Dental Center of Lakewood

Apparently my dental insurance declined to pay for my last visit there. I had no idea and before I had a chance to investigate why, Dental Center of Lakewood sent the claim to collections.
The one rude call I got from their office about it came about a year and a half after the visit and was the first I’d heard anything was amiss. When I told them I know my insurance at the time should have covered the visit, the office girl just said «Ok, well we’ll be sending this to collections» and hung up.
Now I’m getting nagging collections calls from random area codes, only they don’t actually say anything, just silence on the other end. I know they’re from the collections agency from searching the phone numbers online. So Dental Center of Lakewood is in business with a trolling collections agency who just call to harass you and not actually address the claim. Way to treat your customers, Dr. Spillman and co.
If you value your credit and don’t appreciate phone harassment, I would definitely choose another dental practice.

Dr. Spillman is an excellent dentist. I have seen him several times, he gets me in and quickly and his work is superb. He does not try to sell me procedures I do not need and always makes recommendations that are appropriate to maintain my dental health. He is an upstanding healthcare provider.

I love Dr. Spillman and his practice! The staff is extremely friendly and considerate and the office is nice, clean and modern! I had to go in for a procedure and Dr. Spillman spoke to me with a calm voice during the whole thing, which helped me relax during what would usually be an anxiety-​filled experience.
I HIGHLY recommend this place!

I have a phobia of teeth. Well I’m not sure if that’s the right word but teeth freak me out. I can’t even handle my 7 and 8 year old daughters wiggling their loose teeth excitedly in anticipation of money under their pillows. My stomach drops and I get grossed out. That being said, I give the Dental Center of Lakewood 5 freakin stars and the unheard of title of best root canal ever.
My previous root canals were mortifying experiences. I felt almost everything my previous dentist did. Cut to my root canal from yesterday… Dr. Spillman pretty much told me that the needle pinch of the numbing agent would be the only pain I would feel and he was absolutely right. Dr. Spillman and assistant Betty made sure I was comfortable, asked me if I was doing ok and made me feel great during what was previously a terrifying experience. The only hiccup was they lost suction at the tail end of my procedure. This prevented them from putting a crown on and they were incredibly apologetic. That was ok with me though. I can go back and get the rest of it finished up. I know that my visit will be as great as my first one.
Everyone that works here is so down to earth and friendly. I live in Plano now and I will gladly drive down to Lakewood to continue treatment here.
