Moon Wok

About once a year I get a taste for Chinese food and today was the day. Haven’t had Chinese since moving to Dallas so went to Unilocal,found Moon Wok, placed an order on-​line for delivery … very easy peasy.
I like that the minimum charge for delivery is covered with an appetizer and entrée for one and thought the delivery charge was fair. The food arrived much quicker than estimated which was nice but suspect that’s because I ordered it off-​peak, about 2:30 in the afternoon, the person who made the delivery was nice and all the food was hot when it arrived.
The fried dumplings were cooked well and tasty. The sauce container opened and spilled out on the dumplings but that’s OK, i was going to use the sauce and saved me from dipping.
The pork lo mein was good and plentiful, I’ll be enjoying it for days.
The fortune cookie was a nice touch.
I’ll be back …

I have never dined in here and I order often. I notice some of the reviews mention the service which mine is always good. I was a little thrown off that the lady (maybe the owner or manager) was walking around yelling at the workers then got on the phone to yell at someone else. The girl at the register shook her head as if this was normal. None of that bothered me as I had my order to go but if I were dining in I would have asked her to take that to the back.
I wanted to venture away from my regular and tried the Thai curry chicken… big mistake! It was very salty and while the menu says it is made with coconut milk I think they ran out. In my experience coconut milk has a bit of a sweet taste and when used with curry brings out the strong flavor and spice. I did order fried rice also and that was good.
Overall I will come back but sticking to what I know.

I order their take out once every few months. Never disappoints. Hot and sour soup is the best!

Delivery time was nearly an hour and a half. Food was cold and ordered extra duck sauce but still only received about 6 packets. I’d try again based on the other reviews. Maybe it was just a bad day…

FAVORITE CHINESE RESTAURANT WITH CHEAP FOODS! If you’re on a budget and crave some Chinese food, this is the place to go! Their staff is very nice. The best part about this place is that they have delivery. I order delivery almost every week. Service is amazing!

The health department need to visit. Place need overall cleaning. Staff giving out wrong order, burnt food, and manager (sharon) i watched her roll her eyes, talking about guest in restaurant. The so waitress texting as she is bringing food to tables. Food isnt good, service is worst.

made a delivery through eat24 and first of all the timer said 45 – 60 min and it came to my place in just about 30. so to say the least it was HOT when it came to me as if she had cooked on the way over here. now lets talk about the portion that was served. im going to be eating for two days for as much they have given me. everything EVERYTHING was very very good about this place really would like to be able to give them 3 more stars.

Stopped by after work to take home dinner. First time there and not sure. The place was dirty; floors had food, straw wrappers and just dirty in general which makes me wonder how clean the kitchen is.
Food: steamed dumplings were good, but Sesame chicken had too much very heavy, thick sauce, but fried rice, egg rolls and hot and sour soup were good. 2 of us had dinner and enough for leftovers for lunch.
Will try again to see if looks cleaner and a different entrée.

This is probably my favorite Chinese place I’ve been to since I moved to Dallas a year ago. I’m actually quite surprised by all the one star reviews. The food is always delicious and the staff has always been friendly to me. Among my favorite items are the lettuce wraps and the chicken wings — the flavor of the sauce is so unique to anything I’ve had before.
Also, to the guy named Fred K who replied to a few of the negative reviews, I don’t know if you’re a real person or not but your replies crack me up! I wish more management could be honest like you because the customer is definitely NOT always right. ;)

I’m only giving this place one star I was in the Dallas area visiting decided to order some food that was by where I was staying. Found this place called placed my order to have it delivered the lady on the phone said it would take 45 minutes. Good thing it took bout 15−20minutes awesome. The food portion was just to big for just one person eating for two can handle. So I shared it with couple other people. The food didn’t taste very good as I thought it would. At the end of the night there food had everyone I shared my food with sick. I’ll never eat there again when I’m in that Dallas area.

Large dinner portions, food was good. Service was so so.

First time to order from Moon Wok, delivery to the office.
The chicken Lo Mien was well done as were the spring rolls.
I enjoyed it and will order again, if the mood hits me.

I really like this place. If you’re looking for a neighborhood «hole in the wall». This is the place! I’ve gotten to Lo Mien with beef and egg drop soup and I can honestly say the Lo Mien was one of the best I’ve had. The staff is super nice and attentive and clearly care about their customers. Glad I live so close so I can be lazy and get delivery from the Eat 24 app!

By far my favorite Chinese restaurant in Dallas and this is coming from someone who generally doesn’t like Chinese food. . at all.
I order from them practically everyday, the delivery guys and girls are always very nice, and most importantly the food is affordable and DELICIOUS!!! I am never afraid to experiment and try new things from their menu, i’m never disappointed.
My only issue isn’t really an issue, but the Thai Curry doesn’t really taste very curryish, but it’s still absurdly good and I’ve added it to my repeat order list along with the dumplings. I call it the delicious Thai Non-​Curry dish, HAHA!
P. s. I love how vocal and unafraid the manager is here on Unilocal.Makes me love this place even more!

I was skeptical about ordering the first time, but Moon Wok has definitely exceeded my expectations. I wish they had more sushi options, but I was surprised at how good their Philadelphia roll is! They have fantastic crab rangoon as well. I’ve ordered from here a few times now and it’s always great and the price is too!

This is some awesome Chinese we’ve tasted in a long time.
We had it delivered through the Unilocal app and they tracked it and with in minutes, it was delivered. Yes, with everything we ordered.

After I gave this place a bad review the manager rudely talked down to me about my smart phone spelling problems lol! Pretty creepy as I’m looking at other reviews this guy knows which exact customer you are. Why so hostile? You manage a business for a reason so maybe you should please your customers to come back rather than be rude as hell and they give you even worse of a review.

I phoned ahead and placed my order. It was ready to go when I got there 20 mins later. I got home and to my disappoint there was a missing fried rice. I called and informed them and they were super nice and apologetic. Even offered to give me the rice and 2 egg rolls the next time as I didn’t want to drive back to get the fried rice.
The food was not what I expected. We ordered the general taos chicken and teriyaki chicken and a order of crab rangoon. The crab rangoon was nice and crispy but had no crab and a ton of cream cheese. The teriyaki chicken had little to no sauce and was served on a bed of lettuce had no flavor and looked old. Needless to say we didn’t eat it. The general chicken was ok. I don’t mind spending money but $ 26 for the meal we got was shocking. We won’t be returning!

Stop it everyone, just stop it. Traditional Chinese food does not come with an option of steamed rice or fried rice and an egg roll. It just doesn’t.
That being said, this place is A-​OK.
You walk in and it’s the normal Mom-​and-​Pop Chinese restaurant. I actually think the name of the place is kinda hip and cute, so against my better judgement, I tried this place out. I walked up to the counter and checked out their lunch menu. I got the Szechuan beef and a water. It comes with your choice of soup, your choice of rice and an egg roll.
First off, they’ll ask you if you have a different credit card if you give them an AmEx. For my lunch bill, that’s a savings of about 6 cents. I think it’s negligible, yes, that is 1% and I guess it adds up but I thought it was a bit much. She may as well have asked me for cash.
So the food. The hot and sour soup was very thick. I think they added too much corn starch and it gelled up pretty good. Enough that I was turned off. The taste was okay.
The Szechuan beef was actually pretty good. The cook in the back can stir-​fry with the best of them. The vegetables were cut thinly and were cooked well. The beef was cooked to a perfect tenderness. The only complaint I had was that the sauce was too salty. Once I ran out of rice, I couldn’t eat the Szechuan beef by itself because of my fear of instant hypertension. It was so salty that as I’m writing this review, my mouth is watering from just remembering how salty it was.
The egg roll was fried just right and the fried rice, although it lacked peas and carrots, was decent.
All-​in-​all this place was pretty good. I’d probably go back if I needed some quick food. The portion was pretty big and I didn’t finish it all (because of the saltiness).
