I temper my expectations when dining at a Dickeys, but usually find good service, decent sides, and generous servings of cafeteria-grade BBQ. This Dickey’s has long stood out as an exception. I’m pretty sure it’s a private franchise and that shows everywhere. While my sliced beef and sausage Westerner was being prepared, I scanned the side items and was seriously disappointed. The fresh items like the cucumber and Caesar salads were clearly at the end of a seriously stretched lifespan. Spooning through the beans, they too were at death’s door, held hot too long, split, pasty. I took a chance and went with the cole slaw and French fries. The slaw was bland, almost tasteless, lacking any sign of zest. On to the main course. The brisket was as tasteless as the slaw, no smoke, no nothing. A good dousing in sauce, made it interesting, but still a disappointment. The sausage on the other hand had plenty of flavor. In fact, I tasted it most of the day.

I live very close, and I’ve always enjoyed Dickey’s. But alas I think their time has come and gone. Unfortunately all of their meat tastes processed. I mean it’s the same stuff you’d get at a cafeteria… or Boston Market. For example, you are NOT getting fresh smoked turkey breast. You’re getting sliced processed turkey meat with no real smokey flavor. Just sauce. Don’t get me wrong. It’s OK. But even Rudy’s is significantly better. And places like Cattleack aren’t even in the same league. I just finished a meal and wondered how the people who own the place would feel knowing I did not feel satisfied with even one thing from my 3 meat platter with sides. Just another day at Dickey’s.

I ordered the BBQ sandwich, fries, and cobbler with a drink. The fries were better than chic-fil-a waffle fries. These were perfectly seasoned, hot and crispy just like I asked. The sandwich was mediocre. I was slathered in delicious BBQ sauce which made it better. I love that the drink cups are hard plastic instead of styrofoam or cheap, malleable plastic. Why 4 stars instead of 5? I was the first one in the restaurant when it opened at 11. The table I picked wasn’t clean. Other than that, every employee I encountered was kind and helpful. I would personally come here again. On a side note for those of you saying that this is the worst BBQ joint in Texas, why are you comparing this BBQ to that at a high end restaurant? It’s like comparing McDonald’s burgers to Burger Island or Twisted Root. Obviously there is going to be a large margin of difference. For a fast food restaurants this bad boy will satiate that BBQ itch.

I work close to here. I have eaten here 25 times for lunch and only order the baked potato. So the review is for the beef and potato. Dickeys in general have low reviews for a reason I guess. Probably for things I don’t order. I get a moist beef(aka fatty beef) baked potato along with a side of green beans. They are fantastic. Love the managers and the block cutter. They know my order. Never tried anything else here.

I have tried this location twice now and I am never coming back. The meat is so plain and disappointing at this location. The sides look look and taste like they are 6 hours old. This is essentially cafeteria tasting food. I am done settling for dickies for my Barbeque fix. The fact Dickies charges the same as these other amazing Barbeque places is a crime. I’ve never had a problem with the service by the employees, but the food is just not good. I once had an amazing Dickies experience, but it was in the middle of Oklahoma on a road trip. I guess the 20 something year olds there was just better at making the meat and keeping fresh sides.

The BBQ here is pretty good. The service is quick. I tried the bbq pork and some mac n cheese. Pork was tender and had lots of flavor. Mac n cheese was creamy and good. Wife had the brisket which she enjoyed.

Had a great experience at this location, I have been to other locations of this company, but the brisket they have here is the brisket I have ever had, and the guys work there are so friendly with great customer service.

I am not a big barbecue fan, but after trying this place I must say I have become a huge fan. Nice place, clean, and extremely friendly customer service. I am definitely going to recommend this place to my friends!!!

FOODPOISONING! My boyfriend and I have been ill with food poisoning for the past 24 hours. We believe it is this place. When we got here, we ordered brisket, Mac and cheese and fried okra. We also got rolls and BBQ sauce, soda and ice cream. The Mac and cheese was not smooth — there were bumps in the cheese. The rolls, brisket, BBQ sauce and Mac and cheese were lukewarm at best. The only thing that was served hot was the fried okra, which arrived after everything else. We were there near closing time and i don’t think I saw anyone clean out the ice cream machine. Needless to say, we will NOT be going back, and in fact, I won’t be having BBQ any time soon, which is a shame bc I loved BBQ.

Lots to do at the office today so was glad to see I could order/pay online and just run by to pick up my food. Wow — I am so disappointed. I missed the time I had noted for my pickup because of a work issue that had to be dealt with. I called dicky’s when I started heading out of the office and they told me they had thrown out my food and the might not be able to fill my order now. Considering they had my email and phone number with them — they should have called me before they did that. I was told my order wasn’t large enough to warrant them calling me. That’s horrible service! I asked if they had canceled my order and refunded my money or if they would still order it. After lecturing me that they only had one baked potato left so maybe not — I just cut them off and asked ‘can you or can’t you?’ They told me yes and I said great I’ll be right there. When I arrived at the pick up counter I was told to go through the line and had to reiterate my order. Made it to the cash register and was starting to get another lecture. Unbelievable! Never going here again — there are MUCH better managed locations!!!

We ordered off Grubhub so I think they adjusted portions for sure. Meat was really dry. Green beans lacked seasoning. Food isn’t good and service was so-so. Save your money and order /go elsewhere!!!

Love Texas BBQ. I’ve been to some of the best restaurants and I smoke my own. I don’t know how they cooked this brisket. It almost looked like they steamed the meat. It was flavorless, tough, no smoke ring, kind of dry. This was by far the worst BBQ that I’ve ever had. It was obvious that whoever cooked the meat looked at it like a job instead of taking any pride in what they were doing.

Sorry Dickies, I don’t like to be negative in reviews. But I’m really not sure how this chain still exists. They must rely on catering. Food is served cafeteria style and looks tired and old… which most buffets do unless the place is packed. I got chicken breast, 2 sides and an iced tea. $ 13.55. Seriously? Employees seemed nice and it was pretty clean. Otherwise 1 star.

Ho Lee Fok that was some pathetic meat. Howdafuk are they still open ??? for like 12 $ you get 2 meat plate with 2 sides and a pathetic piece of bread«roll» 4 pathetic ribs— with no flavor in the diminutive amount of meat, yes they were sweet, and tasted like warm pork, not bbq pork, but like that one time i tried to make bbq ribs in 30 minutes. a pathetic pile of meat called«brisket”— ok ok it wasnt trash like the ribs but barely made it — the only +1 of this experience. LOL even Whole Foods a couple streets over has meat that tastes like BBQ and for 9 $ or so a pound its a god-damn super-win compared to this pathetic hole.

Brisket, pulled pork, and pork ribs(definitely not fall off the bone) were dry. The jalapeño sausages were the only decent meat they offered. The sides were much better compared to the meats though they lacked some flavor. The peach cobbler is the best part about Dickie’s. I do wish the food was better because the gentleman who took care of my to go order was extremely kind by packing me extra condiments.

Will I ever remember my Yellow cup? Likely not. Is the BBQ the best ever, not so much at any location. Is it reliable, yes. I like the specials, sides, and the option of having a spicy BBQ sauce along with regular. It’s not the greatest ever, but it sure hits the spot when I’m needing a Brisket plate or sandwich fix.
