember the names. Decent wine menu, didn’t look at prices, but enough selection to keep us entertained throughout the night. They had a special presentation on their meats, looked amazing. I got the 30oz special tomahawk ribeye… Was not impressed. It was tender, but lacking flavor. And the outside may have been too crispy. Other people who had filet found their overcooked. Side order of szechuan fried rice was sweet… So odd. Oniin rings were good though. Other sides were decent, but nothing memorable. Service was good and attentive throughout the night. Desserts were the bright spot, amazing desserts all around. Creamy but not too sweet cheesecake was perfect. Nutella bread pudding was amazing. And chocolatr molten cake was decadent. I’m sure if I paid for dinner, it would be a much lower review, but overall, it was a good time!

This Nick and Sam’s is different from the other one that was recently closed down. Womp! We tried to make it to brunch, but missed it by 30 minutes. They started serving the dinner menu and noting looked too appetizing. We had an order of the calamari and it was the BEST calamari I have ever had. And the tater sauce was to die for. This Nick and Sam’s is more like a steak place. Kind of different than the other place.

I’ve drive past Nick & Sam’s every day on my way home from work but have never had a good idea of what it’s like from the street. It’s one of those restuarants that are hard to tell if it’s busy or not. But it’s really close to home so we finally took the plunge and checked it out. In summary, we had a number of different items for our meal and enjoyed most of our dishes. The hostess was pretty rude and not in a great mood, she was pregnant so maybe that had something to do with it. Not a great start to dinner. But after we got settled in, things got a lot better. The restaurant has a nice setup with huge windows and lots of natural light. Further back are more dimly lit tables for those that want that romantic vibe. Our server was very attentive and had no attitude, we gave him a big tip for his service and his recommendations. Let’s see, for appetizers we had the Lobster Mac N Cheese and it was really good. You can taste the chunks of lobster. Also ordered a plate of crispy calamari, again quite good. For dinner, we both started with a salad. I ordered a watermelon & feta salad, which I’ve never heard of and was kind of skeptical but it was really good! Very refreshing and tasty and not in a typical watermelon way. We also had a Caesar salad which was also very good. Mains included 3 different sushi rolls, some were quite good, one was not that old but I can’t remember the names. And we also had a meat lovers wood fired pizza, again quite good. I was going to order a steak but was pretty full that night. I’m glad I didn’t because we were absolutely stuffed. Our appetizers were pretty filling(and good), along with our salads and main courses. Overall, I was full but the meal wasn’t heavy so it was perfect. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience and will plan on being back.
