At the risk of rambling on and on about my poor experience here all I will say is: if you order a cake from here make sure you explain very clearly how many people the cake will serve and agree to the price prior to pick up. They already charge an arm and a leg on the pricing of custom fondant cakes and their inablilty to communicate with the consumer makes it very frustrating. The teas are great but my cake ordering experience was a complete catastrophe. So beware!

Very beautiful inside with nice cute rooms. It is a hidden gem. We had the jasmine boba milk tea and it was very good. The best I can found near Dallas. The environment is very relaxing to hang out or study. I also had a scoop of the chocolate icecream which was very rich and tasty a great place for dessert after eating at koryo Korean barbecue. This nice boba tea place is located in a nice shopping complex off Royal lane, very convenient location near highway.

One of the best bubble tea places in Dallas. It’s super cute and has a small bakery too. Everyone who works there is very nice and helpful.

I have been going here since I was a kid to get pasteries but now I have been frequenting it more often this year. Their interior is really different from a lot of Korean cafes in that they have booths with little doors so you can chat/study without distractions. Oh, and they usually have some cute Disney movie playing on their TVs so you can be entertained while you wait to be checked out! This place has the best bread/pasteries in the area by far, and their sweet potato cake is delicious! If you’re looking to get a cake(Korean cake in general), it’s a bit on the pricy side… but they usually have flavors that you can’t get elsewhere so it’s totally worth it. I recommend asking for their ‘point card’ if you don’t have one already! You get a stamp everytime you spend $ 10 and once you hit a point you can get a free roll cake or a cake!

This place should be called«a bakery that sometimes serves bubble tea.» I am not sure why they are called«Boba House» when they open early in the morning but don’t have bubbles until afternoon. Strolled in on a Saturday at 12PM and was told by staff that they don’t serve bubbles for the drinks until about 1PM everyday. Strolled right back out. :(

Secluded booth seating. Super authentic. Cool place. I ordered the red bean + fruit + green tea ice cream over shaved ice. Thought there was too much ice at first, but it ended up being an almost perfect ratio. Single size was pretty large, but I handled all of it. I’ll come back. Great atmosphere for chatting with friends– doesn’t allow all the eavesdropping that happens at Starbucks and other open air coffee shops. Happy about it.

If you’re looking for some really good BOBA, you have to stop in here ! I normally go to Fat Straws for my bubble tea fix, but this place is definitely more authentic! I’m normally in this area for vintage shopping, so this was a perfect time to try something new. I knew what i wanted when I came. The Taro bubble tea. Well, it’s more like a smoothie, but i ended up leaving with a green tea concoction that was to die for! The tapioca pearls were so warm and tasty! At times, these can be pretty tasteless at other places I’ve been. The drink itself was amazing! They also have various pastries like cakes and cookies. I bought a strawberry cake that was really delicious . The service was great and very swift. The cutest thing to me was the booths they have inside if you want to drink your boba tea or eat your pastries with friends. They have little swinging doors for privacy. I thought this was adorable, haha! Definitely, visit this place for a little something different.

Recently discovering a koreatown in the Dallas area, I definitely had to find a boba spot to quench my thirst for the bobas while in Dallas. This happened to be closer to the place I was having dinner at and decided to drop on by. Place is in a strip mall with a wide variety of other korean establishments. It would definitely be missed if not specifically looked for. Inside is a small pastry/bread section next to the counter with a cute, playful sign for some typically korean pastries and available drinks. Getting there later at night, it didn’t seem like there were very much options, but what I was able to get were the mini walnut pastries and an almond sweet bread. Both options were pretty good(and were a success at the office! :D). For a drink I ordered a hot almond milk tea with boba and requested less sugar. Interestingly enough, the person behind the counter didn’t know it was possible to make a hot milk tea, but thank goodness for the staff behind the curtain as she was rested assured it was and it was definitely needed for the semi cold weather at the time. The boba itself was a bit hard, but the drink was good albeit a bit sweeter than I would like. Not the best stuff, but solid. Overall a decent place and would come again to try more options.

Had you asked me to imagine my «happy place» a few years ago before I first walked through these doors, I think I may have imagined TKD exactly like it is. Hot drinks. Cold Drinks. Pastries. Private booths. Comfy couches out in the open. Animated family movies playing on a TV in the main area. Friendly staff. The décor and food options are all very«cutesy». I really can’t walk out of here in a better mood than when I walked in.

I got the double shaved ice to share with my hubs which first of all isn’t that big at all. It comes with plenty of fruit and we got the red bean on the side. The fruit was not fresh and the ice was not shaved fine at all. Very chunky pieces of ice — not impressed.

I’ve been frequenting this gem in Koreatown at least once a week since I’ve found it! It is very neat and clean, with a small selection of traditional Korean breads in addition to the drinks and dessert treats they offer. There is seating inside to enjoy your drink, with little separate private booths, which is kinda quirky. The staff is also very friendly and are happy to make suggestions. I’ve had the green tea milk tea which I found to be a good level of sweet but not overwhelming. I’ve also had honeydew, but it was too sweet for my taste, and in a rare event, I didn’t even finish it cause it was just too much. One tip is to bring cash if you’re visiting alone because sometimes one drink alone won’t hit their $ 5 cc minimum! Also, be careful about visiting too early after they open. I visited before noon once and the tapioca balls were not ready yet, so left a bit disappointed.

This is my second time here. So glad I decided to come back! This completely made up for my first visit. On my first visit, they had run out of boba and it wasn’t even dinner time! I was so disappointed. However, I did get a snack that visit, a red bean pastry, which was delicious! This trip I was finally able to get bubble tea! The boba are fresh, and the Thai Tea is strong and sweet. I was a little worried because they use sweetened condensed milk and had no dairy alternatives, but I have to say it’s way more heavy on the tea than the dairy and tastes fantastic! Plus the really nice girl behind the counter made a suggestion of sweet potato mochi, and I am a fan! I got the Sweet Potato Mochi and the regular/traditional Mochi which has sweet red bean in the middle. I will be back!!! :-D

SO happy to find a boba tea place super closer to work! Literally somewhere I never would’ve seen, so thanks fellow Unilocalers! The location is in a strip mall with very narrow parking spaces. Several random shops in an industrial neighborhood, but a bright pink and green sign. Several flavor options on the wall and a menu that honestly, I didn’t peruse; I knew what I came for. I will echo other reviews to say the inside is interesting to say the least. You walk into a little bakery shop, with packaged goods and breads for sale. It looked a lot like Maxim’s that you see all around Hong Kong, but priced a little higher and I wasn’t very tempted, but maybe another time. There was not a lot of central seating, a small two seater table and sofa, but most of the seating were in little corrals with swinging doors that can be used for groups or families. I am not even sure what it could have been before; maybe a little nail spa with individual seating areas? There were a couple students in two of the stalls studying, so that probably would be a great use of the space. If you’re looking to hang out with a large group, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of options for ya. We got the almond milk tea and thai tea with boba to try and for both drinks in their smaller size(Regular), it came to just over $ 7, so not terrible, but still a little high in my opinion since you’re not paying for the atmosphere. But they both tasted really good and no powder-y residue. The boba pearls were slightly sweet and chewy. It is seriously a pet peeve when they are over– or under-cooked and totally ruined. But they got that right and that makes me happy! There were lots of cakes on display that you could buy or order and Breyer’s ice cream by the scoop, so there are some«dessert» options as well for pickier kids. All in all, I am happy to have found this place and will stop by in the future to pick up drinks on the go!

QUICKPOINTERS * Quick and helpful service [1] * Comfortable atmosphere with an interesting taste to it [2] * Nice variety of offerings and selections [3] * Restroom could do for a little fix up [4] FOOD(experience) * Red bean + Fresh fruits + Green tea ice cream Shaved Ice [5] * Avocado Smoothie Special Drink [6] OVERALL 1-star for service, 1-star for awesome environment and atmosphere, and 2-stars for food in general. Very much like your typical Korean shaved ice place and very much like your typical Korean pastry/bakery place. Only thing that bumps this up from an average rating is that you have everything conveniently in one place for all your cravings and satisfactions! — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - — - [1] Took no longer than five minutes to receive our orders; the staff was very open and friendly to giving us suggestions and tips in a friendly and consulting manner rather than trying to tempt us to buy the most expensive options. [2] Great for groups and private studies because of their booth setups; interior was a blend of European and Southern(cowboy-like) style décor. [3] Selections include: mocha, latte options, frappes, fresh fruit drinks, milk tea options, slush/ice tea options, smoothie options(special menu), pastry goodies, shaved ice, and cakes! [4] Could do for a little clean up and I think the door is in dire need of a little maintenance since the last time I was there; not the cleanest restroom but it does the job when you gotta go. [5] Grab a Double size if you’re a party of 3 – 4; nice balance of everything; the green tea ice cream is on point; pineapple slices tasted like canned pineapples; overall, I would recommend if you’re craving shaved ice. [6] Nice and densely blended! Just the way I look my avocado smoothies!

A very… interesting boba place I have to say. My first impression and my immediate impression when entering the doors to Tae Kook Dang was completely different. The storefront looks like a brightly colored/decorated place, but when you go in the place was completely different from what’d you expect just looking at the sign. It has a nice western theme to it and ALL your tables are in booths, which you have the option of closing the«doors» if you chose to. They had multiple seating options(just hope that the one you want would be available). They have conference tables/seats in one room, a cute sofa-ish room, some with normal tables and etc. You could say it looks like they couldn’t afford to buy all the same tables/chairs, but I thought the way they laid it out was perfect the way it was. In the middle of the store you’ll find your arrangements of pre-baked goods which you can choose to take out or eat inside one of the booths/rooms. They even have a sofa outside for people waiting on their drinks and etc. So let’s now get onto the review of the actual food items we got that day! So we got shaved ice, they come in 3 different sizes, family, double and single. I will warn that the family really can feed a family so unless you’re a huge party of 6+ I’m thinking you can probably stick to a double… unless you’re REALLY hungry for only shaved ice. The shaved ice was nice, we had the one with fruits, red bean, mochi and green tea ice cream and it was very refreshing to eat. Tastes the same as Café Bene, except you get more flavor options at Café Bene. Either way it was a good cheap treat to eat. We got our boba’s to go but omg, the green tea one is to die for! I absolutely loved it! The drinks were definitely well flavored and definitely not watered down! If you’re craving some bubble tea I’m definitely recommending this place to you! The prices are also reasonable. If you’re looking for a nice place to chill that’s not overcrowded and enjoy Asian treats and bubble tea, then this is a really nice place to go to! I’m up from the North East and would love to be able to become a regular here!

Cute boba/bakery on Royal lane. I had the jasmine milk tea with boba and it was extremely sweet to the fact that I had to water it down by adding about half a bottle of water. They had some really delicious looking cakes in the display window and they serve pa bing soo, will be back to try it!

One of my biggest complaints about living in Dallas proper is the lack of boba shops. It’s been a real struggle. Fellow Unilocaler Tracy R. and I accidentally discovered the place after eating at a nearby restaurant, and boy are we glad we did! It’s a pretty spacious café with a bunch of little booths to sit at. I like the cute ambience. It’s also really unique because all the booths are their own cubicles, so you get plenty of privacy. The drinks are generally good, but sometimes inconsistent. The first time I came, the boba was just freshly cooked, chewy, and perfectly sweet. Unfortunately, the boba was a lot mushier the second time I came. The milk tea itself has good flavor and is not too sweet. This place also has an assortment of Asian-style baked goods. I’m not sure if they’re made in-house or made at another local bakery, but all of the ones I’ve tried have been really tasty. My favorites are the mocha roll cake(very soft) and the red bean mochi bread(yes, that’s red bean paste wrapped inside mochi, which is in turn wrapped inside bread. WHAT). I always look forward to trying a new baked good each time I come, and I’ve always come out happy! Great place to hang out, super friendly staff, and the perfect place to get a quick boba fix if you don’t feel like driving up to Richardson/Plano/Carrollton!
