I just don’t understand this chain. The service is terrible, the organization is none existent. The Food isn’t good either and it’s expensive for quick service. There is never anyone to help you. Also because it’s the oddest Quick Service style restaurant i’ve been to, it seems like they just can’t figure out how to run their business. This location and others i’ve been to are all pretty much the same. Usually there is a line and nobody knows what is going on and the menus are hard to find if they have any… Specific to my latest experience: I had just a bowl of soup, white bean with vegetable. It tasted metallic like it came from a can. Oh wait it probably did and i paid them $ 6 for it… what a great french bakery… NOT!

Stopped in this morning, before my flight. The coffee was good, the pastry looked amazing(although I didn’t try any), and breakfast was tasty. How do you make a simple omelet(mushroom, chicken and spinach) and croissant taste so good? I’m only sorry I didn’t have enough time to sit and relax.

French version of Panera bread. Good prices good food. Small portions. If you are expecting a copy of Panera then you will be pleased. Not an upscale café by any means. Recommend for lunch or a light dinner. Looks like it would be good for kids.

This is my favorite bistro in America. End of story. Best tomato basil and grill chicken salad I have ever had.

I visit this location a few times a week and have embarrassingly done so for about two months. I’ve come to know some of the employees and they are quite sweet and obviously the food has been good as often as I frequent this establishment.(Reason for 2 stars) The quality of food is changing. The taste is fine, it’s the portion I take issue with. I understand portion control must be in place, but someone is obviously skimping. Tonight, I got the tiniest half sandwich and my soup cup wasn’t even full. The sandwich I ordered prior to tonight’s visit, I was convinced they ran out of chicken salad as lightly as it was spread. I essentially ate a lettuce and tomato sandwich. I’ll spend money on food elsewhere. I’m hungry!

I’ve been to a different La Madeleine location before(near Preston) and had a decent experience. At this location, I was immediately confused as to where to go to order. You enter the building and there is no signage to direct you to the right person/area to order. I ended up at the to-go counter, but got redirected by a waiter to give my order to a gentleman with an iPad of some sort. I chose one of the lunch combos and was supposed to get soup, but, again, it was unclear as to whether you pay beforehand or got your soup first. I ended up finding out that I needed to stand in a cafeteria type line to get my soup and then pay. The cashier forgot to give me a water glass(even though she asked what I wanted to drink) and then seemed annoyed when I came back to get it a few minutes later. The food was mediocre. For $ 8, I got a water, half a sandwich(which was SUPER tiny and mostly just bread), small fruit bowl, and a minuscule cup of soup. As with any place on Lemmon, good luck finding a parking spot. In summary: I’d like to think I’m not an idiot, but this place made me confused as hell. I’m not sure if the workers were just not being attentive enough or if the place is set up oddly, but either way, I won’t be back.

Like many others have said. I made the mistake of giving this La Mads another chance. They never have any good deserts left. It’s only 7:00pm!

My husband and I ate here yesterday. They don’t have a customer service email to write to, so I’ll recount this experience here. I had often come here working with local DISD teachers as a coach, but I won’t be anymore. As we sat down to eat, the man next to us spilled his water on his table and the floor. We jumped up to help, grabbing napkins, and saw no La Madeleine staff in sight. My husband walked away for a minute to seemingly grab a staff member. When he came back, he had a towel. He told me that when he went up to a staff member for help, «do you have a rag? There’s a spill here,» the staff member handed MYHUSBAND a towel, but did not come by herself to clean up anything. My husband, who recently had back surgery, was not about to get on the floor, so he helped wipe up the table and we both went back to eating, water still all over the floor next to us. And would you believe it? The same man’s wife spilled HER water at the nearby table they moved to just second later. Guess who never came by? ANY La Madeleine staff! We sat there for 20 minutes– I saw one staff member wipe off the second table. No one ever cleaned up the floors. One other staff member brought a wet floor sign over to the second table, but no one mopped anything at all during that time period. I’m glad no one slipped and fell. What horrible staff and service!

For years I heard the name La Madeleine and assumed some fancy french place where I wouldn’t be allowed in without a suit and tie on. But over the last couple years I’ve enjoyed many a duet magnifique with gym shorts on. This place is great for dine in or take out, quick, cheap, tasty. You can’t go wrong getting several of the different menu items, but you must must MUST try the tomato basil soup(reading the nutrition facts not recommended for the faint of heart).

This review is not based on the food or service. Because everything was fine until we were trying to find a table to sit at. There was pieces of food everywhere on the tables/chairs/floor… It got to the point where I didn’t even want to eat there so we took our meals to go.

Hey, it’s La Madeline. The little French fast-casual chain. Nothing exciting about it, right? Well you can get some mean Tomato Basil soup and a decent takeout Croque Monsieur. But I’m mainly posting this review because most people don’t know that some La Madeline’s have a great little private meeting space for groups. And it’s cheap! It’s great for small meetings, study groups, book clubs, and World of Warcraft gatherings. OK. I made the last one up. The private space easily holds up to 30 people. And it’s only $ 50 to reserve. The WiFi is blazing fast. Just be sure to book in advance because apparently there’s lots of aggressive book clubs out there who reserve it!

Great lunch spot! Cheap, delicious and semi healthy! The location on Lemmon is the best. Tomato basil and chicken Caesar is a must!

The food here is really good and they make your to go order fast. I got the chicken pesto sandwich with pasta and i would recommend you try it. Parking is kind of limited and a little confusing to enter in. The first entrance to this place is the exit and the second the entrance. It’s also hard to back out of your parking spot.

I recently made the mistake of giving this place a third chance. They just can’t seem to get with the program. As I approached the counter to order, the lady looked me in the eye then went in the back. Her co worker waved her to the front and 2 – 3 mins later she came out of the back carrying stuff! Really? The food was ok but the place was cold and the floor plan /layout never has felt right Go somewhere else!

This location has been here for a very long time but you won’t find the great food any different than any other Ls Madeleine. Parking can be a bit of a challenge but thankfully they have added some on the rear end of the building. The food is always fresh and the service is always friendly. Our favorites are any of the salad and the chicken friand.

I hadn’t been to La Madeleine in maybe 2 years. We randomly drove by and decided to stop in. This last time I ordered the trio. You’re able to select 3 small soup or salad options. I chose the French onion soup without the cruton, chicken salad and strawberries romanof. All were so good, light but filling! The French onion soup was so good, I was kicking myself for not ordering just a bowl of that! Service is very friendly here and they’re pretty quick at clearing tables. The restaurant is pretty small. If you go during lunch hours prepare to wait a little bit for a table but it’s definitely worth visiting.

Always come here for a good salmon Caesar salad as well as the tomato basil soup. For some reason, the past 2 times we came here for breakfast, it came out cold and undercooked. We are sticking to panera’s or dream café!

How can anyone not love La Madeleine? Have you ever had breakfast there? It’s awesome. Also, they have a seasonal turkey/dressing/cranberry sandwich this time of year. I don’t even like those items outside of a sandwich, really, but this sandwich is to fuckin’ die for. Get that next time you go, really. This location has character and everyone has always been nice to me, but parking is a total bitch… if I can’t find a spot in the side lot I just don’t eat La Madeleine that day. –1 star for the shit parking situation. ;)

This review is solely based on the dessert I recently had here which was according to the 2 stars I gave, not to my liking. I ordered the individual sized fruit tart which is typically my standard dessert order when I dine at La Madeleine in general. I normally don’t have any complaints but at this location the crust on this tart was inedible. It was ridiculously hard to the point where I couldn’t even break off a piece to eat with the rest of the tart. My fork couldn’t even make a dent in the bottom of the crust which is normally the thinner area. Basically I had fruit with custard in bowl. I did give this place an extra star because I like the layout and location of it. It’s within walking distance of my job which is nice and it’s fairly large where I don’t have a struggle finding a seat when I come within normal lunch hours. The staff is very polite and they take orders fairly quickly. However, I will not be having the fruit tart here ever again and i don’t recommend you order it either.

I have mixed feelings about La Madeleine. Maybe if I’d tried the chicken Caesar salad I’d have had a better experience, but as I do not like Caesar dressing, that wouldn’t have gone over well either… I think I like their breakfast best. I’ve tried quite a few breakfast dishes. During this last visit I tried the Chicken La Madeleine. It was teeny and the chicken was super dry. After I ate I realized that they never included the mushroom sauce with the dish. And deep down I am convinced that a piece of chicken was missing from my plate. See my picture if you don’t know what I mean. Prices are hit or miss. Some Items are reasonably priced, but other items that you have to order separately can be kind of expensive. Once, for a staff birthday, I was in charge of paying for someone’s food. She’d ordered some very basic items like an omelet, then a side of fruit and some orange juice and next think I know her order alone was like $ 20. Um. no. If you are a large party, try to get the room in the back reserved. We didn’t know that was an option, and put two tables together to accommodate our group. The regular dining area is of course cozy. I have to share that we were reprimanded. Our party of ten was told to quiet down after apparently some other guests thought we were too loud. This was irritating. We were celebrating someone’s birthday and I suppose our gales of laughter were just too much for some people. *eye roll* Um, hello, this is La Madeleine, a café-type eatery. This is not Wolf Gang Puck’s, okay. Calm down. Besides, large group=large order=more money for your establishment. Bless the employee who had to be the bearer of that bad news. He was nice and friendly and attended to our table pretty well. All in all, La Madeleine is just OKAY. Best things I’ve had and could eat time and again are the croque monsieur and the free bread and jam.
