Honestly, I probably wasn’t fully fair with my past review. Despite all the other food places at my disposal, I still go here several times a week. Sadly I only get the half chicken but that deal alone is worth 5 stars. My previous comment that the food quality here is worse than that of Pollo Campero was probably made out of ignorance more than anything. At lunch I spend $ 9 and get a leg, thigh, breast, wing, half-onion, 5 corn tortillas, 2 large servings of rice(i still don’t like the beans so I substitute), a lime wedge, and 2 green salsas(I don’t get the red salsa). The salsa is so good and is perfectly paired with the already flavorful chicken. For someone like me this place is a dream come true. Great food, great price, and huge portion sizes(more food than 1 person should be able to eat. it may be designed for 2 people to eat lol but I eat it by myself).

If you want great chicken look no further. This place is the best! Huge portions with little prices. The whole chicken meal feeds 2 easily maybe a third as well. It comes with a side a beans & rice, tortillas, red salsa, green salsa(my favorite) and limes! Trust me you will not regret it! The fajitas street tacos are also great! Great flavor, big chunks of steak and not greasy at all compared to other places!

Open flamed grilled chicken at its best! El Pollo Regio has multiple locations across DFW but originated in a trailer in Austin, Texas. They have several value meals and family value meal options that are very affordable. A weeknight healthy alternative for dinner with a drive thru?!? I say yes! Their reasonably priced meals include chicken, Mexican style rice, the yummiest charro beans, corn tortillas, grilled onion, lime, and a variety of salsas. They also offer other fantastic entrees like tortas, tacos, burritos, carne asada, molé, flautas, and much more. I’ve also used their catering multiples times which was easy on the pocketbook. I highly recommend El Pollo Regio!

Came here once, will happily return. Spent $ 9.50 for 3 verde chicken enchiladas, rice, beans and agua fresca. All were great! Good selection at the salsa bar, too; wish there was some pico sitting there though.

Yummy. Order the fresh chicken instead of the already made tacos much juicer. Could be a little cleaner or would get more stars

I was introduced to this place by a friend for their half chicken meal deal. This place is fantastic and I agree with the previous reviewer about the green salsa. Huge portions for low prices and great quality. I try to stop by every few weeks for a visit.

Attention Gringos!!! There is a secret place very few of you know about, but it’s so delicious I can no longer keep it a secret. It’s called Pollo Regio and it will change your life. When ever I go to Mexico, hungrily I look for a place that sells pollos asados(chicken cooked over charcoal). The secret is in the marinade, the simple way to make it is with vinegar and orange juice, as well as onions, garlic and spices. Roast it over charcoal and you will discover the most delicious bird you’ve ever had! It’s been non-existent here in the States until only a few years ago and this is my favorite one. I am reviewing the Pollo Regio location in Oak Cliff, but this is a franchise. I have not found a bad one yet. They all vary in size and location, but all have the same consistent taste and flavor. They have several combos, but the thing you really want is the whole or half chicken meals. At $ 7.99 for half a bird, it’s a cheap feast! It comes complete with corn tortillas, frijoes borrachos(beans cooked with pork, bacon, onion, cilantro and a bit of beer), rice, cooked onion and lime. BESTOFALL is the delicious green salsa! I am not kidding about this! Get the green salsa! Some places try to give you the red salsa but say NO, you only want the green one. It’s seems to be a cream/avocado based salsa. This is the kind of salsa that is HOT but oh so good at the very same time. You will be sweating, with eyes watering, and enjoying a total foodgasm! GETTHEGREENSALSA!!!
