Wonderful barbecue, tender flavorful brisk, ribs are divine, don’t miss the fresh cut fries.

Paid $ 11 for a cafeteria quality cheeseburger with fries that was all in bits looking like leftovers from the fryer. That was advertised as the special for day day. This will be my first and last visit here.

I would have to agree that this place is very underrated. The brisket is amazing and their baked potato was delicious

The baked beans taste like catchup and the potato salad was the worst I’ve ever had. I couldn’t even finish the potato salad it was so gross – a real disappointment because it’s usually my favorite. Side are slim picking here. Even at 7:00 for dinner, they looked like they’d been sitting out all day with that sheen of dried skin congealing on the top of each pot. The meat is the one saving grace here. I had a sliced brisket sandwich. Nice and smoky. Tender, but still lean. Wish the bun didn’t look like someone had stepped on it though. I probably won’t come back.

I like the spinach casserole and the baked potato casserole. I am not a fan of the meat but the sides are good. Make sure to get some bbq sauce to put on the potato dish.

i love this place! this was our second time having bbq since we moved to dallas. i had the beef plate, my husband had the rib basket and my mom also had ribs. we also got onion rings and jalapeño poppers. boy, was everything delicious! the meat was tender and the ribs were out of this world! the bbq sauce was really tangy texas style, and the beans and other sides(i had coleslaw) were great. plus the price is reasonable for how much you get(with sides and all). and the staff are so friendly and nice! this will be our go to bbq place from here on out.

Most of the staff are nice. This one lady who didn’t even take my to-go order came in the middle of my order and forgot to pack one of my sides. It was frustrating because I can tell the other guy that actually took my order probably would have known to pack it if he did. The food was ok. I got the chicken fried steak sandwich, brisket, sausage, and ribs. All very dry. For sides I tried the fried okras, onion rings, cole slaw, and mac salad. Cole slaw and fried okras were okay, but onion rings kept falling apart. I wouldn’t come back unless I absolutely had to. It’s just good enough for a bbq fixing if you couldn’t go to a better joint.

i have eaten here several times but never again. No problems until today. Ribs were small with almost no meat and way over priced $ 13.95 for plate with 2 sides. Sauce bitter and cool. French fries were rock hard. i did like the cole slaw

Yikes. When the bread and sides are the best thing about your BBQ joint, you’ve got a problem. Decided to try this after multiple good recommendations from my nearby hotel. The service when you arrive is poor– they bark at you to grab a tray then ask what meat you want. The menu and options aren’t easy to spot or decipher. I had the 3 meat platter. All of the meat was barely warm and lacked any flavor– the ribs were the best but there was barely any meat on the bone. The sausage was slimy and gross. Brisket was just ok. The sides were decent, but a meal this does not make. When I was done I looked for a place to bus my tray — I’ve had this experience at other similar places. When I couldn’t find anywhere, I asked the staff behind the counter and was loudly laughed at for asking. Sorry to try and help out. Finally, I asked for my food bill to be split from my beer since I was in town on business and the company won’t pay for alcohol but reimburses food. Requesting this, plus an itemized receipt for the food for reimbursement purposes, got quite an eyebrow raise. I would not return again. Avoid.

Delicious brisket, well seasoned and moist, good bark on the ribs. Fresh cut fries instead of the usual frozen ones at most restaurants.

Kinda expensive for the quality of the bbq. Been here twice, wife liked the baked potatoes one time with ham other with turkey. I have gotten pork porboy and the diner ribs. Porboy was average and then the ribs didn’t have a lot of meat on them, but did have good flavor.

This is an underrated BBQ joint. Their brisket is soft, tasty and all around great. My go-to plate is the Three-Meat Platter: brisket, pulled pork and hot links. You can’t go wrong with any meat, really. One of the best features is that the restaurant is literally a block from my office. So I can walk a little after a great lunch. Their service is great too. You will be greeted with a «Welcome! What would you like, young man?» No matter your age. In summary, what makes Back Country BBQ one of my favorite places is its winning combination: great food, friendly service and a very convenient location.

Back Country BBQ recently catered my wedding. They deserve my five-star rating for a few different reasons: 1. Pecan Lodge was scheduled to cater, but backed out two weeks prior to the wedding. We called Back Country in a pinch and they rushed to our aid. This alone deserves an outstanding write-up. But there’s more… 2. The food was great. I am not saying it is fighting its way to the Texas Monthly top ten, but it is certainly a solid choice for BBQ, and a place that I will definitely revisit. Everything was solidly delicious. Our brisket was juicy and tender. The chicken was a perfect white meat option and very tasty. The sausage was outstanding. The potato salad was first viewed with skepticism by some, but many guests were raving about its unique nature and taste. Several people went out of their way to comment and ask where we got our food. It was enjoyed by all. 3. CUSTOMERSERVICE: Mike was the nicest and most helpful person to work with. This was some of the best customer service I have ever encountered. The catering staff went above and beyond to serve our guests and help with the clean-up. They were a big part of the event and they took on the role of hosts in the most inviting and helpful way while serving dinner. I can’t say enough good things about them. I will stop here, but I highly recommend Back Country for events and for good BBQ in general. Good people and good food.

As a born and bred Texan, I’m a bit of a BBQ aficionado. Stated plainly, this place does not make the cut. I ordered what I get at most all BBQ joints — two meat plate with chopped brisket and jalapeño sausage(where it’s available). The brisket was bland bland bland. Not smokey, not juicy, and served luke warm. The hotlinks were terrible. They almost tasted like summer sausage — that pre cooked, impossible to spoil, meat that comes in a wrapper that’s common on camping trips. The links were just not good at all. The saving grace was the potato salad which was quite good, and the coleslaw which was solid. Also an ample pickle bar with all the fixin’s, a must for any BBQ joint. Overall, I would’ve had a tastier experience eating at Dickey’s. The last 5BBQ joints I’ve eaten at have been much better.

Get the 2 meat combo with ribs. The baked potato case role side dish is awesome. I’d pass on the BBQ sauce or just go really light(too much molasses for my taste) and use the hot sauce etc they have near the onions and such. This place feels like a BBQ restaurant. Good peeps.

I don’t even know where to start. This place is seriously foul. I ate some of my ribs and brisket, then sat and pondered if I wanted to force gag it out of me in their crapper are mine. Worst bar b q I have EVER had!!!

Best BBQ in Dallas! Their BBQ sauce is to die for. Great fried okra and green beans(with carrots vs ham). I had the BBQ brisket(8.95 with 2 sides). Since I didn’t want the bread, they gave me more brisket — at no extra charge. I also ordered a side of sausage — which was amazing. They have an all you can eat pickle and pepper bar, yeah! And the service was super friendly(as in Texas friendly) and fast. And there’s lot’s of parking.

Very friendly staff but the BBQ was average. Ordered the two meat plate at 1:30 pm, which I think ended up meaning I ate what was left over for the 11:30 am — 12:30 pm lunch rush. The ribs were fall off the bone tender but I think I would rather have the more tactile experience of chewing on ribs that were cooked with smoke through the whole process; I would wager that these were either slow-cooked or baked before being finished with a little smoke. The brisket was lean, non-smoking and non-flavorful. ’nuff said. The onion rings were not freshly made and, as a result were greasy without any crunch. It is quite possible that if I had made it back to town an hour or two earlier, my experience would have been much better but I will not be back to test that theory.

I love meat. I watch Pitmasters – I know my way around BBQ. I was a little concerned when I went in and asked for burnt ends and they looked at me and said«WHAT?» So I told them it’s the ends of the brisket that got a little charred. So they slapped them on my plate and we were in business. I bellied up to the sides and got some hot beans and potato salad. They had all ready run out of corn’o’brien and green tomato relish. But it was late in the evening. The burnt ends were divine, but the sausage was just eh. I used the sauce on the sausage. The brisket didn’t need sauce – nice a smokey.

The name«Back Country» fits this place perfectly. I ordered the Three Meat Combo with ribs, hot links, bbq chicken, potato salad, fried okra, and Texas toast. My fried okra came straight out of the fryer, and had a nice crispy batter to it. You can imagine my disappointment when I bit in and realized that the okra was pretty much devoid of any flavor whatsoever. The potato salad had a great mustard flavor. Oddly, the potatoes were very finely diced, so the consistency was much more like egg salad. When I first looked at my combo plate, I was a little upset that it only came with two small ribs. Although, after I started eating them, I decided that they had probably given me two too many. The bbq chicken was cooked perfectly. My favorite meat of the trio was definitely the hot links. They had a nice char on the outside, so there was a good snap to the casing.
