This place is charming. The perfect Friday night date night pizza and wine with a unique ambience. We ordered a large pizza, salad and wine for $ 60. Their pizza comes in two crusts original and thin. We got thin and split the largest size. Eating every drop. My husband, the pizza snob, didn’t think the pizza was necessarily anything special but I think a lot of what you’re paying for is an experience. We were well served and checked on by cheery staff. Overall, a great experience.

The one star is for the nice/prompt delivery service from POSTMATES.(have you downloaded the app? If not, do so – it’s the Über for restaurants). But this isn’t a review for a delivery service. This is a negative review for the horrible pizza we received from Olivella’s. It was undercooked and unevenly placed ingredients. They were all slopped on the inner diameter of the pie, making the slice bend limply in half and canned ingredients slide off the piece. I got the chicken pesto pie, and hubby got the sausage/mushroom. The cheese tasted«off» and more of a white cream(think velveeta) versus true mozzarella. Husband thought it was sour cream. For real. Oh, and the meatballs ordered as an appetizer reminded me of the high school cafeteria quality on a bad day. I almost never write bad reviews, and was hesitant to write this one. But, in an effort to save you from disappointment, BEWARE.

To start, the atmosphere was super cute! I loved the rustic ambiance, it was a great vibe for my girls night after our workout class, however, my group thought the the tables were a bit too close together. We got the meatballs and man they were delicious! The order only comes with 3 and since there were 4 of us we were easily able to add an extra. We split the Nordica which was delicious, its pretty basic and the salad dressing is not mixed in, but it is still good. We also got Burratta salad which the cheese was amazing, but it was literally just cheese and arugula, we still ate it all, but I wish there was more to offer. For this location on Tuesday they have a HALFOFFALLBOTTLES deal. It’s amazing!

Good pizza. Sangria was interesting; had a little bit of spice/cinnamon flavor and didn’t have fruit in it. Not bad, just different. Caesar salad was average but large enough that could be shared by as a starter among four people. Our server seemed to be slightly new to the whole waiting-tables thing, but was obviously trying really hard and a mix up with one of our pizzas resulted in some prompt attention from the manager and a free(and quite delicious) dessert! Will return if we’re in the neighborhood.

Got the olivella salad. Dressing was super tart and very light on the Gorgonzola. Just ok. Then out came the pizza roll. Now they’re on to something. This thing was delish would order again!!! Then we ordered the dream pizza. Metro crust. It was ok but again sparse on the gorgonzola. It was ok. We still love Enos pizza best. Hard to beat.

Awesome pizza and excellent service. Even though the place was packed we never felt rushed, our food was ready quickly, and our drinks were never empty. Love that we got our leftovers packaged in foil ready for the oven instead of a giant box.

I love the new Spinach and Buffalina pizza! The chocolate salami was really tasty. The wine is way better now. I’ve read some of these reviews and don’t understand what the issue is. My servers there are always so pleasant and on top of my order. Don’t let these first timers dissuade you from trying this gem in Lakewood.

I LOVE Olivellas pizza. I normally go to the original location on McFarlin Blvd, it’s such a magical little pizza parlor & so very romantic at night. However, if your hangin with a group/friends the Lakewood location proves ideal as it has tons of parking, a super chic, clean & casual interior space with a YUGE patio! It also has a bigger bar area where you can sit & watch all the action taking place. Many years ago I used to live in Lakewood & love the area. The Lakewood Olivellas did not exist back then or I def would have not moved away lol. Recently, my BFF, Gigi, called me & told me she was moving to Lakewood from Ft Worth so her daughter could attend SMU nearby. Not knowing the area, she ask me to show her around & wanted to meet me for dinner in the area. Of course I said, «let’s meet up at Olivellas!» Turns out she bought a house only a couple blocks away(I will be staying over often she just doesn’t know it yet) ha! :)) It was suppose to be just us girls but my hubby was holding a conference across town, got done early, heard Olivellas pizza was involved so he was all in. Gigi’s hubby was teaching a class across town & heard pizza was involved so he decided to pick up their two kids & meet up with us! Lol It was a Pizza bonanza! We got the dream & Shocker. it was2.die.4. as usual. The kids ordered pizzas I would have never thought to order, pepperoni & artichoke? Hua? A little strange I thought, until I tasted it! O.M.Gawd! Who would have thought such a simple combo would be so YUM! I thought I didn’t even like pepperoni?! Kids are smarter than you think ;) The pizzas were super stars! So beautiful & artfully prepared the whole table was taking pics of them. The wait staff was holding lights up from their phones so we could all get a good pic! In fact, the whole staff was super cool about our mass photo shoot. The service overall was super friendly & fun. We had a blast & closed the place down. It’s a pizza joint after all, it’s suppose to be fun! That’s what the vino is for! I’m happy to report that the Cecchi Chianti is still on the menu. LOVE! That is my fave one :)‘ Also, my BFF Gigi got the biggest grilled chicken salad I have ever seen! It was super fresh & full of all kinds of yummy stuff. She tried like hell to finish that thing & couldn’t. She kept saying she was half bunny & kept noshing on lettuce nonstop. That was the only time I have ever seen her silent Bc normally Gigi talks your head off, guess it was really good :)’ We started off with the fresh made burrata. It was so soft & velvety creamy. WOW. Served on top of fresh arugula along side a few sliced Roma & cherry tomatoes with a balsamic basil pesto sauce on the side. Perfection. My hubby got the eggplant Parma. This version is not fried, it’s grilled fresh & very light served with a Marzano tomato sauce & provolone cheese. All gone. We ate everything. We wanted to try the chocolate salami for dessert but we were all so full we decided to try it next time. Now, Olivellas is their fave pizza place in DFW too. So we made a PAC that there will be many more next times as we have decided to meet up at Olivellas at least once a week & then go dancing after. Yep, pizza & then the Cici & Gigi show. That’s the way we pizza & roll ;) Highly recommend.

Enough has been written about the food, which I thought was absolutely average, so I’ll focus on the logistics. Great patio if the weather is nice. But do not come here if you’re gathering a group. The small dining room provides a few two-top tables along the Windows and several four-tops in the middle of the room, as well as dining at the bar, but there’s only one six-top in the corner. And curiously, they claim not to be able to put tables together or add a chair at a table. So keep your dining plans small. Plenty of free parking in the large shopping center lot. Very young, busy wait staff. Atmosphere is very casual but cozy. But the dining room is loud. There’s no discernible background music, which was good since just the conversations of the diners bouncing off the wall was already too loud.

Want a place to get away in East Dallas and enjoy a night of Napoletana pizza? Then go here. The food is beyond tasty and satisfying. The patio makes this a very relaxing place, but so does sitting inside or even up at the bar where you can watch the pizza’s being slipped around in the brick oven. I’ve never had a bad meal and I always fail at taking the planned left overs home as I eat them there. It is great for a date or a small party of pizza loving guests. Give it a try and see if you agree!

Whaaaa? I haven’t reviewed Olivella’s? Well, let’s remedy THAT. I really like Olivella’s. There’s a cool atmosphere that is laid back, a lil’ rustic italian chic and there’s a huge kick ass patio. Last Wednesday we stopped by for dinner, hongry for a differnet pizza joint. For an appetizer, we got their new cheesy dip with bread. Get that when you go. For real. It had spinach and artichoke and cheese… not really artichok-ey at all, just really savory. I dug. There are two types of pizzas– a round style or a metro style. The metro is larger and more oval and you can do ½ and ½ on those. We got ½ black truffle(omgz) and ½ «the dream». The black truffle had mozzarella, speck(ham), mushrooms, truffle oil and black pepper. Yum. The Dream had mozzarella, gorgonzola, chicken, bacon, and jalapeño. It was a perfect compliment to the savory black truffle. Wine is ½ price on Tuesdays. The wine list is pretty $$$(J Lohr, which you can buy for $ 10 at Total Wine) was $ 35– so take advantage of that deal on Tuesdays. Also there are great Sangria specials, but it’s earlier in the evenings. Olivella’s has been round for a hot minute and I can see why, it’s yum.

This Olivella location was just as great as the previous experience I had at the victory park location! The service here is impeccable. Our servers were kind & always made sure we were taken care of, and of course my favorite… The truffle pizza was just as amazing as I remembered it to be :) its definitely a hit here. My girl friends loved it too! The girls & I sat out on the patio, which was beautiful with hanging lights, comfortable seating and space. I can’t quite remember exactly all we had(see pictures, it was a lot) but everything was spot on and delicious. I haven’t had a pizza here that I wasn’t completely satisfied with, yet. Can’t wait to be back!!!

Maybe you’re thinking to yourself, where can I get some really mind-blowing pizza? Where can I get that delicious combination of chewy crust, artisan cheese and delicate flavors that I crave? Well look no further. You found it. After we tried(and enjoyed) their Victory Park location, the owner of Olivella’s reached out and offered me and my boyfriend a free tasting at their Lakewood location. I didn’t know what that entailed, but I’m never one to turn down free pizza, so on a warm Wednesday evening we arrived at the Lakewood location and were greeted and shown to a table on the patio by Christina, the nicest server you’ll ever have. And their patio is lovely. Strung with twinkling lights and cooled with misters, it’s set far enough back from Mockingbird lane that you hardly notice the passing traffic(especially after your pizza arrives and takes all your attention!) Our meal began with focaccia. A dense, chewy flatbread spread with a layer of flavorful pesto, topped with crumbled, creamy goat cheese and sundried tomatoes. There was a side of rosemary olive oil for dipping or drizzling, but it didn’t need it – this focaccia stood on its own. We were planning to pace ourselves(we knew more food was coming) but we couldn’t do it. We ate the whole thing in record time. It was that fantastic. Next came the main course, two beautiful pizzas; the first, a regular(Neopolitan style) White Truffle(mozzarella, mushrooms, truffle oil, sundried tomatoes) and the second, a Metro(Roman-style, thin crust) that was half Snow White(mozzarella, ricotta, oregano, garlic, olive oil) and half Regina Margherita(mozzarella, sauce, parrano cheese, basil). What can I say about these amazing pizzas? They blew us away. We started by trying the White Truffle, and I have to say it was best crust I’ve had on a pizza in Dallas, hands down. Fresh and chewy with just the right amount of crunch. The truffle oil added a brilliant and unique flavor, while the sundried tomatoes made the fresh mozzarella really pop. Next we dove into the Metro pizza. The Regina Margherita was a personal favorite. While the crust here is much thinner than on the Neopolitan style pizza, it’s not so thin as to be cracker-like, meaning it still has that level of chewiness that I love. The basil and tomato sauce were SO fresh tasting, I think I made an involuntary«Mmmmm!» sound as soon as I bit into it. The flavors just explode in your mouth. And the Snow White was a chance for the house-made mozzarella to really shine – accentuated by the lack of sauce and by the additions of garlic and subtle ricotta, the mozzarella excels. I don’t know if I care to admit this, but here it is: we ate all of these pizzas. Every last bite. I don’t know how we did it, we just couldn’t bear to stop! And finally, the crowning glory, the dessert pizza: Nutella and peanut butter spread thin over a cracker-thin crust, topped with delicately sliced pears, crumbled walnuts, perfectly toasted marshmallows, and powdered sugar. We were in heaven. I don’t think I’ve ever had a dessert pizza in my life, and that’s sad, because now I know what I was missing. Sweet tooth nirvana. With this tasting, Olivella’s was giving us a chance to see if they really live up to the hype of the«best pizza in Dallas». Based on this visit, I would have to say that they do.

Having eaten at nearby Cane Rosso and Grimaldi’s several times we came here for a change of pace and while we enjoyed our meal it wasn’t enough to veer us away from the old staples. Sorry Rachael Ray, but this isn’t the greatest pizza you’ll ever taste, unless you normally eat Ci Ci’s, Pizza Hut and Dominos. Otherwise their Roman and Neapolitan pizzas are tasty, but far from the country’s best that some critics have claimed. If someone from NY, Chicago, Boston, heck most cities in the country read this, most likely they’d be shocked. This thin style pizza is a strong average, and no one will complain that it’s not good, but raving reviews are exaggerated. Three of us ordered the spaghetti and meatballs(and actually one ordered just meatballs). The verdict was mixed. While one of us thought the meatballs were very good, the rest of us weren’t thrilled. In fact, the spicy marinara sauce was bland and lacked any flavor. Again, average pasta, at best. The salads, on the other hand, were worthy. You’ll find all of them mixed in fresh, crisp greens, with tasty veggies and fruits(depending on which you order) and salad dressings that tasted like they were made on site. Even the mozzarella was made on site. Please don’t take this review the wrong way. We were satisfied with our meals and left content, but not craving a return. It’s a fun place to eat with friends and average priced with friendly, quality service, but we didn’t chew on anything that amazed us.

My second time eating at Olivella’s, although first time at this location. We did the Metro size, half black truffle and half breakfast. The pizza was pretty good, the black truffle is amazing. Definitely their signature flavor. The breakfast was also unique and really tasty. It comes with sausage, bacon, with 2 eggs over easy sitting on top of it. The egg pushed it over the top. The entire pizza was very enjoyable and much less greasy/artery clogging compared to most other pizzas. Although the size of the Metro is pretty big, it’s not all too filling because the crust is extremely thin. Just be aware that if you plan on sharing with 3 or more people, y’all will likely still be hungry afterwards. The crust was also burned on the edges for most of the slices, which is a minor complaint but still worth noting. Overall, this is a good pizza place to try out some interesting flavors and toppings.

The San Danielle at Olivella’s is still one of my favorite pizzas, and it’s the one that introduced me to gourmet pizza in the first place. The margherita sauce is absolute perfection and I have yet to find another place in DFW that compares. The quality of the pizza at this location is just as good as at the other Olivella’s I tried, located near SMU. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the service we received. Waiter was barely around, and did not smile once during his entire interaction with us. Being a server is a tough job though, so I’ll just chuck it up to a bad day at work. The patio was great and the atmosphere was completely unexpected compared to the surroundings(it’s in the middle of a parking lot with a huge dollar tree and other stores). It was relaxing and I felt like I could lose myself in my food and my company for hours while I was there. I would say that Olivella’s serves some of the best pizza in DFW, and since this is the closest location to me, I will likely be back!

I never knew how much of a pizza person until I started my hunt for the best Neapolitan pizza three years ago in Dallas. This place gets pretty close to what I really like. Let me just prompt you, I had some tapas and ceviche at two other restaurants before I came to olivellas last night, so I shouldn’t have had much of an appetite. I’m starting at not too hungry and not too interested. But. It was phen-OMNOMNOM-enal enough for me to eat my whole portion of it(half a regular, which is four full slices). Or I just like saying that. :) The have a brick oven which is always a plus. Got a Regina margherita which has parrano cheese with the regular margherita ingredients. Yum. The bad: a little salty for my taste but I liked it enough. The pie could have used a little more bake time, as the middle part of the crust was not as sturdy and crisp as I usually like it. The good: it was a good size for the price at a restaurant($ 15 for about 12″ if I’m not mistaken — good enough to fill two people without having had eaten anything prior…). Places like fire crust in uptown aren’t my favorite because I’m paying about the same price for a mediocre pizza that doesn’t quite fill my male(yes I’m female) appetite. The crust on the edge was good and slightly airy. The elasticity of the pizza was pretty decent. Gracious with ingredients. It’s a small place, but overall the atmosphere is very relaxed and casual. They have specials on certain days too, such as buy one get one free during certain hours or what not. I’d definitely come back for a pizza! But still on my perfect pizza hunt. Enjoy!

I’ve only ever gotten takeout once, but the service both on the phone placing the order and once inside the dining area to pick it up was excellent. Way way way way way way way way way way way better than the service at Cane Rosso Deep Ellum(the white rock location has much better service imo). I wish I had known about their 2⁄1 special on their ‘metro’(size) pizza m-f 2:30 — 5:30pm so we could have gotten twice the pizza for the same cost last time I ordered. Just so you can have an idea of the cost, each pizza in metro size is about 18 – 23 $, so three metro pizzas and two salads rings up to about $ 83. *Cough* I know. It’s A LOT more than dominoes. It’s a lot more than most local mom and pop Italian joints too, so unless you’re Daddy Warbucks, or trying to rack up some crazy pizza-related credit debt, you probably won’t be eating here every night. The good news about picking up pizza from here is that the crust doesn’t get soggy like it does on the Cane Rosso pizzas. The bad news is that if they’re slightly off on their time estimation, or you on your arrival, your pizza may turn out a bit cardboardy in the crust and cold by the time you get it home and jam some into your mouth. All that aside, I did like their white pizza, and I think the prices are reasonable for a thin crust and a bigger size(this is in regards to the metro size which is supposed to feed 2 – 3 people). Their salads are smaller than those at Cane, but they are also cheaper. The Caesar dressing almost has a mayonnaise quality about it that I can’t figure out. May order again just for more research, but be warned it isn’t what you’d think of when you think Caesar dressing. More like that squeezy cream they sell in the Caribbean, with an added hint of sardine. Half price wine by the bottle on Tuesday nights as well. And $ 10 sangria pitcher with purchase of metro pizza before 5:30pm every day. If the waitstaff service is anywhere near as excellent as the guy at the bar, this would make a fantastic place to bring any demanding-eater relative.

I’m updating now as i have had the pizza and it is a winner. We started with the pizza rolls and they were a hit. Then we had the truffle pizza(no sauce) and I loved it. My 11-year-old not so much. We also had the margarita and the dessert pizza. We both loved the margarita, the 11-year-old loved the nutella pizza. Overall we are big fans. Be warned however, this is not excellent-the-next-day-for-breakfast pizza. Order only what you can eat in one sitting. It doesn’t save well. That being said, we will be back!!!

This place is great! After having visited the Victory Park location, I really enjoyed sitting on the patio and enjoying not one, but three metro style pizzas! I loved sitting on the patio, which itself had a great ambiance and plenty of people sitting out there on a Thursday night. The only I didn’t like was that the view was basically just a parking lot and busy street. The Lakewood location is convenient and has plenty of parking. It can be a bit confusing to find if you’re using Google maps, but just look around and you’re sure to spot it. I started out with a goat cheese and sundried tomato focaccia. The goat cheese was creamy and the tomatoes added just the right amount of tang. It was apparently the waiter’s favorite focaccia and I don’t blame him! Next we ordered 3 metro pizzas, the beauty of it is that you can get two different types of pizza on one metro(split half and half). So by ordering 3 pizzas, you can in reality sample 6. Last, we got the dessert pizza, which had pear slices, marshmallows, and I think nutella. It was a real treat — I normally don’t go for the dessert pizza, but this was really good — I highly recommend it.
