Went today for lunch. I found a hair«ingrained» in my flour tortilla and notified my waitress. She took away the plate, came back and apologized for what happened. She then offered me what is called a «set up» which is the side of charro beans and rice. I said sure since I was halfway done with my lunch anyway. I asked for the check and to my surprise they were charging me that«set up.» They didn’t charge me my taco plate with the hair, but they then had the audacity to charge me the charro beans and rice! The waitress never told me they were going to charge me for it. I thought they were comped since I was the one who had a hair in my taco’s tortilla. When I went to pay the check I told the lady behind the counter what happened. She said my taco plate with the hair was not on the bill, but the«set up» was since I ate it. She was rude when I tried to explain my side of the story in which I thought I shouldn’t have been charged for that stupid«set up.» Suffice it to say, that’s the LASTTIME I’ll ever set foot in that place again!!!

Worst place ever. As soon as we arrived and got a table the service was horrible the waitress took forever just to take our drink orders and twice as long to bring them don’t even get me started on our food although it was good it was not worth the wait, and to top it all off when we were ready to pay all of the orders where charged on the wrong tickets my friends plate was on my ticket my plate was another friend’s ticket they were just very unorganized and had no type of communication with the cashier also they had a karaōke machine that we put $ 20 worth of music and the whole time we were standing there choosing he songs they didn’t even bother in telling us there were about to turn it off for a performer!!! So we had to argue with them about getting a refund in the music since we refused to pay $ 20 from our ticket they threaten to call the police it was just a very bad experience!

They seated us very fast but server took like 5 minutes to come to our table. My boyfriend got a coctel de camaron, which was pricey since they used baby shrimp, compared to other places that use big shrimp. I ordered the lunch taco plate which was three tacos with rice and refried beans. The tortillas were hand made which were good. Rice and beans didn’t have much flavor though. The server looked like she really hated her job, she only came twice and that was to bring us chips and salsa with our drinks and when she delivered our food. If we ever go back, I’m making sure we don’t get her as our server again!

I’ve been there 2 time and have not been disappointed. Authentic Mexican food. Everything I’ve ordered has been delicious including the Piña colada drink.

Ordered Caldo de res, carne guisada, & papa con huevo plate. Food was by far better than the service. Guy looks like he’s being put out by serving us. But any Mexican restaurant that charges extra for chips and salsa has got some issues. Who does that??? Anyway Gonzalez or Herrera’s are better picks.

Had driven by this place a few times and I was in the neighborhood to meet a friend, so we thought we would try it out. The inside was very bright and colorful and the jukebox was blaring regaeton(Spanish Hip Hop) and it reminded me of a restaurant in South America! Our waitress stopped by took our drink order and although friendly… almost seemed like she did not want to be there. Both of our orders came quickly… I ordered the lengua(beef tounge) plate and my pal ordered the enchilada dinner. Albeit a bit on the salty side, I thought my meal was very tasty and authentic. Getting our waitress back to refill our drinks was a challenge as several of her peers came to her rescue. The volume on the speakers for the TV and music was a bit loud I thought… all I kept hearing was ads for weight control LOL… paying was a bit of a challenge as we had to wait for the cashier to return from whatever she was doing. If you go, expect authentic Mexican food, but certainly don’t expect to be waited on like you would at Pappasitos!

So we tried this place out on a Sunday, it was busy but not too crazy. I asked if they could make me some quesadillas with meat and they said NO. What, really, how hard is it to make those. After that I was pissed off but since I went with other people I had to wait for them to eat. I did try there food, nothing great. They did have fresh homemade corn tortillas, but I will NOT go back if they can’t accommodate their customers

I was craving Mexican food, specifically enchiladas and decided to stop and try this place. I should of just kept driving. Despite loud music(having to yell in order to hold a conversation) and a restaurant atmosphere that feels crowded, uncomfortable, and poor lighting. I could of bared these circumstances if the food was halfway decent. It was not. I ordered the Enchiladas Morelianas and was served a bland, stale tasting plate. The chicken tasted as though it was under a heat lamp most of the day. I couldn’t help but think Morelia’s was just throwing random ingredients on the plate and charging $ 12.50 to customers. To note, I am not ever the bad customer who nit picks at restaurants, it has been a very long time since I have left a place as dissatisfied as I did when I left Morelias.

They charge .50 for mayonnaise when you get a burger! Really? They charge .50 when you ask for a side of ranch. Really? Then when they give you the bill they stand there and watch you tip and sign the receipt. Really? And no diet fountain drinks. Plus I had to eat in the dark. They didn’t have lights on. What a weird experience.

The food was authentic and great. Cleaned my plate. Happy Hour is awesome for margaritas. The food is true Mexican food.

service was ok, cashier was baby sitting. Margatrigas on the rocks looked and tasted like cleaner or kerosene. Ceviche tasted like there was mayo in it: X and the waters had floaters all up in it: X €:p :-(*) ÷@ v:℗

Wow… the wife and I had been talking about trying Morelia’s since it was so close to the house and always seems crowded. We finally stopped in for dinner. The dirks were great and the staff was friendly but the food was god awful. The pork on my entrée was over cooked and so dry I would have been embarrassed to serve it. The shrimp and sausage on my entrée ok, the pork remind me of some geriatric from Florida that sits in the sun all day, unnaturally brown and dried out. My wife’s meal looked worse but actually tasted better. We won’t go back.

Decent food, reasonable prices. Loud music. The ribeye steak was delicious, and my friend enjoyed his beef caldo stew, which had more than enough beef! They had a live mariachi band too(this past Sunday night) but beforehand there was a guy singing Mexican karaōke and the volume was WAY too loud.

We(mom, sister, nephew &I) decided to sit on the patio as the weather was absolutely gorgeous. The service was well below average. We were not greeted, just given menus. We ordered our first round if drinks, 2 Margaritas and my glass of merlot. I shared the ceviche tostadas with my mom, that was literally a can of salmon mixed with heavy pepper and lime juice, slopped atop a tostada shell. Yuck! I had to go inside to order our second round and ask for our table to be cleaned. The waitress brings the drinks outside, then decides we can’t have them unless we have our i. d’s!!! Even though we just drank a round. ??? I left hungry and frustrated. We will not be back.

I’m very fond of Morelia restaurant — the wait staff are friendly(perhaps because I’m always polite too), and the food is VERY good. And it’s authentic Michoacan food, I’ve had the same dishes in the city of Morelia. The chicken mole is wonderful, the breakfast and lunch options are tasty and inexpensive — actually everything I’ve had there has been very good. I stick to their dishes which have a comfortable level of spicy-warmth these days, which is most things. The guisado de puerco verde, though, which is very tasty and used to be one of my favorites, is too spicy-hot for me now, my aging insides can’t handle that much heat any more. This makes me sad, it’s really good! A failing of my genetics, not the chef. So yes, have a meal at Morelia. The atmosphere is good, it’s neat and tidy, and the food can’t be beat.

Really bad. Such a bad idea to go there. Food is average, but the kind of people who work here makes you vomit! They have the mexican spanish channel and the typical mexican white shows playing all the time. Those bimbo type waitresses are what you get here. The fajita meat is thick as leather! Not chewable, disgusting! The whitish bitchy waitress thinks its a previlge for us to even talk to her! Rude as hell! Just wanted to get away from there. The salad is not fit for humans. A little bit of pico de gallo costs $ 1.50. This may be a good place for drug dealers, and buyers, but others run! Run!

Hubby and I go here for drinks after work and the great food. If you see the crazy girl dancing with the mariachis, that’s me! Margaritas and beer are $ 2.00 before 8 p.m.

I used to live about 5 minutes by car from Morelia(before I moved to NYC) and ate there quite often. The food is, I suppose, in the style of the state of Michoacán(since I’ve never been to Michoacán, I can’t swear to that). Whatever the style, the food is delicious! Chips are average; salsa better than average(quite spicy, if that matters). I highly recommend the Pechuga Michoacán, which is a grilled chicken breast with onions, poblano chili, and a white cheese over the grilled breast. It’s mild, but well seasoned. A friend of mine always has the chicken mole. The chicken is, as I think it should be, on the bone. The mole sauce is spicy and complex. It doesn’t have as much a taste of seeds as I’m used to(I always grind pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds and almonds into mine), but it’s quite tasty. By the way, my friend eats mole only here and at his mother’s house. Other entrees are always good as well. The atmosphere is interesting. There may be karaōke, football on big screens(American football or soccer), very loud ranchera music, classic movies, news of Mexico, or some combination. Often it’s loud. Most customers are from the neighborhood, which I like. Service is always attentive and helpful. Oh, and they usually have 4 or 5 aguas frescas(tonight they had tamarindo, Jamaica, horchata, piña, and one more), which are generously served. I thought that after being away for 5 years I might be disappointed by Morelia, that maybe I had romanticized it. Nope, it’s just as good as I remembered. Check it out!

The food here is so amazing. Everything I’ve tried has been great. Now, I need to be careful when I say that because I seldom stray too far from my favorites. I do not get over there enough to deprive myself from their Michoacan Style Molcajete – grilled steak – I believe pork – served with grilled nopales, chorizo, green onions, guacamole and charro beans. The steak is the most tasty thing I’ve ever eaten in Dallas… EVEH! They bring this out in a big stone bowl. The steak and nopales are nestled into some lettuce topped with spicy green sauce and sliced avocados and green onions. Beans are on the side. I suspect there’s a tiny bit of teriyaki in the marinade… but whatever that flavor is, I absolutely crave it. Mini me had the enchiladas… and they were so good I had to wait till she turned her head to get a bite. Yeah, but she wanted some of mine, so it worked out. The flour tortillas are really made there and are fresh. They taste great. Save room for dessert, the tres leche cake is good also. Note, for those who like more traditional big bowls of meat, there’s a Mexican Grill Sampler with beef, chicken fajita, shrimp, tablitas, and carnitas served with rice, charro beans, guacamole, pico and cream. Sometimes we get both. It’s a virtual meat fest. I’ve looked back over my last entries… hmmm…tex mex, meat, donuts, more tex mex, meat… time for Souper Salads or Subway tonight.
