You can’t order take out at this place and still enjoy your food. This place is amazing I’m sure but their food is strictly to be ate with wine but I’m only 22 what the hell do I know about wine :(sorry but I’m not buying 4 glasses of wine in order to eat my delightful food comfortably. Lovely place :) need to know about wine in order to enjoy perfection, this is what I call almost but never quite perfect ;P

LEGITPASTA. Probably the best I’ve had in Dallas, although I am no connoisseur. I had the lasagna bolognese and the pasta melted in my mouth. The best part was the crusty cheese on top. My guy had the tortellini with vodka sauce and it was great too. The tiramisu, incredible. The only reason I’m rating 4 stars is because the service was awkward. We walked in, told the hostess we had a table for two, and was told there was a 35 minute wait. About 5 minutes later, TWO different couples walked in and immediately got a table. I was told by the hostess that there are no reservations unless there is a party of 6 or more, so I was confused. I’ll come back again, cause the dishes were so dang good, but maybe next time I should wear cashmere and Burberry shoes to get seated faster.

We have eaten at Carbone’s several times in the last three months and had good meals and a pleasant experience each time. The food is really good and we have not had a less than good meal yet. The service while good is not great. It seems like it takes a while to get going and to wrap-up. The wine selection is strong. Overall, I would recommend it if you are looking for good Italian food in the Oak Law/UpTown area, but don’t go expecting a one-hour experience.

Awesome place! A must try. Great atmosphere, great wine, great service, and awesome food! Everything we had was delicious, especially the sausage and cheese ravioli, calamari, fettucini with sunday sauce, home made linguini shrimp scampi, cannoli, and the best dessert I’ve ever had, expresso panna cotta. Highly recommended!

I absolutely love Carbone’s! A few of my closest friends and I decided to ran into this place because we were hungry. Everyone is so nice and the lasagna is ridiculous so yummy and huge and the price is awesome. There are tons of options for any dishes as well as pasta and salads. Definitely try it out.

Having read a number of recommendations in numerous Dallas magazines at the Warwick Melrose Hotel, we decided to try Carbone’s on a Friday evening. We arrived to an empty dining establishment which filled to capacity within ½ hour. There was a mixed crowd of young to senior citizens and dressed well. The wait staff was friendly and knew the menu to match the wine offerings which is always a indication of how good the restaurant really is. We ordered the Sea Food of the Day, Snapper, that was prepared on a bed of lentils — it was very good. The calamari was prepared to perfection with red peppers sprinkled on it. The Caesar Salad dressing had only a slight anchovy taste which was refreshing. Our only complaint was the staff was so busy that we decided to forgo dessert because of the long wait

By far this is one of the most authentic and delicious Italian restaurants in Dallas. I have been about a dozen times for dinner and have made Carbone’s lovers out of every friend I have taken there. The atmosphere is very inviting It has a light, bright and somewhat airy feel. Very simple and clean — nothing to take away from the amazing meal you are about to experience. The service has always been very good. Attentive, but not overbearing in the least. No reservations, so we usually come a little earlier although I think the longest wait I have had on a Saturday night was 45 minutes — definitely not too bad by Dallas standards. I’ve tried multiple items and my favorites are: — Eggplant Parmigiana — definitely something I have ordered many times. Very thin sliced eggplant which melts in your mouth! — Sunday Gravy Pasta — Italian Sausage Ravioli with Vodka Sauce — Spaghetti and Meatballs — this was my least favorite. Was lacking a little in sauce at least for my taste. My Dad ordered and loved it. — Bruschetta — Little Gem Caesar Salad Will definitely be back. Top 4 Italian restaurants in Dallas in my opinion(with the other favorites being Taverna, Nonna, and Lucia)

This was some seriously amazing Italian food. Three colleagues amd I dined here tonight, two of them were first generation Italians. They had the pasta with Sunday gravym another colleague had shrimp scampi, I had the Lasagna Ragu. Omg amazing! Everyone cleaned their plate. We also had the antipasto salad and garlic bread with homemade ricotta cheese. I could have just eaten a bowl of that cheese and been happy. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend if you come to Dallas.

Atmosphere — 5 Service — 5 Food — 5 Value — 5 Carbones has to be one of the best Italian restaurant that I have found so far in Texas(including Dallas, Houston, Austin)… Yes, that’s a bold statement, but it’s true. I’ve had great Italian in New York and Boston and Carbones holds its own again these regions. EVERYTHING is made from scratch including the pasta. I got the Sunday meal(4 course)… Fried Qual salad, Lobster Pasta, Veal, and Peach Tiramisu… All of it was great. The veal was cooked perfectly and the white wine sauce was awesome. I’m looking forward to going back again!

It’s been a while since my last review, and Carbones is as wonderful as ever! We still go all the time for lunch and dinner. My favorite for lunch is the Italian Combo Sub– the meat is made in-house, you will never find a better sandwich! Their homemade chocolate cake is to die for! For dinner you cannot go wrong with any pasta. The executive chef Jonathan is a wizard with pasta, I’ve eaten every single pasta dish on the menu. The pastas change with the season– LOVE all the pasta. The quality at Carbones has not waivered since it opened.

This is the best Italian food in Dallas. Period. This is not the typical large portion and poorly constructed Italian food. All pasta is made fresh and the portions are perfect. Additionally, they develop tremendous flavored that come through with every bite which are subtle but still powerful. We have yet to find a dish we don’t love and even the bread you can get with the meal is five star. Make sure you leave room for their terrific made from scratch deserts. Oh, the service which has a low server to patron ratio meets the same quality of the food.

Wow! I had a friend in town and she wanted lasagna. I’ve been to a few places but decided we’d both try somewhere new. I couldn’t have picked a better place!!! Loooooved it! Service was excellent! Food was even better!!! My tomato, cheese, and spinach lasagna was superb. Melt in your mouth delicious! Probably one of the best lasagna I’ve had in a looooong time. My friend ordered the shrimp scampi and loved it and my niece had spaghetti and meatballs. She loved the meatballs particularly. A must go. Casual and nice! Loved it!

I happened in one Sunday and I am totally thrilled that I did. I was lucky enough to enjoy brunch and not have to deal with a crowd. The waitstaff was knowledgeable of the menu and very helpful. I enjoyed a seat next to the window, a great view of the dining space and occasional conversation with the staff. The bistro/deli/café intermix is refreshing. This casual setting and open floor plan lend to the full experience. I had the french toast w/zabaglione along with the ciccoli hash w/fried eggs over easy. The mix of savory and sweet were awesome. The french toast was such a treat with the fresh fruit cup and the soft yogurt crème. The hash allowed you to taste all of the flavors without overpowering my senses. It’s my favorite. I look forward to bringing friends and family!

My husband and I ate here for the first time finally and were so impressed! Agree with the causal atmosphere, but it’s a great romantic date night spot as well. Appetizer: Fried ravioli. Breading was flaky and light, Italian sausage inside was right amount of spicy. Entrees: I had the shrimp with linguine noodles. It tasted like the pasta was just made in the back! AMAZING. My husband had the sausage tortellini and ate every last bite. We will defiantly be back!

I actually rate this 4 and a half stars. I understand the prior reviews about the price point for such a bistro/deli but in my opinion the food was so well cooked and prepared that I was content paying a little more. We also went at lunch so the price tag wasn’t shocking Now this place is very casual. Kind of a deli crossed with a bistro so don’t expect a dark romantic Italien restaurant. This is bright and open and airy. Also whilst the location is the edge of oak lawn it is also the edge of university park so the crowd during our visits was less diverse and trendy and more well heeled and conservative. Especially if you brunch on a Sunday right as the church there is letting out. The pasta dishes are very good. The little mowhawk macaroni with the“Sunday gravy” was amazing. I noticed afterwards that the deli section actually sells that Sunday gravy to go. I need this! It is basically a mixed bag red meat sauce with pork, Italien sausage and veal.

Carbone’s is a full service casual dining Italian restaurant. Patrons have the option to dine-in or carry out. The restaurant is located in a strip shopping center with plenty of parking in the front and rear. During my visit I ordered a half meatball sandwich and tomato basil soup. The cost for the lunch portion is $ 11 + tax. The portion size was good for me. The flavors of the meatball sandwich with mozzarella cheese were the perfect companion to the soup. Service was prompt and courteous. It is a good environment for families, business meetings or grabbing a bite to eat alone.
