How is this place still open? I ate here for the first time in 3 years with high hopes for improvement since my last visit. My overpriced«burger» was 90% stale bun 10% bland beef. There’s so many better burger places in Dallas. Spend your money elsewhere.

Ordered chili cheese fries to go. Received a side of chili, a Kraft single slice, and a side of fries. Very disappointed.

Burger was runny and fell apart immediately., had to eat with a fork. Paid four dollars for four onion rings. Atmosphere is decent but not enough to override the underwheling quality of food.

Just found a dead fly in my Jake’s Special. It was stuck in the lettuce. I ate almost the entire burger before I found it and now I’m just trying not to puke. This is so gross. I come here for a great burger and now it’s ruined for me. The manager came over and apologized and comp’d the meal, but I can’t eat here ever again.

We stopped in for lunch and both ordered the Burger of the Month, the Frito Pie Chili Cheese Burger. The burgers were awesome, perfectly done and the toppings were really a great combination. The beer was cold, although they did not have anything in the way of a stout, and the service was attentive and friendly. We’ll definitely go back, maybe even this month for the same burger… it was that good.

Wow! We just had to walk out of there. We sat down and it took a full 10 minutes to be acknowledged. After placing drink orders the waitress said the bar was backed up but there was no one there. We sat another 20 minutes after the food was ordered and still no drinks. No food either. We finally walked out. That was really bad.

Burgers are ok… I think they are way overpriced and totally overrated. A burger, cheese fires and 2 beers was over $ 30… Not worth it! I rather go to Keller’s and pay less than half for a better burger

I have to sadly say I don’t even recognize the Jake’s that I used to love. Last time I ate there I got a lot of dirt in my salad, the general manager did nothing after she was told about it. The two bartenders that made it worth going there were both let go. Every employee except one that has been good is gone, all since she took over. I went from going over a few times a week to now only going if my boyfriend needs to check his email with their wifi. Sad it used to be enjoyable…

Feel in love with blue cheese burgers. Cheese fries could be better. Not a place for drinks only beer or shots

Its hard to say if it was 4 stars or 5 stars. We came in and sat down with 35 people for a bicycle riding group, had a beer or two, then got up and went outside to hold a short 20 minute business meeting. When I came back in I found my schooner had a cardboard coaster on it, as a sure sign from our waitstaff for the busboys to not take it’s half filled content away in our absence. After the short meeting, we came back and sat and talked and got more attentive drink service, then we ordered our food. The burger was on par with the Jake’s that was on Parker Rd in Plano just west of Central a couple of years back, but the architecture of this location was a whole lot nicer than the recycled Plano location of days gone by. I didn’t get an ice cream shake so its hard to tell about that part, but the craft beer service was expedient and various in selection at reasonable pint prices, and I was never in want of anything. The double meat burger was good I thought, but maybe it was all that craft beer that was talking there. Hard to tell. The wait staff did not blink an eye for two long tables with 35 people seated yacking away hours on end, and for some reason our tabs didn’t have the obligatory 15% added, but maybe it was because we tip good as we had been there before en mass. Anyway, I was a bit surprised heading out to this event for 1) to see the low review with the semi-rude comments on service, but i am sure mileage will vary across nights(this was a Thursday), and 2) the food rated down, as I was familiar with the usual hamburger stop from the past when it was on Parker Rd. I thought I would find a run down est Dallas version of a burger joint in an old building with stinking drains, but instead I came onto a new building with nice appointments, and friendly and attentive staff. If any fault can be had it is that they only have 40 some odd parking slots, but much more table space than that. At any rate, we had a good time, and the location was good for groups w separate checks, but don’t cheap out and abuse them on their tip as they will not stick you for the group rate on it, but merely expect you to dial it up as you see fit. Calling a week ahead will help if you have the foresight on it for a group event, if not then maybe you should all be going to Denny’s.

Best sports bar in the area. Food is pretty much always spot on. Service varies esp on busy patio days. Plenty of TVs showing all events. Patio is dog friendly!

This was my first time to the Henderson location, my wife and I walked in to an empty hostess stand, but we’re quickly greeted. As we walked to the table I thought to myself, wow this place is much more roomy and nicer than the Mckinney Ave location. We sat down and we’re told a server would be with us shortly. We ordered tea and root beer, a different server than the one that took our order brought Dr. Pepper and Tea. Not what was ordered. Not a big deal I said I’ll just drink the Dr. Pepper. She apologized for the mix up and walked away. 5 minutes goes by… normal 15 minutes goes by… not so normal 25 minutes goes by… un acceptable. This place had 4 people sitting at the bar, at the very most 8 tables with people at them, and the servers had enough time to linger at other table and hold long conversations with their guests, but somehow some way we were totally ignored. My wife and I have never ever walked out of anywhere. We decided that if Jakes didn’t want our business then we wouldn’t stay to give it to them. As we were walking out, the very cute and very friendly girl that brought our drinks said«Bye guys, thanks for coming in!» We simply said thank you and left. As we were walking to the car my wife said«does she really think we ordered, ate, and actually dined in that sort of time» I messaged a guy I know about the bad service and his reply was«yea, you have to sit at the bar» I’ll stick to the other location, Henderson Jakes is horrible service

Great location, nice patio. Service was efficient. The bathroom was pretty clean. That’s the one star. Ordered the turkey burger. It was reminiscent of a cafeteria burger from elementary school. In other words, frozen patty with no flavor. And that’ll be $ 9.19. Really? No crafting. No creativity. No flavor… did I say that already. How can that be for a place that has Best Burgers On The Planet printed on their basket liners. Shredded lettuce. I prefer a crisp leaf of lettuce. And I do like poppy seed buns but these were like dredged in poppy seed. Too much. But they have plain buns. A complete misappropriation of my time, calories and money. Trust the reviews. Will not be back simply because the food is not good. Next time I will decline the invite, not to be rude but I’m a bit of a food snob. Lol.

Tried to charge my friends card for a transaction that didn’t happen. Then when it came time to settle the charge the manager wouldn’t credit card back and told us to refute the charge with our company rather than get it credited at the time

Worst service I have experienced in Dallas in a long time. My wife and I just got up and walked out due to no one bothering to come out to the patio to wait on us. My wife overheard the two girl waiters saying«Why are they sitting outside? Do you wanna go outside?» The other girl answered«Uh no» with attitude when she was walking to the bathroom. So yea we basically left for being treated like crap. Didn’t even get a menu. Won’t be coming back. Plenty of other restaurants in Dallas to even waste my time.

There are some stellar burgers in Dallas, so Jake’s burgers aren’t worth more than 2 stars, even though they would get 3 stars in any other city. The burgers are thin, pan fried, and overcooked/dry. Size wise, the thickness is more than MickeyD’s and less than 5 Guys, but bigger in diameter than both of those. The poppy seed bun was thin and boring(but not soggy since the burgers were overcooked). It seemed like most burgers came with some sort of BBQ sauce, which isn’t my thing. The malt was good, but no better than any other malt I’ve had anywhere else. The service was really good and the reason for the extra star. The place was packed for a Friday lunch(which is unusual for most places in the area), and the servers were busy. Our server checked on us multiple times, which is impressive for the burger places in Dallas, particularly given how busy they were.

This is the first time I’ve been here and I give it a thumbs up for being a sports bar. It has plenty of tvs to watch and a nice bar– if your in to that type of thing. From the door to the table they welcomed you in and the service was great. My server– Sarah B was nice and checked to see if I needed anything often. Jake’s burger and onion rings with tea was awesome. Can’t be mad at it.(Note-look like it was a fire house-but it could be me)

What can one say about Jake’s, for some reason a «Dallas institution»? Many locations exist around the Metroplex, this one about midway down on Henderson with a way-too-small parking lot. All share the standard sports bar layout and patio with lots of televisions and young female waitstaff. Discussing Jake’s food is rather pointless, as the entire unoriginal menu comes straight out of the Sysco frozen, pre-prepared catalog. While the dishes may be served warm and fresh, there’s nothing here that didn’t come by way of a freezer and deep fryer. Had the Jalapeño Bottle Cap burger, which includes the fried jalapeño coins(other places an appetizer) with pre-formed patties and a slice of American processed cheese, with a side of seasoned fries. The only originality here was the poppyseed bun. Is the food decent? Yes, in the same way I’d say a Whataburger meal was decent. Maybe it’s OK to pay a premium just to hang out at a generic sports bar and watch the game — maybe that’s all Jake’s aspires to be. It’s fine as convenience(fast) food but I’m afraid the quality stops right there. No problems with the service but given the typical staffing, I’m not surprised at some of the other comments. It may be a local business but there are much better options easily available.
