I am surprised by the reviews. I love this place. The china town is hands down my favorite thing here, throw some of there chili sauce on there and you’re set. And the egg rolls are so freaking good. It’s a hole in the wall type of restaurant and you just try it!

I eat food from here a lot. I just don’t eat it here. The place looks like a dump but the food is good and the price is good. It’s hard to find vegetarian hot & sour soup and theirs is really good. They get an diverse clientele(serves horchata and melon water in addition to fountain drinks). I get vegetable tofu and it’s good.

This place is bad, had the orange chicken which wasn’t really much chicken, just deep fried breading drenched in some sweet sauce. It was difficult to chew as it was tough. The fried rice was terrible. Honestly one of the worst Chinese fast food restaurants I’ve ever been to. Beware eating here.

Barely palatable egg rolls. I thought just maybe with a name like Eggroll Express at least the egg rolls would be good, nope they were definitely the frozen out of the box nastiness. The mongolian chicken was ok, they didn’t skimp on the veggies in any of the dishes, but they just didn’t taste that good. Won’t be back.

You get a ton of food and it doesn’t cost much. This might be why there’s on obesity epidemic in America that seems to disproportionately affect the poor. The service was good and the people are friendly. The food is made to order – not sitting in warming trays. I’ve had worse. And those are the highlights of Eggroll Express, a drive-through Chinese place that isn’t particularly bad and isn’t particularly memorable, either. I’m not a snob when it comes to cheap Chinese food. I’ve eaten at plenty of greasy, Americanized hole-in-walls. I even crave them sometimes. But this place is average. Or maybe slightly below. It’s not the worst thing in the world. It’s just completely blah.

GREAT drive thru ‘joint’. I had the chicken curry with DELICIOUS fried rice and most friend rices are horrible, this was surprisingly good. My partner had steamed vegetables with steamed tofu, again they were very accomodating. Suprising good for a drive thru fast food place.

All I can say is that it wasn’t terrible… but it was nowhere near good… I just had orange chicken and fried rice. And I’m well aware that this is a hole in the wall, fast-food chinese joint, so I’m not expecting too much. First off, the food is just way too salty. I’m not sure if they use MSG or not, but I don’t like overly salty food. I didn’t find it excessivley greasy as some people have reported, but it was certainly greasy enough. Could have just been that I had ordered a different item than they had. I probably won’t be going back to this place. I don’t think I’d have much luck with any of the other items on the menu. I will say that the service was very quick and friendly though. Just not enough to make me return.

The two other reviews gave it one star which surprised me. I live nearby and have been there maybe 30 – 40 times. I always get food to go either ordering inside or in the drive through. The portions are pretty large and prices are good — most are $ 5.25-$ 5.95. The food is not special but I have always found it fresh and OK. My girlfriend doesn’t like the food at all. Maybe she has more discriminating taste. There are several restaurants named Eggroll Express with a similar logo. I asked and they are not related. I haven’t been to any of the others.

This place is disgusting — definitely avoid it! The following quote from my dinner date pretty much sums it up, «My eggroll smells like dead animal». He was trying to waft the fumes my way but luckily I dodged it. The portions are very large, but unfortunately, the food was so gross, I passed on 75% of my meal and didn’t take a to go box. If you are in the mood for Asian, Thairrific is much better and only two blocks away. Hell, the $ 1.99 egg roll and rice place on the corner tops this street meat serving dump.

It’s a great place to go for a quick Chinese food fix. The dumplings are delicious(and they always put 7 in my order of 6) and every other dish I’ve had there was great. They’re really quick with turn around(I’m usually in and out in about 5 minutes) and are happy to take orders over the phone… even though you can’t understand the guy’s English, he’ll get your order right! It may be a little greasy, Monica, but it’s FASTFOOD! What do you expect? If you want gourmet, go sit your butt down and order somewhere else :-P
