Great hole-in-the-wall place that definitely a fast and cheap authentic Mexican breakfast!

I gotta say I was pretty impressed at my meal. This place gets 4 stars because of the amazing staff working there and my delicious plate I ordered. I went in there and purchased a plate of barbacoa and it was delicious! The beans and rice that came with it complemented the main portion really well. Also the flour tortillas were nice and warm. Price was a little high for my liking but the food was great!

Los Lupes has fantastic specials and friendly service! As often as possible I round up the office team and make it there for a chips & salsa extravaganza. And what better way to enjoy authentic Tex-Mex than with great service, good friends, and a convenient location!

Don’t be fooled by the 2 star review. Los Lupes is what it is and it excels at what it does. I’ve been eating here for years and the service and food has remained constant throughout. You want a belly full of no nonsense Tex Mex? Hit their buffet for 8 – 10 enchiladas, 4 tacos and 3 tamales. Don’t forget the sopapillas. I guarantee a nap is in order following this debaucery.

I’ve never been to this location before and had to partake in the original Los Lupes, I grew up in and around Duncanville and in high school almost every morning I went to the location there for breakfast burritos before school. This is when I first fell in love. I think I have been to almost if not all of the locations and I have to say, it is obvious which ones are older. I love the food, it’s true to what I know, good ol’ tex mex and super tasty but please… please Los Lupes, can you update Dallas and Grand Prairie? I can’t really say much about the food, I always get the enchiladas, I typically intend to try something else, but always end up with my favorite. I’ve never gone with somebody that had a negative thing to say and the service is always great. The Irving location has live music and Grand Prairie too sometimes, which is interesting if nothing else ;) Don’t pass it up! Update: Feb. 2015 I have now tried many more things on the menu at the Grand Prairie locale, strength training has a way of making you change the way you eat. The Pollo Aculpulco is FANTASTIC and always leaves me super full, I always get double beans or veg and beans, no rice for me anymore. They make their veggies perfectly EVERY time, I never get them too raw, they are always perfect. The chicken is always super tender — the fajitas, delicious. Explore the whole menu, really. it’s so delish!

I really wanted to like this place because it just looks«right.» However, two stars, only because all the folks who work here are so doggone nice and because they have Bud on tap for $ 1.50 per mug. How the heck do you make a cheese enchilada so tough that you have to use a knife on it? Insipid, low-quality chile gravy for the enchiladas. Cheap chips. Bland salsa. Charro beans were pretty good. The tripe for the menudo was not properly prepared so it delivered a fecal flavor. Hey, there’s a bone in my menudo! WTF? Won’t do it again.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get worse than El Fenix! YYUUCKK!!! Look, the people that work here are delightful. This location is a courthouse favorite, but I’ve never eaten here without the WORST heartburn EVER! And I don’t really get heartburn. Don’t get me wrong, the food tastes just fine. I think it’s all the grease they use to prepair it or something. .. I don’t know, but after eating here two times in 15 years, I just can’t do it!

I only gave it 1 star because I had too! :/This is the most disgusting Mexican place ever. Worst breakfast tacos ever!!! Like seriously!!! How can you mess up breakfast tacos… That is the easiest thing one can ever make for breakfast! Being 100% Mexican, I definitely know good and real Mexican food! Not worth wasting your time or money. This is as bad as Pancho’s! I pre-warned you! Stay AWAY!

This place gets one star. Just one. And only because the staff are super duper nice. A co-worker brought me chicken tacos from Los Lupes some time ago. The tacos were tasty and I really, really liked the chips. They were the perfect amount of salty/greasy that I like(not necessarily a ringing endorsement, I’m sure.) I was also really excited about it because they serve menudo every day and no place does that. I went to eat there yesterday. I sat myself at a booth and ordered the menudo. I was happily munching away at the chips while waiting for my order when I noticed something out of the corner of my eye. There was a roach on my table. I am terrified of roaches and it took all of my self control to not jump up screaming and run away. A moment later there was another roach on the side of my drink cup. Absolutely nothing in the world can justify roaches to me. And just thinking about having previously eaten food from here makes my stomach turn. Yuck.

Dudes, Los Lupes is a mess. This is bottom of the barrel Mexican food. I have been here several times. Nothing’s good. It’s all greased at 5x the amount it should be. Everything is very oily. Everything is a shade of brown. The tacos use that disgusting Jack-In-The-Box style beanmeatpaste. There is a dearth of fresh ingredients. The highly touted Breakfast tacos ARE very good, but me and my buddy got some sort of stomach bug from eating them the other day. As the city center churns and recycles itself, this area will see some new changes come along in the next few years. New apartments are creeping across 35, the design district is expanding. Los Lupes will either have to put some effort into it, or they’ll be a forgotten relic of Diabetes inducing queso-carne-gravy-paste. Look down and see your orange-tinted reflection staring back at you in the hundreds of tiny pools of oil floating on the top of your tortilla soup. Remember this moment, because you’re at Los Lupes. Great for: A comadose of Tortilla soup is just right for a hangover, and resulting nap during the afternoon meeting. Breakfast tacos are pretty good if you don’t get sick from them. Avoid: Buffet. Tacos Burritos Enchiladas Tamales Rice Beans Nachos Chili con Carne Chips Salsa ok, it wasn’t THAT bad.

Indulge your craving for Breakfast Tacos here and your taste buds will love you. This place has the best breakfast tacos in Dallas, and I’m not foolin’ around, kids. I go here and pick up a variety of breakfast tacos for my swabbies occasionally, and when I set the tacos down, the swabbies swarm them like coyotes scavenging a rabbit carcass. Los Lupes breakfast tacos are made of soft tortillas, and are filled with potato and egg. Tacos are $ 1.25 each, and for 10 extra cents they will add cheese. Cheese is good. Add the cheese. They also give you a little bit of their salsa to put on the tacos. Salsa is really good. Add the salsa. The Chorizo breakfast tacos are my personal favorite.(Chorizo is spicy pork — garbachos.) The potato, bacon, and cheese tacos are always a big hit with the swabbies. The ladies behind the counter are friendly and attentive. They will also take your take-out order over the phone and have your tacos ready for you 15 minutes later. I have not gone into Los Lupes and sat down for a meal, but it is on my list. They have an enchilada dinner for $ 3.99 and a Lunch Special of $ 5.35. The menu lists enchiladas, tacos, flautas, fajitas, and combination plates. They also have beer. Now we have to love this place.
