I like to spend my lunch hour at the Grauwyler Park. There’s a nice sidewalk track all the way around, and a good bit of it is in the shade of trees — my coworkers and I can walk around about three times in thirty minutes, and we spend the other thirty at one of the picnic tables behind the recreation center. There’s a fairly nice playground with swings for kids, and the sidewalk I mentioned walks right by the library! Great park in what’s otherwise a wasteland, at least when it comes to places to spend your tiny lunch hour.

This is actually a pretty nice park in an otherwise slightly unsavory part of town. There is a basketball court, a baseball field, a soccer field, a swimming pool, a playground with swings, and some nice greenspace with sidewalks you could jog around. There is a ‘recreation center’ which has a gym with weights. Some of the common space inside is used for things like early voting, and other community activities. The interior, however, smells of urine, which is why my rating isn’t five stars. Despite the stink, it’s a great rec center with lots of good programs for kids and adults alike.
