Delicious, energizing, nutritious food! I was so excited to discover this place a few months ago, and went during work on my lunch break to try it out. Had a delicious salad and got it to go, since I had a full day and the ambiance here wasn’t begging me to stay. Small place, with only 4 other diners when I was in, nothing to write home about. The service was very friendly, but I also encountered the previously Unilocaled issue of not being able to pay with my card, since their machines were down. Reading other Unilocal reviews, it seems this is an ongoing issue, so that’s a bit odd. She told me not to worry about it since I didn’t have cash, so that was very generous, but I wonder why they haven’t addressed the issue if it’s occurred over a period of several months. Anyway, the food is divine if this is what you’re looking for, as well as being one of the only raw restos in Dallas(++ for uniqueness).

What a great, if not difficult to execute, concept that Bliss is. Actually got take-out(picture posted); a delightful and surprisingly tasty offering of a coconut kale enchilada and Greek pizza. The dishes, even in a to go container, are visually entrancing… amazing what fresh food looks like in constrast to our typical Earth-toned dishes. Although not a typical fan of kale, the gluten free tortilla mixed nicely; the Greek pizza was my favorites, accented with fantastically ripe avocados. This was a new one for me; although not likely a regular spot for me, I would not hesitate in a moment to visit again.

Whether you’re a raw foodist or not, Bliss will have have your taste buds dancing. I’ve been to this location a few times now and I can say that the quality of the food is very consistent. Just raw(not heated over 115ºF) ingredients in their naked glory, combined together to form a party in your mouth. I’ve had the Creamy Avocado Soup(rich, thick, definitely creamy), the Veggie Sandwich(layered with a variety of delicious vegetables), the Raw Greek Pizza(Greek party in the mouth, provided by straight vegetables and fruits – yes, tomatoes and cucumbers are fruits), the Raw Asian Stir-Fry(oxymoron but tasty nonetheless), and Strawberry and Mango/Orange cheesecake(OMG!). I was at Bliss last week with a friend who can eat you under a table. Raised in a Mexican household he loves to eat and the whole non-meat, uncooked thing with straight fruits, veggies and some nuts is definitely foreign but he was ready and willing to try raw cuisine. We shared the avocado soup(cup size) and a cheesecake while he had the Vietnamese Bowl for his main. He couldn’t believe how good everything tasted and was stuffed by the end of the meal. The mango/orange cheesecake was so delicious he ordered a second one to take home! I’ve heard some people comment on how expensive it is, but really I think you get what you pay for. The most expensive item on the menu is $ 16 but you can easily eat there for less. The food is very filling and on many occasions have had to take part of my meal home. However, this food isn’t really meant to be kept overnight and eaten the next day so be forewarned. This location is all enclosed if you don’t want to brave the elements over at the Greenville location.

If you are looking for a restaurant that has immediate seating on a Friday night at 8:00 pm this is it. A definite plus in my book. The appeal of raw cold uncooked vegetables for dinner has, for some reason, not really caught on. But honestly, the food was beautiful to the eye and easily scarffed. The Vietnam Phở Soup was delectable and the kale and bliss salads fresh and bursting with layers of flavor. Rawsagna is not like any lasagna you have ever had. The play on words is misleading. Think of it more as a tower of layered zucchini with pesto and basil topped with a unique tomato purée. Light but filling. As a committed omnivore I can definitely recommend Bliss and I will not hesitate to return next time I have a yearning for something raw other than sex.

If you’ve never experienced Raw Food Cuisine, please don’t be shy. You must try this place. A few heads up before going; It’s outdoor seating only. If the weather is bad, they have clear tarps to block the elements, so don’t worry. Also, it’s cozy, very cozy. Bring a date, or maybe a party of four, any more than that and you may take up the whole restaurant. There are maybe a total of 20 seats. Parking is also cozy, but wasn’t an issue. Now to the important part, the food. It was amazing, savory and shockingly filling. I thought I was going to leave hungry. We got drinks, soup, and an entrée. I loved the play on words, Raw-sagna, cute. Server was attentive and the specially filtered water was yum.

Raw foodies out there — this is the place to go if you’re in Dallas or nearby. From their noodles, sandwiches, and pizzas to «bliss-ful» desserts everything is raw, vegan, and organic. Even if you’re just looking for something new to try in Dallas, this is a place to go. Located in a somewhat difficult to find location, Bliss will give you a one of a kind experience — different from all other restaurants in Dallas. It may be tiny, but it leaves a great impression. Who knew raw food could be so delicious? For those of you who dislike veggies and raw foods, you’ll be surprised at how much you’ll like the food at Bliss and how satisfied you’ll feel when you’re through. I especially recommend you to try a dessert at Bliss. It may be raw, but its just as good as any indulgent dessert, if not even better! Actually, it IS better, its much better for your body AND it taste amazing. Bliss is a place you’ll leave feeling good about yourself and what you just ate. — and you’ll actually be full too!

In the late 70’s my dad fed me oils straight from a spoon, homemade yogurt, lots of vitamins, and carob coated rice cream bars for dessert. A grew up loving odd tasting health food — wheat grass shots, microbiotic meals etc. So it seemed fitting to take him somewhere like a raw food café for lunch on his birthday. Unfortunately, Bliss Café is the epitome of what most vegetarian restaurants want to avoid, being overpriced, awkward and kind of boring. My Dad chose a lettuce wrap filled with, …lettuce. He couldn’t really find the beans supposedly inside. My entrée was basically the same thing, for $ 15 and came with tortillas, guacamole and a bean paste. Yes I felt good after the meal and yes the meal tasted great and was made with fresh ingredients. But I have to admit we were both left feeling a little bit, «This is it?» We had the sample of shots of 3 different 2 oz juices, chocolate bliss, goji and hemp horchata. Tasted ok for $ 6. There was only one bumbling tall lanky waiter for all 8 tables, who was like an adorable, but out-of-it, goofy college student who just woke up and walked in. Entrees average $ 14. It’s a clean small space with lots of preplexed and quit housewives trying something different. Bless our hearts. I contributed $ 40 for bliss and all I got was some fresh lettuce lettuce wraps. Spiral Diner has a more well rounded menu with similiar options for less money. You’d do better going to South Paw next door in my book. It made for an interesting but slightly uncomfortable lunch, sorry Dad.

Wow… interesting. but what an experience. I first learned about this restaurant through a friend who is a vegetarian who stumbled upon this restaurant. The boyfriend is the sweetest and he agreed to take me here last night! Even the brother was willing to try this place! He chose Bliss over a free meal at Fogo de Chao! The boys definitely came prepared with an open mind. We came on a late Monday night. We were driving southbound on Greenville and we’re looking and we’re looking and bam! We drove right past it! It’s hard to see going southbound on Greenville bc the sign is hidden but if you’re going northbound, you’ll definitely see the big green sign. Just like the other reviews, we were confused about parking. Good thing I read up on this restaurant through Unilocal bc I knew to park in the lot between Bliss and the Mexican restaurant. We were so confused where the entrance was. We thought it was by the sign but the main dining entrance is on the north end. Restaurant was a little empty but it was around 9 when we arrived. Seating was completely outside. Good thing we came late so it wasn’t too hot. There was only one waitress — she was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and was excited this was our first time so she explained everything very thoroughly. We started off with the sampler of elixirs. Normally it only comes with 3 shots but she was kind enough to give us 5 since it was our first time! We had the Chocolate Bliss, Hemp Horchata, Minty Hemp, Gogji Paradise, and young coconut juice. I honestly enjoyed them all. My favorite would probably be the Hemp Horchata but the Chocolate Bliss has nutrients to help you detox — I wouldn’t mind drinking that every day! For my entrée, I had the Spaghetti & «Meat Balls» which was surprising delicious! They use zucchini as noodles as a substitute for noodles. Delish! The boys were eating up my dish as well. We still had food leftover on my dish because they give you THAT much food. The bf had the Cowboy«Rawko» Tacos which I really really enjoyed. They only give you 2 but they certainly stuff those tacos. I think I might get these next time.(So yes! Which means I’m coming back!) The brother had the Pad Thai which was okay. It didn’t really taste like the real Pad Thai but I still enjoyed it. The boys were saying how it was similar to seaweed salad. I told the boys the noodles are made from kelp which is seaweed. they liked it! I really wanted to try dessert but I felt bad for the boys because they weren’t the biggest fan so I passed although I’ve heard great things about dessert. The food is raw… so everything is at room temperature, even the water!(They never offered any ice). The boys were wishing the food was at least warm but then it wouldn’t be raw anymore. I definitely enjoyed it. The prices are a little high but I understand as there is much work done to create the entrees. The location is a little off — the waitress told us the owner already owned the land it sits on so it was easy for her to start here. They’ve been opened for a year now and just recently opened a 2nd location in Preston center which I will most likely visit next. They certainly have loyal customers which keep their business thriving. I also have to say as I’m writing this review, I am extremely energized at 9 in the morning which I am usually not bc I’m not a morning person. There must be something in the food. or should I say, out of it? If you want to be fit, healthy, and just want to do treat your body good on the inside, I highly recommend yourself. Not only will you enjoy the food but you’ll immediately reap the benefits.

I LOVEBLISS and seriously, I never go hungry anymore :) I’m a gluten free vegetarian and eating out in Dallas can be well… completely complicated at best, if not impossible. I am able to eat anything on the menu and everything is out of this world delicious. My eye sight seems to improve(temporarily) after as well! My favorite is the kale enchiladas, the California rolls, the phở soup, and the minty hemp drink. It’s wonderful to eat pizza and sandwiches again! The mock tuna really does taste like TUNA! It is a little bit pricey but the portions are HUGE and the flavor is worth every cent!

I tried Bliss during my lunch break with my mom. While it was easy to find(right off Greenville and NW Highway)… parking was not. We walked in and sat on the patio(the only seating available from that entrance) shivering, waiting for the waitor to replace the propane tank and turn the heater on. All this to realize it was empty. We picked up our menus and silverware and walked around the OUTSIDE of the restaurant to sit in the tiny bar area at the other entrance of the building. Inconvenient, but we were being adventurous and trying not to be put off by it. On to the good part– the food! I had the Rawsagna and mom had the California pizza. We shared both. Amazingly delicious and FILLING! I was full until well after dinnertime. And the brownie was perfection. I was most pleased that it was all healthy and vegan, and therefore guilt-free. I’m annoyed that Bliss has traded the customer service experience for the good food… it doesn’t have to be one or the other. I’ve been to plenty of restaurants that have both. So my advice? Clean up the place a little, work on getting the food out quicker and make sure your customers feel comfortable and welcome in your establishment. I love the food, but am hesitant to go back simply because I couldn’t carry on a conversation with all the noise from the street(and the kitchen), the chill from outside and the lack of «privacy»(there’s just not enough room and everyone’s talking over each other).

Unbelievably good food. I had the rawsagne and the pesto layer and sun dried tomatoe paste layer was fabulous. I wish i had time to have had dessert too. Some people wonder whether raw food can be filling. It can. This meal was very satiating. The place is really small and simple. I like the style and great service. I will be going back soon.

If you’re on the fence about trying this place out, here are some things you might not have taken into account. 1) The food is raw, uncooked, therefore it’s delivered very quickly(and the presentation looks great) 2) The food is healthy but you wouldn’t know it based on the taste. Your buds will thank you. 3) There is hella more than just salad on the menu. I loved my tacos and I tried the margarita pizza which is also excellent. 4) If you’re scared about what to order b/c you need to know what’s in your food, don’t be. The staff is very friendly and patient and more than happy to «splain things».(ask about the pasta) 5) It actually fills you up. And I don’t mean that fake full where you’re hungry 5 minutes later. You really get a belly full. 6) For those of us not interested in eating things with a face, pulse, etc… it’s all vegan. Hooray! Not convinced yet, then you’re a boring eater with no hope and you should stick the stupid golden arches. The rest of us will be getting our raw on down at Bliss.

I went back to Bliss for Round Two to see what the delio is now that they have been open for a few months. So a few key points: 1– Yes they are still open. 2– The food was good: The Gazpacho was awesome! The Asian Noodle dish was great too! 3– There was a guy there that didn’t have shoes on. Like walked in off of the street without them and left the same way he came in. Kinda gross. 4– Sorry to say but these guys still kind don’t know what they are doing operation wise. a– True their hours of operation are better: 11−10pm Mon-Sat and 11 – 4 on Sunday. b– But the food still comes out pretty slow, they only have 10 tables in there and they were apologizing to people coming in saying they just had a «rush». One: I don’t care. Two: I was there… and that was no rush.(Okay so maybe not having caffeine, meat, carbs or alcohol for 5 days now has me a bit cranky.) c– They are getting a new menu. So instead of waiting until said menus are in-house, they are crossing off items they are out of. About ¼ of the food items were crossed off. Sorry but unacceptable. What is it about this overpriced place that draws me back?! Maybe it’s my curiosity as to how they make crust out of seeds or noodles out of seaweed. Whatever it is, I’m sure I’ll be back.

My husband was a little nervous when I mentioned I wanted to go to a raw food restaurant for dinner. He is really such a good sport through all my culinary adventures(and that’s part of why I love him), but this one he was really hesitant about. It goes back to a conversation we had a while back about an acquaintance I had who was proclaiming his love for raw beef. This acquaintance introduced a friend to raw beef right there in Whole Foods near the meat counter! That’s right – there they were chowing down on raw ground beef at a grocery store! And there’s my poor husband with visions of raw ground beef in his head! Poor guy! I said… no, no, no… this is a vegan restaurant!(Not sure I’m ready to chow down on raw meat, no matter how adventurous I am with food). Now, this is sort of place you have to go to an open mind with. Probably most people, like me, don’t go there because it is the best food on the planet. They go there because something about the raw food diet has struck a cord with them. Now first off, we were looking for the restaurant and thinking we’re getting close to it, when suddenly we realized we were about to drive right past it. I scarily looked at the horrible looking parking they had next to the tiny building and didn’t know where we were going to park. Luckily, on the next time around, we saw a nicer parking lot to the side of it that we hadn’t noticed before. Whew! Then, needing to visit the ladies’ room, I walked up to the door quickly, and was told there was a bathroom in there, but there was only outdoor seating for the restaurant. Surprise #2. Now, I’m not saying either one of those things is bad, but you just have to be mentally prepared(guess I didn’t do my homework about the place). That said, when I exited the buidling, I felt like for a moment, we were on some tropical island in outdoor seating of a restaurant. I saw my husband sitting leisurely on a padded bench, and the coverings of the patio were drawn back like curtains.(There also happened to be a wet coolness to the air to add to the tropical feeling). It was a pretty setting… The other first impression I liked is all the drinks were served in wine glasses. It seemed more regal that way. We had water, and also my husband had rooibus tea with goji berries sprinkled in. I had a drink like cold cocoa, but with a healthy green powder mixed in(mmm). For the meal, we shared the«Bliss Burger». We weren’t sure what the sauces were that came with it, and found out later that they were mayo, mustard, and ketchup. We wouldn’t have guessed, but it was better that way so we could just enjoy the taste of them and not have a pre-concieved idea about what they were *supposed* to taste like. The«bread» and the«burger» were rather flavorful in and of themselves. It was interesting to say the least. Another comment I have to make, is don’t have pre-conceived ideas about the portions. They’re small. However, personally, me and my husband think American portions at restaurants are too large anyways. Luckily, my husband happened to not be that hungry, so we happily shared the sandwich. Too bad we weren’t up for desert, though… I’m sure they had amazing desserts there. :( The other thing I have to add is for the portions, it is a tad pricey. However, I’m okay with that. I bet raw food restaurants are fairly scarce. One cool tidbit at the end is that I asked about the green powder in my drink. Turned out to be «ReVitaPhi phytonutrient alkalizing beauty blend booster». I was like where do you get that stuff? The waitress said, well actually we so happen to be a dealer of it. I was intrigued enough after reviewing the ingredients to take a bottle home with me. So there you go… me and my husband’s night at the Bliss Raw Café…

I was excited when my foodie/will try anything friend came to town and picked out Bliss for our sunday lunch experience(especially after we did FRIEDPIES on Saturday, see my review!). I knew the BF wouldn’t go so off we headed to sit on the patio. After reading the other Unilocal reviews, I knew I had to keep an open mind, and I was not at all disappointed! I started with the Rainforest bliss elixir and definitely could have super sized it! Why would you waste drink calories on those obnoxious drinks at 7 – 11 when you have these delicious options? My friend had the Chocolate Bliss and the Hemp Horchata(the server offered for her to have ½ of each when she couldn’t decide) and both were delicious! We shared a gazpacho(cucumber, pineapple, jalapeño, cilantro) — perfect on a sunny afternoon — and ordered the rawzagna and Greek rap for entrees. All wonderful! We were stuffed and didn’t even finish everything. Of course we wanted to try dessert so we got the brownies to go. This was the only slight disappointment, they reminded me of power bars instead of brownies, but that’s ok, I’ll just try something else next time! The service was great, the waiter greeted us as soon as we strolled onto the patio and paid us plenty of attention, even taking our picture. Parking also no problem, although the comments about parking next to the mexican restaurant definitely helped! So, the scenery isn’t the best, get over it. The prices aren’t Sonic, get over it. Bliss is my first raw food restaurant experience and I loved it. It’s Dallas, not Austin, and I think it’s right at home. Try it. Bliss, I’ll be back. I don’t care what anyone else says. You’re aces in my raw food book!

You gotta hand it to whomever had the balls to start a vegetarian restaurant in Dallas. In that particular part of Dallas… Like another reviewer, I *get* why fresh raw food needs to be pricier than other places who can serve out cheap carbs by cheap labor. On this first visit at 9:30pm on a Tuesday night, I was on a budget with a group and had already eaten my dinner… so I was disappointed that there seemed to be no mid-priced snack kind of items. A basic drink served in a small wine-sized glass starts at $ 5 and we did not like the hemp horchata(or the lemonade stuff they nicely brought out as a replacement when a fly landed in our glass) but my dining companions liked the chocolate drink as a novelty(I don’t think they finished it). I was hoping to spend about $ 10 and get something light, maybe with a drink, but ended up with a $ 24 bill for a main course that was nothing like I expected and a drink that was too intense after a sip or two. I had the kelp noodle bowl and somehow expected a light soup, but got a dense noodle dish instead. My expectations are not their problem; and the portion was generous… I just wish I had split this with my friend. I also wish there was an option for fresh fruit or fresh vegetables… just a little something. Every dish seemed really complicated. The menu has some really creative food on it. It was fun to peruse, and imagine what it might taste like(hint: nothing is as you expect). I wanted more light fare, but maybe I just didn’t know what to order. A note on the drinks: the lemonade-like drink tasted very acidic to us, frothy, but kind of sour too. It’s bearable for a sip or two, but left a bad taste in our mouths. The hemp horchata was a little too intense, and the chocolate drink was a lot like chocolate soy milk, but lighter. All drinks were really filling — try a taster before committing to a large drink. I gave Bliss 4 stars because, despite my lack of knowledge on what to order for a satisfying experience, they seem to have a really unique and wonderful idea going here. The prices combined with outdoor seating brought it down one star.

There is little middle ground concerning Bliss Raw Café & Elixir Bar — you either love or loathe it. Raw food is exactly as it sounds — uncooked vegetables(no tartar meats, sorry, carnivores) — but it’s more complex than a simple salad and a carrot stick. Bliss’ food preparation is downright artisanal. From the pressed gluten-free burger buns to the hand extracted almond milk for the chia seed pudding, the craftsmanship is quite impressive. The portions are very small but somehow they do fill you up. The food tasted great and the elixirs and deserts really stand out. The food is pricey compared to meals at similar venues. However, I am not sure that comparison is even fair given the unique method of preparation. Part of the raw food PR is that eating it exponentially increases your energy level. Now it may have been a psychosomatic reaction, but Katie P and I both felt a noticeable lift about an hour after dining there. Now, I have to lay out three huge issues. Two of which make me question not only the business sensibility of Bliss’ proprietors but also their sanity: 1. Outdoor only seating — You do realize where you live right? In my opinion, and I am a guy who can take the heat, in a city that normally has summer temps between 95 – 105 degrees the restaurant is uninhabitable 3 – 4 months out of the year. 2. Sans ice(I’m not making this up) — Ice is not served in the tea or water. Maybe this is part of the raw food ethos, but seriously, this is not only uncomfortable(especially considering the current seating arrangements) it’s downright cruel. 3. Ssslllooowww seeerrrvvviiiccceee — The servers were very friendly, but also terrapin-like on both visits. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt and say this is due to the prep time of the food. But simple, expected tasks take forever. Getting flatware or a refill seem almost impossible. And with limited shelter from the heat, the servers should be refilling water glasses at warp speed, not letting peoples’ brain cells pop from heat stroke.(Maybe the inside kitchen has air conditioning and they were staying put.) It’s restaurant 101 — get off your collective ass hippies and take care of your customers!
Great concept, good food, average execution, lousy venue. I am coming back in the fall. Please help me to like you more.

This place is a great idea, but not for me. I could clearly never be a vegan. I love vegetarian style food, but this place was just yuck. It is a cute atmosphere and we were lucky to find parking right away and a nice table outside. They were quite understaffed and we waited a long time for our food… it doesn’t get cooked, how could it possibly take so long? We shared a few items and started with the corn chowder. This was the only thing I would consider eating again. It was cold and refreshing, although there was a spice in it that I can’t quite put my finger on, but I did not care for. We moved on the the nude«pizza» and the Greek wrap. One word: GROSS! The pizza«crust» was soft and chewy and grainy and reminded me of the inside of a fig Newton. The chopped tomatoes and sun dried tomatoes on top of it were just OK. The Greek wrap was incredibly salty. It was a large mound of hummus and then some random carrots and pickles and guacamole??? Weird, mushy, too salty. This place is also very expensive… on top of the bad food, bad service, and money shelled out, I was late to work after stopping at the Sonic close by to get a lunch I could stomach.

Yay! Dallas finally got a raw food restaurant! I grew up in Big D(on chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, gravy and mac n’ cheese, btw) and after moving to the SF Bay Area a couple of years ago got into raw food. I’m fortunate and spoiled by Café Gratitude in SF so having Bliss Raw in Dallas makes me even happier when I come home to visit. My dining companion and I ordered the Chocolate Bliss elixir to start. It wasn’t as thick as I expected… kind of like a healthy version of a Yoo-Hoo. I felt like it ‘needed something’ but I can’t place my finger on it… maybe a tiny bit of avacado to thicken it up a bit and a little more cocoa powder. It was good nonetheless. I ordered the Party Pizza and immediately recognized the crust as being the infamous raw onion bread. It’s good but I’ve realized I’m sensitive to Nama Shoyu(raw soy sauce) so I think in the future I’ll shy away from dishes with that. If you’re not sensitive to it, definitely try it, it’s really very good. The dish overall(see uploaded pic) was great and as usual with raw dishes, you fill up pretty fast(your body absorbs more nutrients with raw food so you end up eating less). If you even think you’re full, stop eating, btw… you’ll be painfully full soon after if you don’t. My dining companion got the Rawsagna, which I wish I would have gotten because it’s a personal favorite of mine no matter where I get it. It was fantastic! I never leave a raw restaurant without ordering a dessert because it’s always the best part(so leave room!). Some raw desserts taste better than the ‘regular version’ so really… try one. I had the blueberry cheesecake and wasn’t as impressed as I have been with raw desserts from other places(or my own) but I’d try a different one next time for sure. If you’re new to raw cuisine, a few things you must know: –It’s a LOT of work prepping food that isn’t cooked above 105 – 115 degrees. I spend a lot of time doing this myself and it’s work, people. –Some of the ingredients are rather expensive(raw cocoa powder, raw nuts/seeds, etc) so if the prices seem expensive, believe me, I make a lot of this stuff and it does cost quite a bit… but very, very worth it! –Long prep time, lots of planning and fresh ingredients are why raw cuisine is more expensive but you will feel good when you leave here, not bloated, not fat, not gross… just full, happy and healthy. –The pizza will not taste like Dominos and the lasagna will not taste like Macaroni Grill… don’t expect that going into it or you’ll be disappointed… think of it as a ‘new cuisine.‘ The only thing I think is weird is the location… like another reviewer said, I’d expect this place to be on Knox-Henderson or somewhere in Uptown… not down from the Million Dollar Saloon(ha!).

Amazing! Can’t wait to go back. I highly recommend this place. I ordered the sea salad sandwich, and my friends ordered the tacos, gazpacho soup, and a caesar salad. All of it was wonderfully fabulous. Also, order the choclate elixir… it’s a must! Great for vegetarians/vegans/omnivores/dinosaurs with nut and/or gluten allergies as well. Parking situation wasn’t the greatest, but we caught a train from Mockingbird station; the walk isn’t far from Park to the restaurant. Don’t let the lack of parking discourage you, though. It’s well worth it, however you get here. Check-check it out.
