Brad Bykkonen

I was feeling cheap and lazy and happened to stumble upon Brad’s page. I saw the 30% cut and color coupon that Brad advertises on The Unilocal.I also noticed that you could book online. I did just that. The day I wanted wasn’t available, but I was able to choose another time. That was pretty cool.
Brad works inside (he’s independent) Evolution Salon, which reminded me of a cute old house. I was too distracted to see if it really used to be a house?
I always get nervous talking about my hair to a new person. I have dry damaged hair and I have attempted to color my own hair on a few occasions. Brad schooled me on how to properly touch up my roots if I attempt to do it again. Apparently the way I’ve been doing it has led to some damaged hair. I thought my hair seemed a little drier than usual. So who knew? Brad didn’t make me feel like an idiot, though, and I appreciated that. He worked with the existing color and highlighted my hair in a way to cover the damage and to not have my hair looking stupid when it grows out. For the cut I told him to clean it up. He did just that. Its not the best hair cut I’ve had (it looked great when I left, it’s just been hard to get it to look smooth and straight since), but a) I did tell him to just trim it, and b) with the damaged mess of hair I have it’ll probably take a couple of cuts to look better. So really not his fault.
Overall I liked the vibe of the salon and I’m pleased with my hair.

First time seeing Brad. Got a partial weave and cut. Before we got to work he sat down with me as we looked at magazines to find the exact color of highlights I wanted, the type of swoop bang, the length, etc. so that he and I were on the same page. His efforts on my hair were very deliberate and well thought out and detailed. What he did for my hair and what I asked for were exactly the same, for which I am very relieved. I just wish it cost a little bit less: $ 95 for partial weave. $ 55 for a cut, includes a blow dry but no styling. I will go to him again for sure and if you have long hair like me and want some highlights then I know he’ll do a fantastic job. I’ll be willing to test him out again when I go drastically short which will be the true test!
