Worst experience ever!
If I could give this place 0 stars, I most certainly would! Poor excuse for fine dining… I’ve gotten better service at fast food restaurants! Our waiter was angry looking, at best and gave us terrible service. Was seated for 15 – 20 minutes before evening pouring my a glass of water, and even then I had to ask for it! After ordering the food was bland, uneventful and off putting. Ordered the beef tartare which tasted and looked like dog food with a side of stale chips. Last I’ve checked I’m not a pigeon… Would not be coming back for more. The lamb meatballs were dry and the chop salad was under dressed. The only thing half way decent were the brussel sprouts, but even then the flavoring wasn’t anything special.
Will never come back! Would much rather go get a happy meal at McDonald’s… At least then, I can get my food served along with a smile!

Ambience is great. Staff very accommodating. The deserts were all awesome, especially the s’more mousse. The main courses were just ok. I was expecting way more. Loved the lounge upstairs. Very fun. I only gave Bistro 31 three stars because the entrees were disappointing for the price point. If I was just rating the staff and deserts and lounge upstairs, I would give it five stars. Decided to settle on four stars. I wish I would have tried the escargot

We went on New Years and ordered from their brunch menu. Had the Benedict, tuna tartar and the pasta.
Mediocre taste and not too impressed.

Fun place great music. I used to go a lot. Last time I went though the bar tender padded my bill. I have attempted to get it reconciled about 4 times over the past month. Crickets. Not sure I’ll be back… out of principal. If I do… I’m watching like a hawk. Was sure to let my friends know that go a lot. Disappointing.

Me and my partner decided to try Bistro 31 tonight for a celebration. We were not at all disappointed in our selection.
We were greeted very courteously by the hostess then taken to our table where we were greeted by the manager Michael.
Our server, Christina, recommended a couple appetizers (escargot and a tartar) which were brought to the table quickly and were delicious. After that she recommended a few items that were specials and gave us some highlights off the menu. I got a pasta special with rock shrimp in a Chardonnay sauce and my partner got the chicken. BOTH were absolutely fantastic. Another manager, Delainey, stopped by the table at one point to see if we were doing ok. Service from our waiter and the management were both stellar!
We had an exceptional experience and will definitely be back!

Some locals took us here for the first time. Although it was really loud and cramped in there, the dinner and service were great! I think the real estate in this super high-​end shopping mall is just really expensive so they are maximizing the space. The food was delicious, we had the steak and a couple fish entrees. The salad was also great, it was held together on the plate with large long strips of zucchini or cucumber. Everyone there seemed to be having a good time.

Although i love the ambiance of this place and the menu is fabulous, the food is strictly average and the service is not great most of the time. I’ve retried the place many times and always leave disappointed.

A terrible experience indeed. Great food. Great bartenders. But careful for the local drunk ladies that have nothing to do. She was insulting and abnoxiois !!! Bartendah handled it like a man and took care of my drinks. Still. Won’t be back.

The main restaurant repeatedly confused* our reservation for a large group in the same night. At first the claimed they didn’t have it. Then they claimed it was a for a different number of guests. Then the claimed they had it it again, but it was for a different group that was exactly the same size. [The reservation had been confirmed multiple times prior to our arrival.]
The staff in the bar upstairs worked hard to compensate for the dubious manager in the main restaurant. However, the downstairs manager kept throwing the upstairs manager under the bus.
The table wait staff were very attentive and deserve high marks.
The food was only so-​so and I wouldn’t recommend it even with out the reservation hassles. It was neither imaginative nor comfortable.
*I am going to guess that he simply trashed our reservation in favor of a regular/​known customer. That is great if you are a regular; not so great if you are from out of town.

Good restaurant. The lobster salad is small though and is not half a lobster.
Good coffee. Good desserts. Good brunch. Best thing is eggs Benedict and the soups.

Great atmosphere. Ok food. Watery cocktails. Had dinner here on a Saturday night. Food was ok, I had the burger and soup, my wife had sushi and our friends had salmon and soup + fish of the day. Probably won’t visit here again and not somewhere I would recommend.

One of my favorites… good for just a glass of champagne, brunch or dinner.

Highland Park is a lovely shopping area in Dallas. Prior to an afternoon shopping, my friend, her 3 year old daughter and I, had brunch at Bistro 31.
There is a lovely outside area as well as a very nice indoor seating area (better for the hot days).
Our waitress was very helpful in suggestions for the little one, and my friend and I shared the Bistro Omelet and Baked Eggs Florentine. She had a mimosa and I had a cup of freshly pressed coffee. Everything was divine! We felt pampered, relaxed, and ready to shop!

I tried the grilled Salmon today and it was pretty good! But the starter Foie Gras has quite smaller portion than before. So little disappointed…

Went with mother, sis, and brother-​in-​law for mother’s birthday. Staff was very accommodating.
Food was very good and the candle on mother’s desert was cute.

My first time at this amazing restaurant. Service was impeccable, food was delicious — great relaxed atmosphere! Highly recommend. I really enjoyed the lemon ricotta pancakes, Crème brûlée and of course mimosas!

Whether you have a taste for scallops, steak or burgers they will fix you up something yummy! I came here for NYE with a group of friends for dinner. It’s a classy spot without being too stuffy. Our waiter was the sweetest and very accommodating despite how busy they were. Excellent wine list! I will surely return! Especially since I left my scarf there… yeah I have to go back to get that.

Bistro 31 is located at the center of Highland Park Village, an open air shopping center in the well-​to-​do town of Highland Park. Here you’ll find yourself rubbing elbows with some wealthy folks in the upper class. It’s not uncommon to see Bentleys and such as you walk up. If you do find yourself going to B31 for dinner service you’ll need to make reservations as they will most likely not have seating for you. However, if you do decide to pull a Hail Mary and go in with no reservation like the true maverick that you are, you’ll find yourself sitting by the kitchen door. Request a booth or spot by the window when making your reservation.
The dress is more on the business casual side. Remember, you’re not going to your favorite local diner. B31 is a higher class establishment and the waitstaff will be expecting you to look the part. It will help you get some respect and not be frowned upon while trying to enjoy your overpriced food. For the style police out there, you will notice Louboutin and Versace prominently displayed on the patrons.
I’ve heard great reviews about this establishment. I’ve also heard that it recently changed hands and the menu is not what it once was. After eating a full course meal I have to say there is nothing really special about this business. I ordered the server’s recommendations to include the tartar, lobster bisque, Mediterranean Sea Bass special, apple tart and banana bread pudding. The service was on par. I would personally expect a team drop with the food, but it’s not a deal breaker.
Overall, the food and experience is average. It’s great place to grab a meal before going up to the lounge or out on the town. Good for work lunch meetings and small social gatherings.
If it’s your birthday, they put sparklers in the dessert.

I had a great experience at Bistro 31. Now… I will admit that I am a huge fan of Toulouse (I promise I am not cheating on you, Toulouse!) and this restaurant is owned by the same restaurant group, so is my opinion a bit skewed? Probably. But does it really matter? Probably not.
We planned a dinner for one of my co-​workers here on a Saturday night, and we had a group of about 10 people. Upon arrival, we were sat quickly and tended to with great care. The waiters were fantastic, and all of the drinks were tasty and fresh. Our table ordered a plethora of appetizers; I tried the tuna tartare, the meatballs and the crab cakes. All three were excellent! The meatballs were very tender and delicious. The tuna tartare was so good that I ordered a second round for my actual meal. I also tried a side of the mac-​and-​cheese, and it was quite tasty.
All in all, we had a great experience here from start to finish. Every single one of my co-​workers loved their food and drinks. The tab that we ran up at this restaurant was NOT cheap, so beware that items add up very quickly haha. However, Bistro 31 has a lovely atmosphere and I am sure we will be back.
Also, not to be missed is Lounge 31 upstairs for after-​dinner drinks… Classy environment and phenomenal people-​watching!
