So much better than J Blacks, the bar they replaced. They have several craft beers on tap, but not enough. I had something that was like a Ruben, but I hated it. No Russian dressing, but instead something made from Saurkraut. It was not good. My buddy really liked his chicken sandwich. Our server was super nice(and super hot). A little on the loud side for my taste. Plenty of other places within walking distance. Parking is a drawback as valet is likely your only option. We took an Über there, so that wasn’t an issue. Cool place.

1. The food is the best bar food I’ve ever had, and it’s not even close. The cauliflower soup is excellent. The double stack burger reminds me of a higher quality Jake’s burger. I was afraid the corned beef grilled cheese would have dry beef but it was delicious. People I was with absolutely loved the fried chicken and the smoked salmon. Even something as simple as chips and peanuts are done perfectly — the chips are homemade and bacon flavored and the nuts have a delicious chipotle lime seasoning. You can tell they put a lot of thought and effort into the menu and food quality. 2. Bartenders and servers are very personable and helpful. They make a point of remembering your name and engaging in conversation. This is par for the course with this ownership group. 3. Great space — the large center bar is perfect and I’m really looking forward to patio season here. Lots of cool stuff on the walls, including an enormous, gorgeous hand painted mural. Free shuffleboard table and darts. Good TV setup — it’s not a sports bar but if you don’t need sound and want to watch a game in the background this place will work. 4. Beer selection is good. Probably about 20 beers on tap. Prices are inoffensive. Bartenders know the menu and provide good recommendations. This is now my go to place if I have friends or family in town. Love it!

Amazing food!!! The turkey club and the cauliflower soup are the best I’ve ever had. Dallas is home to lousy service but this bar exceeded our expectations every time. Always great service with an extremely personable staff which is so refreshing given Dallas’ pretentious bar staff elsewhere. Great place, give it a try for sure.

Amazing service. Jessie, you’re great!;) Awesome drink selections and food selections!!! It is top notch. I have had : Cauliflower and cheese soup — delicious!!! And I don’t even eat cauliflower. Garden salad — Fresh and crisp. Ranch dressing was tasty. One of the boards w cheese, duck, chicken liver, grapes, and an assortments of bread/crackers. It was fabulous! Cheese’s were so yummy and so was the duck! All around loved it. Duck leg entrée — Down to the bone delicious. Amazing. Tomato soup — was not as good as the other soup but I don’t know if I’m a big tomato soup person. Fried mussels– just yummmmmmmmmm!!! I think we had French fries here too that were the bomb. All in all. This is our new spot. Great seating, lighting, cooling/heating, entertainment, service and food!

This place has great drinks, service, and is a perfect place to chill with a date or friends. Ask for Elizabeth when you want a drink. Not only is she exquisite with her recommendations and mixology service, but she cares about customer service. I definitely plan to come here again.

This place is great(a huge improvement from the old J Blacks)! We came here on Halloween, sat at the bar and had a couple drinks and snacks. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The one gentleman that waited on us was very passionate about their concept. He told us everything is made in house and when we got our food, you could tell. We ordered the pâté, cured salmon and the fried chicken biscuits. While they we’re all delicious, it was the fried chicken biscuits that stood out as fantastic. If you go(and you should) you absolutely must order them. We’ll be back very soon and I hope this place has a long life on Henderson.
