It’s a cool enough bar. Nothing special but it’s because I grew up in the original 1st&10 off lovers and greenville so nothing will ever compare to that one, but overall, good bar.

Went here on a Wednesday, it was pretty empty so seating is ample. Lot of tv’s available. Service was pretty quick as soon as we sat. Got a burger, was a solid choice. Overall, pleased with the experience and would recommend.

A comfortable spot when you want to let your hair down and watch some sports. The place is definately suited to an older crowd so you can feel at ease that there wont be any of the meet market crowd looking for an appletini. Tons of tvs and a great bar staff. The food is good old fashioned bar food done fresh and right. I would avoid any complicated cocktails and stick to a beer or whiskey coke.

Cheap beers and fairly good smelling food(we didn’t eat) but the look of the people eating at the next table, they look like they are satisfied. We came here just to check it out because there was a 1st and 10 in Plano(it’s now closed) and we just want to see if it’s the same. It has the same feel but they have better staff in my opinion. The crowd here is older compared to the one in Plano. This is a great place for cheap beers and for watching games.

Something smells like sewage every time I have been in there. I was hungry for a hamburger but had to walk out. Couldn’t take the odor

Cheap drinks, friendly locals crowd and barkeep. They do serve food which looked pretty good for low priced bar grub. They also have trivia, lots of games and tons of low tables if you happen to want to bring in say 30 friends. Located in the strip mall northeast of the Mockingbird and Abrams intersection. Tons of TVs for sports watching too.

We love this place. This is my husband’s go to place in Lakewood to meet a friend for beer/sporting event. However, we sometimes go and take our kids with us for lunch and it’s always good and never awkward to have«kids in a bar». We see other kids in there typically. It started on Christmas Eve of 2009, when we had no family plans and decided we were craving fried pickles. Took our toddler with us. Thus, the tradition of «Christmas Eve pickles» was born and we’ve gone every Christmas Eve since. The waitress this year remembered us! The fried pickles are excellent, by the way. Anyway, we like that it’s utterly unpretentious, close to home, has a good burger and fries, and nice servers. Check it out!

A great strip-mall dive with excellent burgers and a metric shit-ton of TVs that feature all the sports, especially football. I’ve been here a handful of times for football games, and I know I’ve had serviceable wings here, but today was the first time I sat down and had a burger. And, boy, was it good! It also gave me an overwhelming sense of déjà vu(more on that later). Anyhow, I had lunchtime business in the neighborhood, so I wandered in and bellied up to the bar. The place was understandably empty, but it was stocked with a few regulars drinking and working. I knew I wanted a burger, so I ordered the«skinny» 7-oz cheeseburger, with cottage fries — the«regular» burger is a full ¾-lb behemoth. Lunch arrived in short order. The burger was perfectly cooked, and stacked with all the veggies between the patty and the bottom bun. This was an excellent burger — juicy, well-seasoned, with big onions slices, crispy pickles and iceberg lettuce, and fresh tomatoes. The cottage fries were thick and golden brown, and still retained their skin — some were crispy, some were still soft. The«skinny» burger was just about perfect for lunch. The big one would’ve put me down for the rest of the day. As I plowed through my burger, I suddenly realized why this all seemed familiar. The cottage fries. The build of the burger. And they called this beast The Point Burger. Was this place one of the original Point bars of Dallas? I had flashbacks to the Addison Point and the Midway Point. Hell, even the light fixture above the bar reminded of the cheesy 70s thing installed over the bar in the original Midway Point(and the Addison Point). Does anyone know the history of this place? Maybe next time I’ll ask around. UPDATE: I did a little digging, and it does appear that this place is related to the Point After in Old Town(at Lovers and Greenville, where Central Market is now). At some point, the place changed hands and the name changed to 1st&10. They moved when CM came in and tore down the whole block. Man, I’m such a dork. I’ll stop now.

Good atmosphere, clean, reasonable prices, and really good nachos and really good fried pickles; not overloaded with salt to where you can’t eat them. The bartender greeted us by name when we came in. Good place.

Little bar and grill, right near my office. Gotta say the burgers are AWESOME!!! thick, juicy, & flavorful. Priced right and quick for lunch — I will be back every time I am looking for a burger.

My buddy Dan and I lunched here today, and it was a fine luncheon experience: Ambiance: big barn layout with tables nicely spaced, and good natural light from open front windows. Copious TV’s filled with a wide range of sporting content, college football flags a flyin’, and quiet enough to converse with your tablemate. Food: Very respectable burger and fries — I got the 12 oz «point burger» for hust $ 1 more than the stock 7 oz burger, and it was quite tasty, cooked medium rare as ordered, with hot serviceable fries. Bonus: free pinto beans and hush puppies! Beer: $ 3.50 for standard American mass produced beer, and $ 4 – 5 for Lakewood Brewery stuff, a bargain for like-kind local pubs in the ‘hood. I will be back, next time there’s a suitable game on that my cable package is not good enough to deliver to my home tube, or I’m hungry for a big solid el burgo and a cold one.

Drinks are reasonable– $ 4 wells, $ 8.50LIT(all sweet and sour– super hit or miss) Great service even on a busy night. Simple bar food menu but plenty of options and food is surprisingly good. Between the 2 times we have been here, tried the burger– substantial, turkey club, cheese fries, and jalapeño poppers– spicy but made in house rather than frozen like most places. Eveything is delicious. Also the«cottage fries» are house made potato chips, fyi.

First time visit. I met my wife here after her Weight Watchers meeting for a quick drink after a long day. We ended up splitting a burger and salad(did I mention Weight Watchers?). I got there early and had the chips, salsa and a Lone Star. First of all, the service was excellent. Our waitress(I think her name was Kendra) was attentive, efficient and friendly without being obtrusive. The food was good and the beer was cold. I am having trouble picking up the vibe of this place. It is primarily a sports bar. But there were, when I was there, a number of senior couples were enjoying a night out together. There was a group in the corner which I pegged as a renegade bible study group. Plus the bar was packed with what appeared to be regulars. Sports, Seniors, Religion, Regulars? My mind is boggled.

Great place for watching a game. Lots of tv’s. Manager and waitstaff were nice and professional. Food was pretty good too. Laid back and easy going. No Affliction or Tap Out anywhere to be seen.

Although I have to agree with folks as there are a ton of tvs(good sight lines) and the food is ok(not great). However, dont walk in the place expecting to watch another fball game when UT is on. You wont stand a chance of them changing the channel to another game — even on the TV(s) buried in the corner. I asked, «So you cant even change this one tv to another televised game when UT is on ALL these other TVs are showing the game?». My response was something sh**** like, these people have come here expecting to watch UT. My retort was«If there money is better than mine, then cash me out and dont expect a tip»! Havent been back since… Refuse to go to a sports bar that wont accommodate customers(who, btw, supported the place when it first opened as I have friends that are SMU coaches and they asked me to support this new bar that opened). Not any more.

I’m ok with everything about this place. Never in a million years would I expect to find this place in a shopping center next to Steinmart but it is pretty sweet. Tons of TVs, great beer selection, standard bar food and the best part? It is about as laid back as it gets. Nobody is here to puff up their chest or show off their skills in ripping shots which makes it different from most Dallas sports bars. Take a seat at the bar, kick back and watch your favorite sports team play!

I believe in the concept of the neighborhood bar, somewhere that is friendly and unimposing… where the clientele reflects the demographics of the surrounding neighborhood… where you would be completely comfortable spending a couple of hours slapping the back of the patron next to you whenever the home team hits it out of the park, makes a basket, scores a touch down or throws the first punch. I get it… stars and stripes and apple pie. I just don’t see Lakewood’s 1st&10 as this type of place. Anyone who lives in East Dallas knows that we are fanatics about supporting our locals. Throw«Lakewood» in front of the name and we would be lining up for high cholonics. But even at that, I can’t quite feel good about this place. It is dark… really dark… always dark. It’s carpeted, paneled and smells like stale beer. There is always a fair sized group of regulars. On a recent Saturday, I went with a friend for lunch, and couldn’t quite get passed the overwhelmingly depressing feeling that this was the Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Fairly routinely, a guy would walk in alone, sidle up to the bar, order a beer and chit chat with his friends, and you knew he was settling in for hours and hours. You also knew that this is what he did every Saturday about 11:30 a.m., and probably every Sunday too. Nikki said she was expecting an «old man bar» but found a much hipper, cooler place. Maybe its timing, because«old man bar» seems to describe 1st&10 well. I just can’t embrace this place… and the food is meh.

Lakewood’s 1st&10 is a typical, sports bar with a copious amount of large screen TVs angled down at the tables as if we were in an actual stadium. The scene is sensational: football fans crowded around tables with pitchers of bar without any concern for comfort or their surroundings. As I walked through the sea of football jerseys, I quickly realized this bar’s purpose is primarily for football season fanatics. I can’t really envisioning it beckoning party-goers for a night out on the town, however the name of the bar — in of itself — is all you need to know. It’s a bar to watch football with your fellow fans, drink beer, and don your favorite team’s colors.
