Really love this place for their #2 taco, the bacon and avocado breakfast taco. Tin Star is close to where I live so I come here pretty frequently. The #2 is the only type of taco I’ve ever tried, but friends I’ve dined with here enjoyed the tacos they got as well. Also love that they have a salsa bar. The green salsa is delicious and since I love spicy food the fresh and pickled jalepenos are a nice option to have. This place is super casual and a great place to grab a quick bite. Just a side note: sometimes the service can be a bit slow so I like to call ahead!

I’ve eaten next door at Paradise Bakery a few times and had high hopes for Tin Star. To bad I was disappointed. Cute little place with potential. Ordered a couple of chicken tacos with black beans and rice. The chicken was thick strips of chicken breast and was chewy and tough as leather. The rice and beans were acceptable. Couldn’t finish lunch.

Their fish tacos are super yummy and the service was fast and friendly. The salsa bar is loaded with tons of goodies– fresh and cooked jalapenos, corn, various salsas, pico, etc. The only problem? It was not fresh– looked like it had been sitting out all day and the spillage was not cleaned up. My order was also messed up as the guac and sour cream were both forgotten on my order. Overall the food was great– the fish tacos especially. Note: Free parking options are limited, so make sure you read the signs and don’t get towed.

Had food from here delivered to a meeting yesterday and it was absolutely amazing!!! The caterers also packaged everything really well. The guacamole is absolute perfection — even the next day. The vegetarian tacos have an amazing flavor and they are topped with sweet potato strings! Can’t wait to stop by the actual restaurant and try out more of the menu.

What do you do when the office is serving pork that looks a little worse-for-wear? Go downstairs to Tin Star, that’s what! This is my go-to spot when the food on-order looks unappealing. Tin Star is your basic little taco place with a variety of different tacos and other Mexican food. You can order things a la carte or as part of a meal. Everything is fresh, though some of the more exotic flavors can be a bit hit-or-miss. They might be more to someone else’s liking, though! The best part? They have a giant bin where the house fresh chips of which you are free to take your fill. The salsa is great, too. Overall, this is a good bet for a quick meal of pretty-good tacos. It’s not the absolute best, but it’s affordable, close to work, and quick.

Best breakfast tacos around the area, terrific chips and salsa. #3 on the breakfast menu is my go-to.

I used to love this place. The tacos were just right. Not anymore, this is just the average fast food quality tacos. They have trickle down in quality over the months I’ve been to this place.

This review is for catering only. Last week I sent an email to the address provided on their website with a detailed list of my catering order — 15 breakfast taco PLATTERS for a breakfast we were hosting this morning for 120 people. I followed up my email with a phone call and confirmed the details of my order. At 8:40 this morning, they delivered 15 tacos, not the platters. I understand small mistakes are made, but this was a huge mistake! Thankfully, we have a deli in the lobby of our building who put together an assembly line and had 100 tacos to us by 9:05. At 9:45, Tin Star showed up with the rest of the order which we did not accept. When I am hosting an event and have to count on others to come through, I need them to do so 100%. After both an email and a phone call to confirm the order, they did anything but. We are a large firm that caters at least 5 meals a week and Tin Star is definitely now crossed off our list. Now to see what we end up getting charged for…

I could eat here every day(and almost do). So many tacos to choose from. Each lovingly and individually prepared. From pork with radish & caramelized onions to grilled buffalo chicken with blue. Excellent roja and verde salsas, fresh garnish — chopped cilantro, jalapeño, lime & corn. MANGOICEDTEA. Keep wanting to try their breakfast tacos but they are closed Sundays :( It’s my go to spot for pick up dinner while I walk the dog, for a quick meet a friend spot in the neighborhood and for Taco Happy Hour Tuesdays & Thursdays. Yep, you read that right … Tacos meet happy hour. Genius.

Tin Star is the perfect spot for a quick, work lunch break. My favorite tacos are the #6BBQ pork and #7 chicken. The flour tortillas are delicious, tacos flavorful, and sides tasty. And I really like the chips and salsa bar – the corn salsa is delish!

So, lately Tin Star has become one of my favorite work day lunch spots. It’s got pretty much everything you want when it comes to your lunch hour. The food is good, the service is friendly as well as just quick enough, and they are good about keeping the place clean. If you’re wanting some crunch with your tacos or salad, they even have a complimentary self serve chips and salsa bar. I really dig the green salsa, if you were wondering… I guess I really like this spot because despite the speed at which you’re being served your food, it kind of feels like you’re having a nice leisurely lunch. When I’m there by myself, I’ll take my tablet along and use their free WiFi to read. Maybe it’s just me, but I always leave a bit more relaxed than when I arrived. My two cents for this place would be to avoid the peak lunch hour as you will definitely find a line and few open tables. My other tip is that they do have free parking in the parking garage. Just ask them for a token when ordering your food and you’re all set. Definitely check this place out for fresh, tasty and quick without seeming too rushed.

i was lost and driving in circles when I saw this place. I went in and got some chicken soft tacosnand they ROCKED. The pico is fresh and the tortillas are yummy. The employees were super nice. I cold have sat there all day and watched the god given truth that Fox News serves up on the slimey, criminal left and the ssheisty Obama administration. Greatness all the way around, food and atmosphere.

I was so glad to see a Tin Star opened within walking distance to my office. They have consistent, good food at reasonable prices.

Thank the lord something else opened up in my ‘hood that wasn’t going to set me back $ 20 for lunch… Overall a small, solid little place to eat, go through your Facebook updates, and get back to work. I tend to like my foods a little on the simple side, so I normally stick to the traditionals they offer… but they’ve got all kinds of specialty tacos as well. I’ve had breakfast and lunch there and don’t have any complaints: soft tacos have always been soft, the rice and beans are seasoned well, eggs have never been wet, and my orders have always been correct. (Side note-its not like you have to pledge allegiance to Bill O Reilly before ordering; however there is a TV with the sound off on one of the walls that IS tuned to Fox News. Not surprising, given its location being across the street from the Crescent and the Ritz)

This is a solid lunch spot. What they lack in size of tacos they make up for in free warm chips and their salsa bar. I love free things, so sue me. They have 2 salsas, a corn salsa, lime and cilantro. I’ve ordered a variety of their specialty tacos but I like the #1 the best — steak, avocado, grilled onions, & jack cheese. This place shares its space with Paradise Café & Bakery. If you park in the garage make sure to grab a token on the way out.

I am not going to sit in a place and be entertained by Fox News. I ask the management to change the station to CNN or something less divisive. Pew Research says nearly 40% of what Fox News reports on politics is incorrect; they are Republican sycophants and inflammatory.

I was excited to hear a Tin Star opening near me because it’s another fast and easy place to get lunch(and fairly inexpensive too). There aren’t very many around here and you kind of get sick and tired of getting the same thing. There were a lot of menu items to choose from, but I finally decided on the BBQ Chicken Quesadilla. I called to place the order ahead of time(in case it was busy when I got there), and they said the order would be ready in 10minutes. That’s fast service for ya. So I got my lunch and there’s 4 small slices with some bbq sauce, fresh salsa, sour crea, and a small bag of chips n salsa. The bbq sauce is delicious! A little too sweet, but that’s okay. The quesadilla itself is great: I love the grilled onions and potatoes with the nicely grilled chicken. It has a sweet yet smokey taste. The chips and salsa are a nice touch to the meal because I can always snack on that later. The portion size is a bit small, but it’s only about $ 8(incl. tax)…not too bad, but if they had maybe another slice or two it would have been a 5-star rating for me! Otherwise, a great first experience at Tin Star! FYI: I tried to download the menu for this specific restaurant as well as order online, but the links aren’t working. If you go to their main page, there will be an «Our Menu» tab on the right — click on that to get the menu items. Also, you can get to the restaurant two ways: 1 is through Paradise Bakery, and 2 is through the side door directly into Tin Star. The 2 places are side by side, kind of like a mini food court but with only 2 places. And because there’s hardly any seating at Tin Star, I saw people ordering their food and sitting down at the tables in Paradise Bakery.
