Most if not all of the sides come out of a bag here. I had the Jalapeño beans and the Mac and Cheese. Both where just ok. On Sundays, you can have a one meat and two side combo for under $ 10, which may or may not be a great depending on your taste. I liked it! I didn’t love it, but for under $ 10, this will do in a crunch. Best part– located in a gas station which shows up as a «gas» purchase on your credit card. Perfect for those with the 3% cash back on all gas purchases.

The food was awful and over priced. An adult was given enough for a 6 year old. First and last time eating there. I only gave it one star because I had to select at least one star.

Horrible Service! The guy working behind the counter was soooo rude! Food was good but the service could have been better.

After 15 mins behind two customers…, Completely out of two different menu item. No warning. Thanks for the warning. At least I was probably spared of salmonella laced gas station barbecue…

Was just getting gas and went to the restroom. Someone was at the urinal so I went to the stall. Dude finished up and left the bathroom without washing his hands. I practically followed him out and stopped dead in my tracks as I noticed him go behind the food counter and begin stacking food cups for sauce with those some nasty hands. The guy is an employee! I stood there horrified for about a minute as he began fixing people’s food. Disgusting.

Worst Dickey’s I’ve ever been to. Its in a convenient store, the food was bad and looked like it had been out for days.

Ok… first I didn’t realize this is literally in the back of the gas station… The ribs were ok… just OK… I also tried the ham and the brisket. Both were extremely dry… the BBQ sauce Couldn’t even help it. The green beans had no taste but adding a ton of salt did help… I may have a strike now but at least I was able to finish a vegetable. The Mac and cheese… just plain nasty… Best thing about this experience… the guy serving it was extremely nice…

Horrible!!! ordered 3 meals from this Dickeys on Grub Hub at 7pm — exactly at 7pm — at 7:44pm this Dickeys notified GrubHub that they were out of ALL meat but chicken. Grub Hub calls me to tell me this and I asked why I was notified 44 minutes after I placed the order — she said«because Dickeys didn’t tell us until just now and this is AFTER we called the restaurant at 7:05pm to confirm your order». I ordered from the original dickies on 75 and Knox — and was told the Dickeys on McKinney ave is a franchise — well — clearly franchises will never be better than the original — my suggestion — THEDICKEYSONMCKINNEYSUCKSASS! Ordered delivery and when the food got to me, it was not what I ordered. They should really take a little extra time paying attention to what their customers order. They expressed they sent me the best quality meat they had, and didn’t have anything better. After 15+ years eating Dickey’s I know better… They wouldn’t work with the delivery service to correct the error, and just left us hungry. What a colossal waste of time and money. Pick a different Dickey’s this one is hurting the brand.

I love the barbecue at this place! I get the same thing every time, so I can only comment on that. The chopped beef sandwich and regular sauce is DELISH! The sides could use some improvement, but I find this true at almost all barbecue places. Service is friendly if you get the right person. Sometimes you get grouchy college kid, but that’s okay. I’m there to eat, not make pals.

First of all I give them one star because I ordered almost $ 70 of BBQ from them this evening for delivery through Eat 24 and it never arrived. I placed my family dinner order at 8:50PM and waited and waited. At 11:40PM(almost three hours later) I called Eat 24 and cancelled. They said Dickey’s BBQ never sent the order out for deliver although they provided an online estimate of 90 min. Dickey’s closed at 10PM without caring they had a $ 70 order outstanding. I blame Dickey’s completely for not calling me or Eat 24 to let us know that delivery was not going to happen and I should be refunded. Regardless of the flavor or quality of Dickey’s BBQ… If they don’t follow through on customer service issues and delivery, literally leaving hungry customers hanging — they will lose(and anger) customers for life. I will not order from them again and I highly discourage others from ordering Dickey’s through Eat 24 or directly through third party delivery. After this experience I doubt I will ever step foot in there again.

I’ve been to this location once for breakfast. It’s one block from where I work so it is extremely convenient. After scanning the breakfast menu consisting of a handful of various«southern-style» breakfast items, I decide on a breakfast sandwich. The menu states it is egg, bacon and cheese on toasted, buttered bread. I paid and ended up coming back to work to eat my sandwich where I noticed my sandwich did not have cheese on it. It also was not on buttered toast. Just two pieces of white bread. Cold. Not warm. So I journey back to have the problem corrected and receive attitude in the form of retaliation. Apparently, it was my fault the toast wasn’t buttered and the employee told me that I asked for«no cheese». Ay Carumba! I’m not arguing over an egg sandwich. One star.

Every so often, Dickey’s invents new menu items to try and drum up business, much the same way that McDonald’s does. Nevertheless, their new Buttery Cornbread BBQ Sandwiches sounded interesting, so I thought I’d give Dickey’s another shot. I didn’t really have enough information to choose, so I did the only logical thing and ordered both the Texas Pete Spicy Chicken and the Sweet Pulled Pork. I didn’t necessarily want the advertised slice of cheddar cheese, but I did want to sample these sandwiches as they were intended, so I left it on. I started with the pulled pork so as not to ruin my palate. There was no smokey flavor and the meat was altogether pretty bland. It was decently tender at least. The combination of sugar-laden cornbread and sweet barbecue sauce was tasty enough, but seemed a tad redundant. I didn’t mind the cheddar, but it sort of just faded into the background. It certainly wasn’t the sandwich I was hoping for. Next up was the spicy chicken sandwich. The seasoning tasted more like the type you’d find on rotisserie chicken. The big chunks of sliced white meat chicken were rather dry. Perhaps pulled dark meat would have been a better choice. There was certainly some spiciness to the sauce, but it was still fairly tame by Texas standards. Dickey’s to-go bags have the words«hickory smoked» written all over them. I’ve tried four different menu items from two different locations, and I have yet to find even a hint of smoke.

Dickey’s BBQ, located inside the Shell Gas Station. There is a small seating area inside the store and ordering area. Great overall menu with sandwiches, meat plates, sides and sauces. I had a 2 meat plate with 2 sides, and dinner roll for $ 11. I had regular bbq sauce, just the right amount if spice and flavors. Meat was pulled pork and brisket both great in flavor and cooked well. Overall a great place for BBQ and a check-in discount!

Nondescript in a gas station and built within a convenience store, this Dickey’s is no-fuss barbecue for anyone craving a quick fix. Although the store sells beer and wine, they won’t let you consume alcohol on the premises, so it’s too bad you can’t chug down that ice cold beer with your spicy ribs. A dinner entrée runs under $ 10 with a choice of meat, two sides, and bread. The spicy sauce is actually fairly spicy. All in all a hearty and inexpensive fast food meal. The place is open late on Thursdays and Saturdays, I believe. On Sundays it closes at 8. If the manager isn’t there, the staff does not know about nor will it accept the Unilocal check-in ice cream offer. I wasn’t able to redeem mine since she wasn’t there and I had to leave town the next day. So try your luck!

Inside a gas station in high heeled uptown, you can get your BBQ buster on in a hurry pre or post cocktailing on McKinney. I was suprised to see a sign that said $ 2 brisket sandwiches from 2pm-4pm every day. Mama loaded up, 2 minimum, ate one there and got the other one to go.(I was on a bike) Dickies ain’t on the South Beach diet, but if you don’t overload it you might feel happier with a daily recommended dosage of fat and protein. It’ll make you think clear.

Came back to try the Westerner sandwich… I was craving meat and of course, Dickey’s bbq is the perfect place to indulge in meat deliciousness. The brisket was smokey and tender and shred very easily. It comes with sausage, but I asked for hot link sausage bc I wanted to try it… spicy, but not too spicy… not too bad, but I think I like the brisket better. Always get my bbq on the side along with some pickles and banana peppers… and I grab a packet or 2 of extra hot sauce in case it’s not spicy enough! Since I haven’t been back in a year, didn’t realize the prices went up! An extra $ 1 for the sandwiches and an extra $ 2 for the plates… either they are doing super duper well and can get away with raising its prices. or it’s because of our darn economy… I’d say the latter.
