The only good thing about this place is the owners. For $ 14 I got 6 very doughy kolaches(I’m pretty sure they weren’t in the oven long enough and the flavor was just really lacking) and 6 donut holes with chocolate. I felt like I was overcharged for the less than mediocre food. There’s been a line both times that I’ve been so I guess enough people in Lakewood like the shop. Personally, no one compares to Southern Maid Donuts. Reasonable pricing and better quality. I pay $ 6 less at Southern Maid for the same order.

Unilocal reviews failed me on this one! I was in the area for an early appointment and was craving donuts. Reviews seemed very favorable and it was nearby. My first issue was the lack of selection. It was about 8:30…I thought early… but they had a huge display case with only a few trays of donuts… it looked like most of the offerings were sausage and bacon rolls. I selected an Old Fashioned and an Apple Fritter, The old fashioned seemed stale and was way too sweet… did not have that consistency I expected. The Apple Fritter was VERY sweet and had no detectable taste of Apple. Unfortunately this place missed the mark for me. They are a mom & pop type place and accepted my Credit Card for the small purchase so that earned a couple stars. I won’t return though.

Well needed a donut fix wow for a small mom and pop place these are some of the best I have had in Dallas. Chocolate donut holes, first I have seen. Now these are standard donuts, not the wild and crazy ones just good good donuts. Got a dozen glazed to take to work they were hot and fresh. Both times I went try this place

I walk pass this place everyday. Each time I walked pass, all I see are smiles. I have gone in a few times to pick up donuts for my coworkers(and myself of course.) They are so fresh and melt in your mouth delicious! The couple working each time I go in are very kind and welcoming. I want to go in every time!

I found this shop by luck! I never had noticed that there was a donut shop in this shopping center off of Abrams. That’s why I took the picture of the shop so that people could recognize it if they’re ever in the Lakewood neighborhood. :) Well, I came here to get some Pigs in a Blanket for my kids since they had been craving them for weeks. And to my surprise, they had several options like Pigs in Croissants, Pigs with Bacon in Croissants, and of course, your regular Pigs in a Blanket. I went ahead and got a few of all the versions… and tell you truth, they were a BIG hit at my home. :) My kids are now requesting that I add these different versions of Pigs in a Blanket to our Sunday’s breakfast menu option. Note: Pigs in Croissants is what I’m calling them. I’m pretty sure that the Donut Shop has a name for them. I just named that way since they were basically the same as a Big in a Blanket just with a different type of bread. I totally recommend this small shop, they have some good tasting donuts. :)

I am a donut snob. I eat an ungodly amount of donuts on a weekly basis and I like to try the small mom and pop shops; believe me my hips are protesting this ritual. Name a donut shop in any corner of the metroplex and I have probably eaten there. With that being said, I can’t help but feel disappointed by the glazed donuts here. It was very bready, like the texture of a kolache roll. I bet these donuts are subject to being dry if not eaten right away. The glaze was ever so thin and had completely crystallized and sort of flakes off when you eat them. The shop is located in the Lakewood neighborhood, a convenient stop if you happen to be driving anywhere on Abrams or Gaston. Alot of their business comes from the schools near by; so be prepared to wait in line with a lot of youngsters. I got a sample of their blueberry and regular glazed donut holes. Those were extremely tasty. I would probably order a bunch of donut holes instead of the regular donuts. The people who run this shop are very friendly and helpful. Overall, not sure if I would go out of my way to buy donuts here when there are other small places that are better and less expensive. Something to note, the prices are more expensive than the average donut shop.

I have been to this little place a few times now out of convenience, but will always patron them. They are very friendly and always give me a few donut holes for my dog when I walk with him to grab some breakfast on Sunday mornings. Great little kolaches and cake donut holes.

While there isn’t anything fancy about this little donut shop in Lakewood, I’ll definitely go back again. The owners seemed really nice and seemed to know pretty much everyone that came in. I had the jalapeño and cheese kolache and a chocolate twist. The twist was pretty good — I mean, how bad can one of these things be — but the kolache was amazing. Plus they take debit — which is great for us folks who never have cash!

This is the closest donut place to my house, therefore I go. Today I had the bacon, egg and cheese croissant. It was the best one I’ve had. I’m not sure what they did different from any other place that slaps these things together, but they do something. I tried to look at it closely… but i was driving, talking to my daughter, playing with the radio and trying to eat my sandwich all at the same time. Yes, I AM that person. We also had donut holes which is fundamentally incorrect because a hole is a lack of something. Either way, they chocolate frost and put sprinkles on their lack of something and it tastes amazing. Fresh hot glazed are good, but I’m still a big fan of Café Donuts for those. And the sausage rolls come in a variety of types and sizes – go for the giant jalapeño sausage roll or the cheese and sausage kolache. You know you want to.
