This place is so much fun! Love exploring all the different options! It’s hard to choose just one item for lunch!

This is probably one of my favorite places in Uptown. Talk about variety and the most difficult decision is trying to figure out what you’re in the mood for. That’s a problem when you’re indecisive like myself. Bread, cheese, wine, cakes, sandwiches, salads… the list is endless. The way the market is setup is also quite beautiful. As you walk in, you see bread or pizza being baked on your right and some beautiful lasagna or chicken on your left. Heaven right? I can’t even begin to talk about the smell of bread baking or chicken roasting. It’s crazy. My taste buds go crazy from the minute I step in. The red velvet cake is honestly the best red velvet cake I’ve had. I even bought it for my coworkers one day and they said the same. Their breads are also very good. The salads are delicious and the options for toppings are endless. The sandwiches are even better, especially with the basil cream spread. On Fridays, they have great pizza deals and it gets pretty busy in there. The staff is very helpful and know their stuff. It can be quite pricey if you don’t go in with a plan, but it’s so worth it.

I had blasted EatZi’s pretty back in 2013 about their crude unprofessional staff at the sandwich station. I think it’s fair to say that the staff members I was referring to are all gone now. I have started going back to EatZi’s as of late and the staff has all been very professional. In terms of food, everything is pretty decent, if not a bit pricey. Some of the Sushi can be found at similar prices to Kroger. Still, the sandwich bar is what really makes this place shine. A grilled chicken sandwich with basil cream on bone bread is about as good of a sandwich as you will find anywhere.

So I’ve driven or ridden past this place hundreds of times and never bothered to even figure out what it was because their sign is so ugly. Turns out: it’s one of the classiest little places to grab lunch or an easily-prepared dinner. Fresh ingredients everywhere, lots of options: salad, sandwich, sushi, cheese plates, coffee, burgers, tacos, etc. I didn’t even make it to the middle section where all of their more complex gourmet items reside. Definitely stop in for lunch sometime and see how this little spot can make your dining life a little easier.

Loveeeee coming here for lunch. EatZi’s is part grocery store and part restaurant. I usually come here if I’m in need of a dish to bring to a potluck party and the employees are sooooo helpful. I’ve never experienced bad customer service each time I come here. Certain items could be a little pricey but in the end its worth it. My favorite items would be the ground turkey meatloaf and the sandwiches. They provide a great selection of on-the-go meals and offer a healthy option as well. The wine selection is great too! Making the decision to go to Eatzi’s always leads to good thing! I recommend everyone to try it at least once!

eatZi’s is one of those places that is so popular and well known that everyone just sort of assumes it’s a nationwide chain(it’s not, and while there used to be Atlanta and Chicago locations it’s now confined to DFW). That’s a testament to how good of a job eatZi’s does; and while I can appreciate the diversity of options, I can’t say that the quality at eatZi’s is enough to sway me away from the likes of Central Market and Whole Foods. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Contrary to what the neon signage out front might imply, eatZi’s has a nice mom and pop vibe on the inside. Stations and queues are orderly and the process moves quickly thanks to everything being well-staffed. What more could you ask for? Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Prices at eatZi’s are on par with those of Whole Foods and Central Market, and there’s definitely some great value here. I opted for a large sandwich at the sandwich bar for $ 10.00, and as you can see this was certainly more than enough to feed two or count as two meals. Other items ranging from pasta to salads and breakfast items are priced comparably, and there was nothing(unlike Whole Foods) that made me think«are you kidding me?» That’s a value win. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? While the wide range of sandwich options was impressive, it was here that the quality fell a bit short. Here’s a quick breakdown of my sandwich: — Wheat Bonebread — Hot Pepper Spread — Mayo — Lettuce — Turkey Pastrami While the wheat bonebread was worthy of awards(as were all the other breads based on what I was seeing), the turkey pastrami was painfully dry, and the other meats(they’re all right there in front of you) appeared significantly dried out as well. This was helped a bit by the mayo and pepper spread, but at the end of the day I still found myself with a very dry sandwich. Another gripe came in the form of topping selection, and while the basic were here, I longed for options like jalapenos, banana peppers, etc. All in all, a good sandwich, but not a great one. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? If we were only talking about variety here? Yes, but quality is key, and my experience at eatZi’s left a bit to be desired in that department. No Star Granted.

I LOVEEATZI’S!!!(Yes I’m shouting this as I type!) Growing up in Houston we had one in the area we used to visit frequently but since then it has been shut down. On my recent trip to Dallas upon discovering they had a couple of locations, I instantly got excited. Walking into this small space, you almost don’t even know where to start because everything looks delicious. From the vast selection of cheese to the delicious desserts to the hot food, there’s tons to choose from. I decided on one of the enormous sandwiches which are made to order, a slice of cheesecake and a lemonade. A little pricey at close to $ 20 but worth every penny. I settled on a turkey and turkey pastrami(first time ever hearing of the two combined) sandwich on the bone bread with a pesto cream spread. I devoured it. My lemonade and cheesecake were also awesome. Can’t wait to come back here!!!

Pros: Great place to grab meals on the go. Moist tasty cakes. Needed a red velvet cake for my sister’s birthday. We didn’t get one big enough to write on, but the ingenious lady behind the bakery counter made me a banner out of a cookie. Great thinking. Cons: Too bad the ones in Houston closed. Not close to either of the two cities that I live in.

Undoubtedly one of my favorite spots for lunch or dinner(never really had any breakfast options there). If you go anywhere around the business lunch hour(12−1pm), be prepared for a lot of traffic and a plethora of people trying to find something to eat. EatZi’s provides the foodie with many options: ranging from salads to sandwiches to sushi, or even freshly prepared foods that can be heated up in their ovens. Every meal I have had there(which is far more than the 6 times I have checked-in), has been delightful. If you check the prices too, you can leave without breaking the bank for lunch. My only negative notion about the joint is that the service there is subpar. Most people are short-tempered and seem unwilling to give you a smile. Everyone now and then someone gives great service, which makes the experience all the better. Nonetheless, the fact that you feel like you are walking into an Italian market with all the meats hanging and the fresh bread smell seeping into your nostrils is truly a wonderful experience. It is a must try for any Dallasite. ~I came, I saw, I ate~

Absolutely love this place. Pretty much everything is amazing and fresh The only place I don’t mind paying $ 12 for a salad, regular old Caesar salad is my go to Pair that with their citrus water that they have for free and you have an amazing lunch. I love there for Friday special of a pizza and a bottle of wine for $ 25, makes it for Friday night meal so simple and less of a hassle of what to eat or where to go Highlights: Caesar salad, citrus water, corn bread, mozzarella tomato pasta

Ok– I returned as promised for lunch and it took me forever to decide on what to eat. So many choices! I finally landed on a turkey sandwich with cranberry– orange bread out of the«to go» lunch section. It was good, it would have been better fresh made but I knew that going in. Real quality ingredients. We sat outside– pigeons are an issue. So complete honesty — I went back for dinner. It took me forever to decide what to eat, again. This time I dipped out of the chef case and warmed it up in the microwave and ate indoors. I’m still impressed with the quality. I had the roasted sweet potatoes with lime. They are spicy and very satisfying. This place is a win for me. I’ll be frequenting the deli case as the whole grocery shopping– cooking thing has grown tiresome.

I’m torn because I have a love/hate relationship with eatZi’s. Here’s my I love you /I love you not list: Love: + the gourmet style market + the quality ingredients + the freshness + the samples + the desserts + the red dot special(from 9−10pm daily some of the prepared foods are BOGO) Hate: — Prices — Prices — Prices When I feel like splurging I go to during the red dot special hour to ensure at least I’m getting a little bit of a deal. The products are great, but the foods are a bit steep for my wallet.

This place is just so fun! We came here after a long day when no one felt like cooking but neither did we have the energy to agree on a restaurant. Everyone could get whatever they felt like eating, all in one place. I got a made-to-order sandwich, my mom and my boyfriend both got made-to-order salads, my dad got a few interesting sides and salads from their deli, including couscous and stuffed grape leaves. I picked up a few bars of my favorite Dr. Sue’s Chocolate(So glad they sell that here!) and made note of the pizza and sushi and many other options for the next time I just feel like picking up some quality pre-made food. It’s a little bit on the pricey side, and it feels kind of like a hectic free-for-all when you’re trying to figure out where to order and where to pay and who you have to elbow past to get where you’re going, but overall it’s a great option and I’m glad to have finally tried it.

This place is like Christmas. A food christmas– pure bliss, everything you could want and more. From the opera music to the beautiful food displays, my heart was singing! Why you should visit eatZi’s: Don’t let the terrible name fool you, this place is home to a bounty of prepared foods and eats that will make you star of any dinner party. I especially enjoyed the fresh vegetable salads I purchased during my visit. Plenty of samples to help you make the big decision.

Have I been transported to a the land of deep italy, where copious amounts of meat hang from the walls, cheeses are plentiful and the smell of fresh baked bread fills my nostrils with every step? Then there’s the desserts and the fresh cuisine available for purchase for an afternoon lunch or a take home meal. As I slow dance through the aisles, the sound of opera encapsulates my ears and pushes me along woo-ing me towards the wines and oh, perhaps the dessert, that’s what I came for! I would visit this place over and over if time were not a factor in my short visit to Dallas, Texas. I looked up many cake places in hope of finding a beautifully made cake for my brothers(x2) birthday. Many cake shops were unable to make cake on such short notice, or could not accommodate our needs, but eatZi’s did. I would love to speak for the atmosphere, which was astounding, like I entered a different era in time. I would also like to speak for the tower of power cake which was incredible and looked great! It’s a popular item here and I would highly recommend it for any occasion! They will personalize it for you and it is absolutely delicious. The staff are so nice and helpful, if I were to visit Dallas again, I would definitely use my time to explore this store some more and try all the foods!
