Their pizza is as good as any other Neapolitan pizza in town, but the price is kind of ridiculous. The wine was especially ridiculous with a $ 15 quarto, which is basically just a generously poured glass. I live Neapolitan pizza, but I miss Firecrust. Cone back, please!

Awesome pizzas! We tried the veggie pizza and it was well cooked, the crust was nice and crispy but not hard. The veggies were nicely seasoned. I especially loved the addition of garlic in my pizza. It was delicious! We also tried the margarita pizza which was flavorful and yummy! The staff was attentive and nice.

The pizza was very good. Crispy light crust, tasty toppings(pepperoni & pepperocinni.) The cheese was a bit thin though. I would give it 5 stars but it’s a bit pricy for what you get(12″ two topping pizza cost me $ 20).

Second try revealed that floppy, soggy crust is apparently state of the art for Dough. Supposedly the problem the first time around was due to using dead or dying yeast. Too bad no changes were made or that no one PROOFED the yeast for viability. I’ve had better at the worst pizza chain which is mindboggling.

Food was too salty and service was subpar. Our waitress was unfriendly and unhelpful. Disappointing — we will not be back.

Everything tastes like salt. The flat bread was over salted the pork love pizza was over salted the salami e fungi pizza was over salted. We came here because we love the Dough in San Antonio. We left here throughly disappointed and in needed of a second bottle of their house filtered water that never came.

I love this place Best Neapolitan style pizza in dallas Pork love is the best on the menu but the marguerita is top notch I recommend the hot peppers on any of the pizzas if you like spicy like me The dough itself is perfect(hence the name) And they cook it just enough to have a slight crisp underneath and on the edges, but a nice soft texture when you bite into it They don’t leave it burnt on the edges and soupy in the middle like a certain deep ellum pizzeria. The burrata is delicious Sausage is made in house as well Half price bottles of wine on Wednesdays Casual/trendy and a full bar Pizza shop perfection IMHO

Prices are a little higher, but, if you want a pizza that is amazing and other menu items that will make you rethink going elsewhere. I have also been to the San Antonio location and this one is just as good. Anytime I am near one I will return.

I have NEVER went on Unilocal to write a bad review! I always just figure maybe they were having an off night. Again this may be the case, but still I find myself writing. I was extremely disappointed in the food I got here. Perhaps the best experiences are had in house, as with most places, but at about $ 45 for my order I expected much more than what I got. I ordered the Charred Romaine Salad, Polenta Lasagna, and the Preston Hollow Pizza. The salad was completely wilted and soggy by the time I opened it!(I live less than 5 minutes away) The«Polenta Lasagna» was what I would call undercooked cornmeal, with no flavor, DROWNED in marinara.(See picture) Now, on to the pizza… I wanted to love this pizza. Unfortunately, I did not. The crust was so soggy, when I picked up a slice ALL of the toppings just slid off! Speaking of toppings, there were maybe 3 – 4 pieces of pancetta(which I paid extra for), a ridiculous amount of onions, and sparse amounts of cheese. Maybe I did catch them on an off night, and that sucks, but I was absolutely not impressed. I don’t mind spending money for good food any time, but at this price, what I got was insanely not worth it. :/

I’ve been to Dough a few times and even brought my sister here when she came to visit. She loved it and whenever I’m on this side of town I will stop in and grab a pizza. This time I actually ordered a burrata and a pizza to go. However, when I saw the pizza I was really surprised. It looked like a personal pizza. I asked the bartender and a waiter if they are normally this size and they both agreed. However having eaten here and sharing a pizza with one other person majority of the time I know this is a lie. It really stunned me at how nonchalant they were and didn’t even bother to try and make me another one. Sadly, I won’t be going back.

Best pizza in Dallas! Try the Margherita for first timers. The dough is perfect, cheese is creamy and light. It’s a nice place to eat in or take out.

Pleasantly surprised to have stumbled upon this place tucked away in a strip center; but alas, I have found my Dallas pizza joint. One that cranks out pies in a wood burning oven while to result in the absolute perfect crust to topping ratio to allow light crispiness to an ever-so-flavorful dough. We were on a meat strike that day and was not able to delight in anything of the protein selections but man my cheese cravings were certainly flirted with from the buratta sampler and the margherita pizza. They make everything in house here and it certainly shows. The cheese tasted smooth and creamy and as I mentioned before, the pizza crust had a wonderful wood smoke flavor and was crispy throughout the entire pie. I will be coming back to try out the other array of selections.

Okay the place gets 5 stars for food. However, wait staff is annoying(one in particular). Abrupt, nosy and gossipy about other patrons. Not my style. That is a no-no in the service industry. Might consider carry out. Again, since food is really good. A shame, really. It could just be this one bartender. The others seem, attentive, alert actually annoyed by his behavior to –so want to be fair. He was game changer for our experience.

1st experience we liked it. Ordered the black garlic and mushroom pizza and then the preston hollow pizza. We requested extra basil. The basil was not baked into the pizza which we liked because who likes burnt basil. There was no extra charge for basil either. Given this great 1st experience, we decided to return only to be disappointed. Ordered the black garlic and mushroom pizza again $ 15 and then the margarita pizza $ 12 with extra basil. Basil was baked into pizza very burnt. Was charged $ 2 for extra basil. In addition, we ordered the spedini which is prosciutto wrapped mozzarella with arugula and tomatoes. Came with 3 pieces with no tomatoes or arugula but instead romaine lettuce… That was $ 10. Overall, we left highly unsatisfied given the hefty price we paid. I highly suggest visiting the canne rosso in Lakewood instead which uses buffala on all their pizzas and no extra charge for extra basil.

Since my first review, which was my first visit, I have been here many, MANY times. Dough takes my vote for best Neapolitan pizza in the Dallas area. They have beautifully made burrata appetizers, superb salads(roasted romaine– YUM), housemade lemoncello, and the pizza is perfection. As a bonus, they have $ 5 margherita pizzas on Mondays. SOVERYFABULOUS!

Pizza was cooked very well and was big enough to share. Salads were also fresh and yummy. Took a star off for service. Was not a long what to be seated. But before we ordered they tried to give us another tables order. The. Ask we were eating our salads again brought us another tables order. Some confusion. Price for what you get is a little high for the portions but over all was a good place.

Dough Pizzeria Napoletana is an Italian restaurant in Dallas that specializes in Neapolitan style pizza. The pizzas are baked in a high heat wood firing ovens that will cook your pizza in about a minute. It’s a casual setting but with good service. If you like this style of pizza Dough is a must visit. My Overall Rating — 3 Stars(Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere — Dough is located in a popular shopping strip, and the restaurant has a casual feel. Although I feel they do try to be a bit more upscale. I think if Dough were a standalone restaurant it could achieve, but in this area given the surroundings it doesn’t work. You’ll find assorted booths & tables, and in the kitchen is the wood fire oven where your pizzas are created. ½ Star. Service — Our service was excellent. Our server took time to explain the menu and what burrata means. He also was great interacting with the kids. On another note, while Dough feels like a casual restaurant, but service feels like what you’d get at an upscale restaurant. I think this is great, and I really enjoyed them taking the time to leave an impression with their outstanding service. 1 Star. Food — The pizza is Neapolitan style. This mean fresh, tossed dough is stretched thin, topped with fresh ingredients, and baked in a wood fire oven in about 60 seconds. If you like this type of pizza(and I do), you’ll love Dough. We had the B.A.T. pizza, which had bacon marmalade, arugula, and cherry tomatoes. It was outstanding and something I would find at Cavalli’s in Irving or Cane Rosso in Dallas. This was the highlight. The low lights were the«pepperoni» pizza for the kids. This was a cheese pizza with $ 3 topping added. We also ordered the Sample appetizer, which was a Rollatini, Richard’s Caprese, and Burrata & Prosciutto. Burrata was great, but it was overrun by truffle oil. In the end our meal wasn’t cheap either, but a worthy meal nonetheless with quality pizza. 1 Star. Will I Return? — Probably. Honestly I really enjoy the same type of pizza at other places(Cavalli/Cane Rosso). But the pizza is great, the service is great, but the prices are steep so it would be a hard sell just to come back. This may sound strange, but I honestly think that Dough would have a better feel if it were a standalone brick & mortar restaurant where they can provide an upscale setting to match the service, pricing, and show off those wood fire ovens. ½ Star. My Unilocal Rating Scale(Sum of all parts): 1 Star — Atmosphere — Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I’ll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star — Service — You can have a great meal with bad service. But that’s also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It’s important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars — Food — I’ll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it’s really all about the food. 1 Star — Will I come back? — If I know for a fact I’ll return, I’ll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food(2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Unilocal score.

I had such high hopes… sigh. So did our waiter, who was inexplicably UBER-formal. He acted like we were dining at The Mansion. Dude, it’s a pizza place. Chill. He also was sort of pushy about trying various menu items. Sometimes he would just walk up to the table and stand there waiting for us to order something. Awkward. We started with the truffle and mascarpone burrata, which sounds divine, right? Ummm… I didn’t get ANY hint of truffle, and basically it was a tasteless mozarella shell with some mascarpone in the middle. Mascarpone is yummy on its own, and that’s exactly what this tasted like. A few bites of mascarpone cheese for $ 17. WTF. Since this dish was featured on Food Network, now I know what a good actor Guy Fieri really is. Although our waiter certainly didn’t advertise it in his 3-minute opening shpeel about the majesty of this fine establishment, it happened to be $ 5 margherita pizza night(Monday night). So hey, we decided to get those $ 5 pizzas and spice ‘em up with a few of the a-la-carte toppings. Caramelized onions were da bomb, but I couldn’t even taste the oak-roasted mushrooms, and the olives were scant. Actually, everything was scant. There was supposed to be garlic and oregano on the basic margherita pizza, but I barely saw a few tiny shreds of oregano. My husband was disappointed to find that BOTH kinds of sausage he ordered as a-la-carte additions were not even the slightest bit spicy. This is fine by me, but it was a big let-down for him. Splitting two glasses of wine, the burrata appetizer, and two basic pizzas between four people ended up costing close to $ 40 per couple(so, $ 20 per person). Not horrifically pricey, I guess, but way more than that food was worth. It was a REALLY quiet evening in the restaurant, so I can’t imagine why the hostess seated a family with a bunch of little kids in the booth right next to us. One of them repeatedly kicked the shared booth throughout our meal… that was fun. Not to mention that our booth itself was crammed into such a small space that we literally had to shove the far booth back in order to fit four people in there. Let’s just say the ambiance was as lacking as the food.

I was pleasantly surprised during my visit to Dough… now I have another option for great pizza when I’m in that area of Dallas! Dough is located in a conglomeration of shops and strip malls right off of Preston. You have to weave your way in and out of a maze of parking spots and pedestrians to find it, but it’s well worth the effort. When we entered, the dining area was kind of empty(there were 3 or 4 tables occupied), but we were there well after lunch time so I wouldn’t be surprised if it got packed during the noon hour on a regular basis. The service was top notch. We were greeted and shown a booth. The menu recommendations were spot on, and our waiter was very friendly. Service is always a priority for me and they didn’t disappoint in this category. My fiancé ordered some burrata(cheese) that was served with sun dried tomatoes and bread. I didn’t partake, but she said that it was awesome. The presentation alone made ordering the dish worthwhile. Our pizzas came out next. I ordered the marinara topped with mushrooms and caramelized onions… perfect! The crust was great… it had that crunchy/chewy texture that you expect when you bite into a pie right out of a brick oven. The char was perfect. you could taste it, but it wasn’t overwhelming. My meal was perfect and very filling. I didn’t partake in dessert either, but Selena’s slice of polenta cake looked like art. You can tell that they really take pride in their dishes… by the taste as well as the presentation. I would definitely recommend Dough if you’re in the area and looking for some pizza. This is the best option in that part of town. Thumbs up!!!
