What a great little café spot! K found this cute café after looking for a place that served gluten-free menu items. Located in the Fairfield area, about a mile or so down from the Houston Premium Outlets near Hwy 290. The place is great! A very casual café shop where you can dine in or out for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. K said it gave him a very Euro feel. The inside is not too bright, not too dark, the front windows give the space plenty of natural light. There are couches available to chill at and also a few tables to sit down and enjoy your meal. All while listening to what sounded like ‘italian’ music playing in the background. I had a grilled cheese sandwich on a croissant and K had a grilled chicken sandwich on gluten free bread. We can both agree that our meals were pretty damn good! I even made a comment about wanting to order another grilled cheese sandwich, it was THAT good. The owner of the café is also such a nice guy! He came by and asked how our meals were. After talking to him for a bit he gave me an unfortunate heads up about the café closing its doors soon. From what he said in the conversation it will not be permanent but they will be looking to relocate within the area. Everyone was so polite, the food was tasty! I hope to visit again soon!

Super cute café. A lovely family ran business, I think. The food is good(try their paninis!) and their frapes are so refreshing!(Matcha green tea & chai flavor recommended) the customer service here is amazing! You can really tell they care about their guests. The ambience is nice, quiet café setting as opposed to Starbucks.

I wish I were exaggerating when I say that the food takes an hour to come out. People around me staring into the kitchen — just bizarre. I mentioned to the waitress that I waiting with two kids — how much longer? She assured me that it was being put on the tray and was on its way. Ten minutes later, a total of one hour, we left. No food. Unbelievable.

I LOVE this place. I’ve been here many times, for both breakfast and lunch, and I have never been disappointed. Melody’s chicken salad sandwich is one of my favorites. I recommend getting it on a croissant. They are fresh, soft, and big. The people who work there are so friendly, and constantly going out of their way to make sure you are comfortable, and pleased with your food and drinks. It’s a small and cozy place, but it is also kid friendly. They even have a bookshelf with books and games for you to enjoy while you are there. My kids love the selection of kids books that they have. I highly recommend giving this place a try! You won’t be disappointed!

If you’re looking for a cute little spot with a super friendly atmosphere and yummy treats, then this is the spot! I just cannot say enough good things about this place. We actually found this place through Unilocal(shocking!) when we were looking for breakfast one Saturday morning. We tried two big chain restaurants right up the street that were just beyond packed. So, to Unilocal we went and found that Sunrise Café was right around the corner. It is nestled in a small shopping center next to a liquor store and a doughnut shop off Mason. You’d probably miss it if you weren’t looking for it. There are two tables out front and the inside is just adorable. Very colorful and lots of fun decorations. Whoever did their interior design did a fabulous job. It’s very café-esque. The service here is just fantastic. I have not met a single person who didn’t seem thrilled to see us! They are so welcoming and friendly. There’s one gentleman, if I had to guess, he is the owner, and he is always making jokes with everyone and it feels like Cheers, you know, where everybody knows your name? This has now become our go-to spot for breakfast on beautiful Saturday mornings. And I, the creature of habit that I am, always get the same thing: JJ’s Burrito with bacon, and a Texas Pecan coffee! This huge burrito is stuffed with eggs, cheese, potatoes, and your choice of meat(bacon!!!). Then, they put the whole burrito on that grill machine(for like hot sandwiches/paninis) and grill the burrito. It’s just delicious! They serve it with a side of salsa and a couple of orange slices. I always think about getting a second one, because it’s just so good and I’m greedy, but one really is plenty! One day, we’ll hopefully make it out there for lunch, as I am sure it’s just as yummy!

I just got back from eating a delicious filling lunch! I ordered the Caprese panini, I should have taken a picture but by the time the thought crossed my mind it was gone! The service was very great and the workers are warm and welcoming! I enjoyed my first time there! I’m definitely returning in the future.

My first experience at Sunrise yesterday. Living in Sugar Land it is not a place I would normally go. Met a colleague of mine there for a meeting. I have to say, I really felt comfortable. That is how I would describe this place. Relax, have lunch and enjoy great service. Everyone enjoyed the meal and the service. If you live in this area of Houston, you have to put the place on your list.

You wont be treated with more respect and kindness anywhere else. It’s nice to know that there are hardworking Christians running a family business so close to home! Rock on Habibi!

My new favorite place to eat especially if your wanting a great atmosphere. Excellent food and customer service, I would highly recommend this place to anyone. The owner is great, the reviews don’t lie when they say he treats everyone like an old friend. When we arrived, all of the tables had been seated, so we decided to get food Togo. The waitress and owner took it upon themselves to bring us chairs so that we could sit while while we waited for your food to cook. Awesome service here! Also, now after devouring the food, I can gladly say they deserve all five stars whole heartedly.

This place is a great neighborhood spot! The owners are the nicest people. I have been a few times, and will definitely be back. So far I have tried the classic breakfast plate, a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel, and the grilled cheese. They were basic, but basic done well!

Just had lunch here for the first time today & had their special: Greek salad, cold pearl couscous salad, & their famous chicken salad. It was so delicious! I make a mean chicken salad, but this was beyond yummy! The owners were extremely nice. The gentleman actually walked from across the restaurant to see us out & hold the door for us & sincerely thanked us for coming. I will definitely be back!

Love the fresh coffee and breakfast here. The owner is very friendly and you can say he takes great pride in serving guests. Defy would suggest the Audrey Hepburn, The Leaning Tower of Omelette. Also pretty good ambience for a small place.

The coffee and food are good. If you have a higher power this is the place for you. My heathen self found the bible study at the next table and bible verses scattered around the décor a little off putting but the staff was nice and ambiance was low key.

A nice little place! I ordered the Café Classic with eggs over medium and white toast; my eggs came over easy and the toast was just barely toasted, basically still just bread. However, the service is GREAT; the employees are very kind, helpful, and friendly – everything I look for in wait staff. Nitty(the owner) is such a wonderful guy; I’m visiting from Pittsburgh for the week and he made me feel so welcome and right at home. I’ll definitely be back again!

Sat in front of the restaurant for about 30 minutes not sure if they just not paying attention or if they are short staffed. But very pleasant, laid back and quiet atmosphere. After they took my order their service really excelled. Food was brought out in good time. Tried a new type of breakfast«The leaning tower of Omelet» was really well prepared the ham is sauteed which makes this a really good tasting plate. The coffee is good so full of flavor had the house coffee. Will be back to try other items. Keep up the consistency

I came across this place while Unilocaling in search of a nice quiet café to work and have something to munch on. I decided to check this place out one morning. It was about 6 – 8 people inside having breakfast, coffee and chatting. I was immediately greeted by the owner. I told him it was my first time there and he recommended what was good to order. I went for the butter croissant with eggs, turkey sausage and pepper jack cheese. It was YUMMY!!! I also ordered the Italian Macchiato thinking it was going to be a regular cup of coffee like at Starbucks but nope, it was a cute little tea cup with a shot of espresso and a teaspoon of milk with some raw sugar on top. He called me to the bar and fixed himself a cup of the same kind, we toasted and sipped before going to my seat. It was a bit strong so I had him add some cinnamon… & more raw sugar. I clearly had no idea what kind of coffee I ordered LOL He must could tell I didn’t like it so about 15min later he brought me a cup of something sweeter, with less espresso and sooooo yummy. He named off 3 other coffee flavors he carried but I can’t remember — they all sounds yum. Other customers came in and out throughout my time there. It was a very nice experience, soothing music and the staff were super nice! Its also kid friendly. It definitely gives you that«at Grandma’s house» kind of feel where you don’t want to leave. You will feel warm and comforted your entire time there as they truly cater to you and treat you like they’ve known you for years. I can’t wait to return!

Thought I wrote a review before, but since Unilocal asked… :) I just left Sunrise for the nth time. This time I had one of my repeat orders, the Sunrise breakfast sandwich. You pick your bread, meat, and cheese. I had croissant, veggie sausage, muenster cheese. I also tried a chai latte w/soy for the first time. I must say, the sandwich/tea combination was an excellent choice! I will do it again. I may even go just for the Chai next time… way better than Starbucks! Even the perfect temp and as always served w/a smile and good morning convo! Oh and don’t forget to check in for 15% off ;)!

Randomly found this place on Saturday and I was so pleased with the service here. Like most reviewers have said, sunrise is a mom and pop shop and the owners are such lovely people. I’m not a morning or even early afternoon person so I’m usually grumpy and curt in the morning but I left feeling so happy. Nitty is extremely welcoming and he even generously applied the Unilocal discount to my entire order instead of just one entrée. Food here is simple. Don’t expect to find an eggs benedict or your usual brunch fare here but it’s not a big deal. Ordered a fruit parfait, a bagel and a coffee and I was pleased with the simplicity of it. The waitress taking the order was new but she was also very friendly.

One of the few places where you are treated very nice by the owner. This is the reason for 5 stars… I love the breakfast! another reason for 5 stars…(very few places in Fairfield) My favorite is JJ’s Burrito… Keep in mind this is a very laid back Mom and Pop Café. Its best to hang out a bit, maybe bring a laptop and do some work perhaps. Never overcrowded like starbucks…

MR says … it’s over hype MRS says … as much as we’d like to rate Sunrise Café a perfect 5-Stars … I am being generous to give 4-Stars for the following reasons: — The BLT sandwich is loaded with lots of bacon. The bacon strips are very thin and crispy. Check out the picture we uploaded. I love love bacon and you had me at BLT. — The service is superb. Friendly, hospitable and attentive. Great family owned business. I love fresh squeezed orange juice and unfortunately, Sunrise Café only makes fresh coffee. Would love to see this place thrive. I think a simple juicer will makes a difference. I would love to come and eat here again but I don’t like the Minute Maid OJ in the plastic container.

Very nice little café right here in Cypress. Closes a bit early(3 pm) so it’s taken me a while to make it but glad I did. Had a delicious Carmel macchiato and a breakfast burrito with veggie sausage. Unfortunately the sausage was the only veggie on the burrito but it was good otherwise. Despite being in a shopping center it is a nice homey atmosphere with lots of local art on the walls which is all for sale. Very nice and personable owner who I had the pleasure of conversing with for a while. Local is always best. Check it out!

If I lived closer to Cypress this would definitely be my spot for lunch, breakfast or to zone out with a cup of coffee while reading a book. Quiet, cozy, and a really good panini! I do have to say though that apparently it was a slow day according to the owners, so I lucked out and didn’t have to wait for a table or get my items to-go. I got the Italian panini — I wasn’t going to get the italian, but the pesto sold me. They do serve breakfast all day, so if something looks good on the breakfast menu, don’t assume you can’t get it(like the Audrey Hepburn for instance). The atmosphere reminds me of some of my favorite college hang-outs — you know, those shops that have typical restaurant seatings, but couches or seating on the side where you can«hide» with a book. It also wasn’t loud inside. Nobody trying to force you to listen to their music or conversation. I think I loved that the most.
