A neighborhood, especially a mixed income and ethnically mixed populated paradise like Old East Dallas, need, must have, will create if not had, a small satisfying joint like the Carroll Louisiana Fried Chicken. They fib a little: yeah we like chicken, the hot fresh kind. But they add diversions like trios of shrimp, catfish, fried okra and… drumroll…gumbo. Rich gumbo. Hot sauce. Clean spot sandwiched prettily between tire repair, panaderias, liquor stores, taquerias and Paradise En Route En Commute. Lucky you!

Pretty good chicken! They aren’t the fastest at lunch time to get your order, but to me that means fresh. and it was. You get tons of fries with an order .so plenty of food. The chicken has sort of a breading on it .not the traditional crunchy flour based skin I’m used to. It’s still good though. Friendly service, fair prices, and my favorite? Thai Tea option! No bubbles… but still a yummy treat. Good spot, not a bad choice for lunch

I get it now… this is what Popeye’s is TRYING to do. However, they do not come close to the food served at Louisiana Chicken. The spicy chicken is great. And I really like their super thick brown gravy – it sticks to the taters. Forget the buckets and boxes from other places. This is the real deal when you want spicy fast chicken.

Soory as place sign says open @ 10 waited outside the restaurant for 17 minutes waiting for the one retarded guy inside to open up and nothing. I wasn’t the only one waiting outside either. Not even a courtesy wave to acknowledge the people waiting outside!

Amazing service and amazing food!!! They are super cool too. Brought a friend my first time here, and we came rather close to their closing time, and we were still treated like family… Even when one of their famous smoothies became one with the parking lot upon exiting, they kindly made us another one, free of charge. Never thought I’d ever say this, but I think I’ve found a new chicken joint! Their slushes and smoothies are sublime. Recommend the chicken legs, fried okra, and they have these little pies for dessert that just melt in your mouth!

This fried chicken is fabulous. This is my new go-to spot for fried chicken in East Dallas. I ordered the $ 5.49 special.(3 thighs, french fries, dinner roll, and a soda.) The chicken was hot and crisp on the outside… juicy and tender on the inside… The batter is seasoned quite nice. The french fries are sprinkled with a Cajun Seasoning, which gives them a really great flavor. There is also a nice condiment bar with dipping sauces which include bar-b-que sauce, Cajun tartar sauce, and ketchup. The only gripe i have is the dinner roll. Its a cheap pre-packaged supermarket dinner roll. For a restaurant with a Cajun Louisiana theme, i think buttermilk biscuits would pair better with their chicken. Thats only a minor gripe though which can be overlooked since their chicken is so tasty and juicy. I will definitely be back…

The customer service was friendly, but the area was a little sketchy. Be aware that your order will take awhile to fill if you’re going through the drive thru. However, the price was great.

Cheap chicken, one flavor only. Between mild and spicy — so it’s tolerable even for people like me who doesn’t like spicy food. The dinner rolls are cheap but they’re still good even though it may be more of a guilty pleasure that some people would have even from a cafeteria because it has this sweet, buttery flavor. Prices are good too. What else is there to say?

Everything was cooked fresh. Shrimp, Fish & chicken tender were piping hot & crispy. Each was plentiful & delicious. Okra seriously tasted like it had just been cut dipped & fried. There is no possible way this stuff was frozen. Potato salad again tasted and was the consistency of homemade, really tasty, as close to my moms as I’ve ever had. You should really try this place. The young lady working drive thru was terrific. Friendly, professional & really takes pride in the service she provides. If you like this type of food you should really try this place.

We tried Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken via their drive-thru recently and, aside from a couple of issues, we were very happy. We ordered the 3-piece meal with 2 thighs, a wing, fries, and a roll, and an additional side of fried okra. The thighs were very good — crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the outside with a slight spiciness that builds the more you eat it, which was a good thing. Our wing was left out of meal so I can’t attest to the juiciness of their white meat, unfortunately. The fries are really tasty — not greasy at all and cooked to a prefect golden brown. The okra was the same — seasoned and fried to perfection. Other than the incorrect order, the only other issue I have is related to some panhandling by a man loitering right next to the take-out window. I don’t normally feel threaten in situations like that but this individual was very aggressive, and the although he and his behavior were clearly visible by the staff, no one intervened or asked him to move away from the area. This won’t stop us from going there again — it could have very easily been a one time issue — but as a woman, I’d have some uneasiness in going there solo in the future.

Better than Popeyes! Large portions(like a pound for 3 tenders) of some of the juiciest chicken tenders I’ve ever had. Literally more food than i could eat in a single sitting for $ 7. Nice, clean environment and the staff provided a couple free ranches on the side. First refill on pop is free but you have to pay for the second. The hot sauce they have is Louisiana brand without the label. Square deal in my book. Would recommend for a hearty lunch

Spicy, flavorful, juicy, crunchy fried chicken. SO damn good! I got the 3 piece combo(wing, leg, thigh) and it was excellent. The crust is thick & crunchy and full of flavor with a little bit of heat. Served with a potato roll. Just under $ 5. I think this is my new fave! Highly recommend for your cheap, delicious fried chicken fix. Also has drive-thru so you can take it home and eat it by yourself in juicy, delicious shame. Not that I’d know anything about that…

My husband and I tried this place for the first time today. There is some good and some bad. He ordered a 3 piece thighs w/fries and I ordered 2 thighs and a piece of fish with dirty rice. The chicken is very good. It’s juicy and full of flavor. The batter is a bit spicy, so keep that in mind when you order. It built up on me as we ate. I love spicy food, so it was fine. The fish filet was great. Also full of flavor and the fish was not over cooked. It’s coated in a cornmeal style batter that is delicious. Tartar sauce is available and it was also very good. They have their own Louisiana style hot sauce. The dirty rice was not impressive. It was pretty mushy in consistency and a bit bland. The fries were nice but nothing special. Not soggy and the portion was large. They add a small amount of seasoning which is good. Each meal came with a roll that was your basic, pull-apart white roll. Similar to what Williams chicken uses. I had to ask for butter, which they brought from the back. They do not have knives, so I had to use a spoon to spread it. We did not try one of their specialty drinks but they had slushies in several flavors and Thai iced tea. The things we were not impressed with… The napkins! They are the cheapest and thinnest napkins ever. Not good when you are eating greasy fried chicken. You could easily go through 15 napkins(and I did) to just keep your hands clean. They seriously need to upgrade to a better quality napkin asap. The food is served in small cardboard boats that are not big enough. They need to go up a size in my opinion. There is nowhere to put ketchup or tartar for dipping. I supposed you could just pour it on top of your food, but that seemed strange to me. The atmosphere is ok. They’ve definitely made an effort to create a nice space, but they lost me with the tables and chairs, which are about as cheapo and unappealing as it gets. There seems to be an issue with loitering outside the business and people just sort of wandering aimlessly outside the windows. Also, some of the clientele was on the rougher side and 3 women in particular clearly thought it was ok to scream, laugh and tell jokes at the top of their lungs. It was pretty crazy but I wasn’t going to say anything. Let’s face it, the location is a little rough so we kind of expected that. I don’t think we would actually eat there again but we might get it to-go. They have a drive-thru.

Here’s an update now that I have tried the chicken: Yeah, I’m gonna go ahead and give them the ol’ 5 stars. I thought about keeping it at 4, but I really do think this is some gooood chicken! My advice: go for the 3-piece combo instead of the 2. Two pieces just isn’t enough. The chicken comes out piping hot and extra juicy on the inside with a really good depth of flavor to the meat, plus the outside breading is extra crunchy with a good coating of spices that are very tasty. Yes, the chicken hits it outta the park in my opinion. I think it is a superior option to Popeyes and certainly KFC/Church’s. Special note: the fries are excellent! They’re also dusted with some good spices so they aren’t just plain. As good as McDonald’s who, in my opinion, continues to have the best fry on the market. Bonus points too for the compact way they package it up for to-go orders. Not a big styrofoam container but all packed neatly down into a paper tray and wrapped tightly into a small paper bag. Staff has been friendly and businesslike when I’ve been. The inside isn’t much to speak of – very fast food looking. I’m sure I’ll always get orders to go. I definitely recommend. Get that chicken!

New spot, that recently opened(and actually on the same side as Pope’s Chicken). Service, friendly Décor, citrus coloring. Bare And now onto the important observation. The FOOD! We ordered the combo meal #28 It consisted of skinny fries shrimp fish fillet and two pieces of chicken(wing and thigh. Little guys) Taste, overall pretty good. One might say, you can’t go wrong when you fry food(but it’s has happen and it’s not pretty). I would definitely go back! One drawback, the area is a bit sketchy. So be aware.
