This place was fun. I had only ever heard of benihanas referenced in movies lol, so when I had the opportunity to take my husband there for his birthday I got excited. Our chef/entertainer was hilarious and made food fun. I got the chicken on the hibachi and my husband got the lobster and steak combo. My chicken was cooked perfectly, as was the steak. My husbands only complaint was that the shrimp could have used more flavor or spice or something. The veggies were delicious and so was the fried rice. This was a good time and a quick and painless drive so I think I will be back for another holiday or just a night out.

Our entire party was told the wait was 30 minutes. We asked at 30 minutes how much longer and one of the hostess’s said 30 more minutes. We said oh we thought it was only 30 minutes and she in a horribly rude tone that she said it was an hour wait. We all said no you said 30 minutes and she YELLED at us and and said she said an hour. This created a very awkward scene so we left. It was honestly one of the worst restraunt experiences I have ever had and it would have been fine except for the behavior of the hostess. I am very upset by this. It created an awkward situation for everyone involved. Worst experience I have ever had.

We use to love coming here but lately service has been horrible as soon as walk into the door the hostess didn’t even bother to make eye contact with us. We felt unwelcome and on top of that it was still early and the restaurant looked empty but they told us to wait 25 minutes to me it seems like they didn’t want to serve us. Never coming back here again there are so many other better hibachi restaurant in Dallas.

Benihana, at one time, set the bar for hibachi. Each of the last four consecutive visits with my family were more disappointing than the last. First the«show» is gone, may as well have the cook from McDonald’s. Second, the taste is average at best, nothing pops. Third, a hair in desert. And last, the chef has allergies or a cold when a clear liquid drips from his nose into the cooking food. Yes that was the last straw. Hana at Beltline and Shiloh has by business now.

GARLICBUTTERRRRRRR! This is THEBEST hibachi in town and I know no one else could even be compared!!! I always order the hibachi shrimp hibachi entrée with a double order of chicken fried rice and it has NEVER disappointed me every single time I go. The flavoring of the hibachi grill is so consistent and tasted to perfection. The hibachi chefs are even more entertaining which makes the whole experience even better! Make sure you ask for a side of garlic butter and you will not regret this! The garlic dipping sauce is also another one of my favorite things about Benihana. Overall: I have been to many other hibachi restaurants and it does not measure up to Benihana at all. I STRONGLY recommend dining here if you’re a fan of hibachi. **Tip: Benihana offers a really good happy hour menu option and the prices are so affordable. I recommend trying the happy hour if the dinner menu price is a little steep for the pocket books. Also, make sure you sign up for the Benihana newletter via email because during your birthday month, they will email you a $ 30 gift certificate to use during the whole month!

I don’t know if it’s just this location or all Benihana’s restaurants, but this place is in decline. Benihana’s has turned into a complete money grab. They do not reinvest in their restaurant as evidenced by the aging of the building and out of date interior. You can’t expect somebody to pay $ 700 for a meal and not staff your restaurant with top flight wait staff. When I compare the same price point experience to other restaurants, the service and experience is not competitive. We even had to find our own ‘to go’ boxes.

My latest visit here was very disappointing, and this would be at the fault of the hostesses. I don’t want to recall the contents of my first review because this is still a good restaurant. Again, my main issue here is directed towards the hostesses because they lack the skills beyond how to properly seat people. It was just my party and another at the table. The other grill across from us was vacant, so we got nice entertainment from the chef with no distractions. The room was very peaceful and quiet. For the entire first half of our stay we enjoyed it fully. It wasn’t until we got bombarded by a group of 6 screaming, undisciplined children and 3 inattentive parents(*look at the photo I uploaded!*). This was the moment our chef, Mango, stopped entertaining. I mean, it was useless if he did, because the whole vibe of our table just went downhill, especially after seeing the expression on our faces. Think about it… the room was nice and peaceful — we laughed, chatted, and enjoyed nibbling through our meal… and then BAM! You got children screaming left and right… and even one small 4-year-old boy was out sitting behind my chair hiding from his mother. This is uncalled for! Tie your child to a leash or something! I can’t afford having my expensive dinner interrupted by people who can’t be responsible parents. There should be a hibachi restaurant specifically for families without a «parenting» license. This is not the restaurants fault, but the hostesses should know better as far as how to seat guests so everyone will have an enjoyable experience. As a hostess, you should use common sense on how you seat people. Organization and the«order» of how sections would be sat, or whatever it is – it’s IRRELEVANT! The customer experience is a priority. I have trust issues on having a good dinner now. Well, not really, but you know what I mean!

Guest check #10030 On September 17, 2015 at 6:30pm, my friend went in to place an order for 2 double orders of chicken fried rice TOGO and a shrimp tempura and Kiran light while he waited for his TOGO order. The bartender delivered 2 single orders of fried rice to him. He told the bartender this was incorrect and then he brought out his shrimp tempura to go as well. All of that was resolved BUT my main issue was the YOLKINFUSEDEGGSHELL that was in my order of fried rice. It was very thick and just completely unsanitary. I almost cut my gums biting into the spoonful of rice I was about to take. It was unsightly and is a great way too lose your appetite. We are both extremely dissatisfied with the service and product. It’s disappointing because we like Benihana’s but this was a very bad experience.

Mediocre hibachi restaurant. This location is big so great for a large group of people but besides that there’s nothing special about it. The food was like any other hibachi restaurant, it was good but not great. Our chef only came to cook, he didn’t try to do any tricks or even talk to us unless it was about our order. I wouldn’t return to this location.

I usually frequent the same places. Once in a blue moon, I’ll feel spontaneous. Upon arrival the atmosphere was amazing. There’s a bridge that leads to the entrance with a pond underneath filled with all kinds of fish. A wonderful sight! The chef put on quite a show. I was very impressed. Lots of butter though! Good food. I would recommend.

I’m so sad and disappointed to see my Benihana go down hill. I’ve been going to this location since I was in 5th grade, 35 years ago! I’ve always enjoyed the«show», the Benihana punch, & the food; til now)= We arrived an hour early to our reservation, hoping that we would get seated early. We did not. We FINALLY got seated 15 minutes past our reservation time, and what’s even more annoying, is that we were the last ones to be seated at the table. The waiter looked at us being seated and literally said, «oh no, now I have to start all over explaining everything» WTH? We had been sitting, waiting in the bar, doing NOTHING for an HOURAND15MINUTES. Why are these people waiting on us?! The food was extremely salty, the meat was extremely dry, and it was extremely over priced. It hurts to write this review, because I have such great memories of this place. *IF* I ever go again, it will be during lunch, because it is certainly not worth the dinner pricing.)=

We came here to eat after church, surprisingly wasn’t too busy at 11:45 I guess we somehow beat the lunch rush. Our hibachi chef was very kind and put on a good show. I ordered the steak and shrimp lunch duet with chicken fried rice and it was soo amazing! The shrimp was cooked with a lemon butter sauce that awakened my flavor tones in a burstful hallelujah. My well done steak was juicy and a pleasure to eat. The chicken fried rice was nothing like I’ve ever had before, it was so rich and tasteful in every way. As far as comparing Benihana to my other favorite hibachi place Kobe Steaks… Kobe wins in style appearance and quality. But Benihana is right up there close with Kobe. As far as price goes I Love Benihana! A bit less than Kobe.

This was my first time at a Benihana, and it was pretty much exactly what I expected. Average, Americanized Japanese food in a fun, entertaining environment. No complaints here, but neither was I blown away by any aspect of the experience. I came around noon on a Monday with a few new coworkers for a welcome-to-the-team lunch. The exterior was pretty impressive – you cross a wooden footbridge over a little pond to reach the front door of a building that was clearly constructed to look as stereotypically Japanese as possible. Inside it’s dark and cool, and the hostess greeted us kindly and held the door for us as we entered. The three of us were seated at one of the cooking tables, and after a brief wait to see if anyone else would be joining our table(no one did) a server took our orders. I ordered the Lunch Special Hibachi Scallops – about 8 scallops, a bowl of vegetable fried rice, some veggies(zucchini and onions), and a small salad for $ 12.50. First our salads were brought to us, and they were bland, just a little bowl of iceberg lettuce with a few cherry tomatoes, smothered in a tangy orange dressing. Then our chef arrived and began cooking our meats, veggies and rice on the flat stove surface, and that was definitely interesting to watch. He didn’t put on too much of a show, but then we were discussing business and not really engaging with him too much, so that’s probably partially our fault. The food was all perfectly decent and I left feeling full and satisfied. I’d say the standout was probably the vegetable fried rice – it had some great flavors. The scallops were just fine, nothing too special. I would be interested to come back for dinner with friends, order more interesting dishes and engage more with the chef so we could get the full Benihana experience.

Lips are on fire. that must mean I stopped at Benihana’s for lunch! Chili shrimp roll is my favorite«sushi» — in quotation marks because it doesn’t really contain any raw seafood. You will find it on the ‘Lounge Specials’ menu. It contains crab, cream cheese and seaweed tempura in a spicy chili sauce topped with spicy crab, a fried shrimp and slice of fresh jalapeño. You can’t really taste the seaweed much, just delicious creamy cheese, shrimp/crab and a bit of spice. Delicious and a nice amount for lunch! Each piece takes me about 2 – 3 bites to eat.

This is by far the best Benihana around! The drive up to the restaurant in itself is stunning. You pull up under the covered valet area so when it’s raining you don’t get wet which is an absolute plus considering how much rain Dallas has been getting lately. Then you cross this awesome wooden bridge that overlooks a pond with Japanese koi fish. Absolutely beautiful and great photo ops!!! The inside of the restaurant is so beautiful and the tables are separated into different rooms so it gives more of a private feel and it keeps the noise level down. We came here on Memorial Day and were immediately seated. Our waiter, Miguel, was a wonderful and attentive server. We never had to ask for drink refills and I was with a party of 5 people who were drinking sake like it was going out of style! Our chef was also named Miguel and he was the best chef I have ever had in all my years of being a Benihana customer. He was engaging and funny and told jokes and did tricks like no other chef ever has. The food was absolute perfection and everyone at my table was completely satisfied. This Benihana definitely sets the standard and as someone who has visited many different Benihanas I can say this one takes the cake. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone!

I pretty much grew up going to this location! I have very fond memories of this place as a a little girl. It’s the original gangsta of Benihanas. Beautiful, inviting atmosphere. Lovely chefs who will charm your socks off with their hibachi moves. Freaking delicious chicken, beef and rice with lots of fresh veggies! Their sushi is decent too and I just love the salad with that amazing ginger-y dressing. I could drink it! This is a good place to go for birthday parties and celebrations. I have been to the other locations around the DFW metroplex and none of them quite compare to the caliber of service and food you will get at this one. Go here!

We have come here twice for two birthdays this last year with families of 6 – 10. Its always a good time because the family sits around a table and the chef interacts with the guest. The only complaint I would have is the wait. I made reservations both times, and had one person running last both times, they will not allow you you to sit without EVERY person, which is RIDICULOUS! I had presents and and balloons and wanted to put them at the table but they refused to seat us, then when we finally get to the table it takes forever ti get drinks and the chef to finally come over. I do enjoy this place and will definitely be back but the wait is a killer.

I’m disappointed. Presentation wasn’t great. Our guy struggled to understand a word in English. He didn’t show any good tricks, the one he did miserably failed. The food isn’t great either. I certainly expect more for this price.

I want so badly to give it all 5 stars, because let’s be real here, the food is phenomenal and is well worth the price you pay for. I’m gonna start with why I want to give it 5 stars. You start with soup and salad. The miso soup is amazing, and the salad is as well. The ginger dressing is to die for, and they put the perfect amount too. I’ve gotten their sushi once, and the dragon and Alaskan roll are the best rolls I have ever had. I would go again for the sushi alone! Then I usually get the Splash ‘n Meadow or the Benihana Delite. You get shrimp as an appetizer after soup and salad. The chicken fried rice is extra, but it’s worth it for two words: GARLICBUTTER. The steak, chicken, and shrimp are always cooked to perfection. Green tea ice cream to finish and you’re so full you won’t want to eat for days. However, I haven’t had the best experience with the chefs. They’ve been sort of bland and just cook and do one or two tricks and they’re done. I have seen other chefs around that really make sure their table has fun, and it’s so entertaining to watch that. But then you get a chef that is just meh and it really kind of a let down. You go to a hibachi grill to watch them cook and do tricks in front of you. Even with the few disappointing chefs, the food is always well worth it all.
