Waitress burned a child walking across because she didn’t see him while holding a large bowl of HOT soup in noodles. The extremely hot soup drenched his whole body while he screaming of pain… I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he had some serious burns on his back. Normally you would think a restaurant would call an ambulance right away just as a precaution… I was wrong. All they did was proceed to escort him into the back and put some unknown looking cream on his body, gave the boy a toy, and sent the family off with a box of to-go food. Even regardless of the incident, the food was pretty poor. We were served in Styrofoam cups(yes, we had children in our party. but still), the naengmyun tasted like jolly ranchers, and the seafood noodles was absolutely FILLED with MSG. The noodles were severely overcooked like it’s been sitting for 10 minutes and the order practically came out one by one with 5 – 10 minutes between each dish.(For example, while the seafood noodles came out relatively quick, the kids had nothing to eat until everyone else was finished). Service was poor even with the ringing system. Pressed several times with no response. Absolutely one of the worst experiences ever.

This is a classic case of why you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. I found I really like it. On a day when all the power was out in Cerritos, La Palma, Artesia, and parts of Cypress, we were looking for an alternative. I had bookmarked Mom’s a long time ago, and decided it was time to try. We got the Chung-Pa(mongolian?) noodle with pork, the cold buckwheat noodle w spice on the side(on da side?), and a order of the steamed dumpling(these were huge and could have been a meal by themselves). Overall, it was an excellent meal, though we really should have gotten the cold noodles with the hot sauce in in order to make them so they separate better. Despite the fact that, when you peek in, it looks like it may be a buffet, it is not. I does, however, have very good food for reasonable prices. I also like the«ding dong» button, but that is because I am a kid that never grew up. I will, most certainly, be back. Kamsahamnida…

Mom’s Hand Made Noodles have the best Korean & Chinese fusion dishes in the area. It tastes like E-Teriyaki in Fullerton, but E-Teriyaki in fullerton has now changed owners. I replaced E-teriyaki with Mom’s Hand Made Noodles on my list. The food here is really delicious. There are a lot of items on the menu. And the service is really good. One of my favorite dishes is the spicy seafood soup with noodles called«Champong.» The broth is really spicy and not oily like some places. I also like the soup because it tastes like seafood and not pork soup. The noodles here are cooked very well, and tastes very fresh. Most places serve noodles that are cooked improperly. But Mom’s Hand Made Noodles are fresh and have good texture. I recommend ordering dishes with noodles, fried chicken, & soju. The soju was only $ 2.99 on sale!!! Cleanliness= B+ Service= B+ Food= B+

I raaarely eat Korean food outside of my own home. But if it’s Mom’s Hand Made Noodle, I don’t even mind. Their noodles are amazing. Delicious and chewy, Moms’s noodles has the perfect texture. I’ve loved everything I have tried so far: 1. Tangsuyuk(sweet and sour pork or beef) — My favorite dish at any Korean/Chinese restaurant. They do a great version here. You can get pork or beef but I highly recommend the pork. 2. Yangyum chicken(Fried marinated chicken) — Slightly spicy and super flavorful. Has a great crunch. 3. Jjajangmyun(black bean noodles) — Love it. This is the best jjajangmyun I have ever had. Really. 4. Jjambbong(spicy seafood noodle soup) — Uses the same delicious noodles and is FILLED with seafood. There’s a great variety, and unlike Mandurang(in Buena Park), has much more than just onion and cabbage. 5. Kalgooksoo(Knife cut noodles) — A simple and unassuming noodles in broth dish. The broth is flavorful but still mild. Not at all spicy, probably good for kids. I’m not a fan of this in general, but my mom loves it. Service is good, prices are good, and the food is awesome! :)

Pros: The price of the food and of course the taste of the food. Service here is awesome too! Cons: The side dishes are weak, only 4 compared to other Korean restaurants… they told me that the side dishes vary on what you order and I thought that was ridiculous. Other than this I have no complaints Overall, this restaurant is pretty good.

This place rocks! I live close by and this place will be my «to-go» place whenever i have nothing to eat at home. Their noodles are really good and cannot smell or taste any flour – which is awesome! My recommendation is spicy seafood noodles and all of their fried-rice. Also their Mongolian noodle is very rich in flavor and use fresh ingredients. Waitresses are nice and cool. When i first visited, i expected B grade restaurant, but it’s cleaner than i thought. Tips: 10 dollar is their minimum amount for credit card use. They always close on Wednesdays.

From the outside and location one might pass it on by. Learned about Mom’s from Unilocal and have been there just a couple of times. Had the black bean noodles and the spicy seafood soup and was not disappointed at all. Very quick, fresh and the price is right at Mom’s! Wish the noodles were a bit more al dente, as they tend to be a touch mushy at times but overall the flavors are there to go back. Kid friendly as well. They also cater to to-go orders so if you have no time it’s a great place to pick stuff up from.

Le BF and I stopped by Mom’s for takeout this past Saturday for dinner and it was REALLY good. I’m used to takeout being at a lower standard in comparison to dining in, but the entrees we ordered were made to order and everything looked and tasted as if we had eaten in the restaurant. We split three entrees and had more than enough to spare — especially since they packed us all the banchan as well. (1) Mongolian Noodles with Beef: So obviously this dish doesn’t compare to getting Mongolian stir-fry at an actual Mongolian restaurant… but the noodles were SO good. They were soft, flavorful, and the dish wasn’t lacking in meat or veggies. There could have been more sauce IMHO, but this is one I would order over and over again.(And most likely will since I plan on coming back!) (2) Noodles + Black Bean Sauce: I have gotten this dish at several places and so far this is my favorite one! Another Unilocaler mentioned that this wasn’t too salty and that was a correct assessment. Sometimes people use salt as a substitution for real flavor and it becomes overwhelming. Not so at Mom’s! (3) Steamed Dumplings: As everyone else says — HUGE. I think everyone’s fascination with the dumplings mostly have to do with the size and how much you get for your money. They’re tasty, but not the best dumplings I have had, and I think the size is actually a little overwhelming. Because they are so stuffed they break apart really easily and cannot be eaten traditionally. It’s a little weird. My Sparknotes Version: * Portions are HUGE. Consider sharing entrees to try more dishes! * Don’t fill yourself up on banchan before eating. Your stomach will want more of the actual meal. –___– * If you are into dumplings, get these at least once! Their size alone makes them a novelty. It’s kind of amusing.

Anyong haseyo, Mom’s! Mom’s Hand Made Noodles occupies the former location of my dearly beloved King Genghis Khan Mongolian BBQ, which later became the less than stellar Grace Garden Buffet. I visit my dad’s grave at Forest Lawn once a week, with Mom’s each time giving me a «come hither & try me» each time I pass by. Sounds dirty, huh? ;P There is a to-go section in the front & ample sit-down dining all around, w/semi-private areas for birthdays, reunions & the occasional bar mitzvah. 2TV’s in the main dining area w/Korean TV. Prices are very reasonable & the portions are excellent! Here’s the rundown of tonight’s menu– Mongolian beef noodles — Very tasty! There is the option of beef or pork. You can taste the difference in quality w/handmade noodles. They’re so tender & flavorful. The portion was big & at the low price of $ 7.99, it’s a must get. Spicy stir-fried squid w/rice — Mm, mm, good! Rice was moist & tender, and the squid was cooked to just the right chewiness. The spiciness from this dish & the banchan had my shiny dome sweating, w/me having to do a pat down from time to time. I demolished this dish. $ 7.99 Wonton soup(Mandu guk) — A bit of a letdown. The broth lacked fatty richness. There were only 4 wontons, but they were HUGE! They were a meal unto themselves. It’s too bad the broth was too watery, though. Not bad, but lacking. $ 6.99 Service was good for us. There is a buzzer by the side of the table when we want the attention of staff. Didn’t have to wait too long for our needs to be met. I was hoping we’d have a complimentary sweet rice dessert like some other Korean places, but alas, my hopes were disappointed. Here’s hoping the staff reads this & makes it happen ;) I definitely want to come back & try their other offerings on the menu. Like other Korean restaurants, they have a «gringo menu» & a Korean menu. Puzzles me, to be sure. Even the banchan is different for Koreans & non-Koreans, from what I saw. I say, let it be, let it be… let it be, let it be… whisper words of wisdom… let it be. Highly recommend! NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

The noodles are outstanding. Service is okay and not okay. The food is very good. This is a Korean owned Korean /Chinese restaurant. It looks like they cater to mostly Korean customers. The main menu is in English & Korean with pictures(which helps). But they have another menu that’s just in Korean. To me it’s just bad business sense. If you don’t want me to know the other things you’re selling its your loss. And I happen to like Korean food, again your loss. Enough of my rant back to food. Here’s the rundown: Jjam-Bbong(Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup) — The soup was good & spicy. The seafood(octopus, shrimp &1 mussel) was cooked perfectly, but the noodles are the star here. They are just so good, I don’t need the seafood, just the broth, some vegetables and leave me alone. Chung Pa Noodles(Mongolian Noodles Beef or Pork) — we got the pork. I can eat this all day. Again the noodles are so good, Even though the pork was good, the onions, green onions and shredded vegetables were also good. Just the mongolian sauce with the noodles was probably good enough. There really is a big difference between a freshly made noodle to a dry noodle. One bite is all it takes to realize the difference. Jja Jang Myun(Noodles with Black Bean Sauce) — Typically when I see black bean sauce on a menu, it registers in my head as salty(I like salty). When I saw the menu, I was going to order this dish. As it turned out, when we asked the waitress for some recommendations(which we got), she also volunteered to bring a small bowl of Jja Jang Myun for my toddler son for free. I was worried it might be too salty for him, but the lady said it wasn’t salty, but a little sweet. Okay. Of course I had to taste it to make sure, and that is the best dish of them all. The noodles were good, but so was the black bean sauce. I don’t think there was any meat in this dish(I could be wrong), but it was perfect. Not overly sweet, just right. If you’re coming here, try this dish. Wang Man Du(steamed dumplings) — The dumplings are huge and very delicious. They give you a small dipping sauce. Ask for extra, because you’re going to need it. The Banh chan(4 items) regular kimchee, radish kimchee, sweet potato & yellow radish. The sweet potato was very good. In fact, we ran out of dumpling sauce(they didn’t give enough & wasn’t refilling the sauce) so I dipped the dumplings in the sweet potato sauce, that was goooood. The service: The good: we told them it was our first time and they immediately offered some recommendations. And as I’ve mention, they got my son a bowl of noodles for himself(that was very cool). The bad: they did not refill our water. The soup was spicy, we needed water. The empty small empty glasses were at the edge of the table. Several pass by and a wave did not do the trick. I had to get a pitcher of water myself. The other thing was, they offered us water, they offered everyone else cold barley tea. What’s up with that? I love barley tea, lol The food here is 5 Stars. The service, unless you’re Korean is just okay, maybe a little less than okay. I’ll definitely be back(as take out only)

First time here and YES… I’m giving them 5 stars! They easily meet all criteria for a 5 star review. Great food! Banchan is very good, entrees are DEElicious, Staff is fast and courteous, and this place is very EZ on the wallet! $ 2.99 for a bottle of soju? NICE! I have absolutely zero complaints or criticisms… just very impressed. I can tell other people feel the same because even though this place is huge you can tell it remains busy. The noodles really do make a big difference in the dishes. Try it… you’ll like it!

I ordered the black bean noodle(jajang myun) and my sister ended up ordering the spicy seafood noodle soup. My dish was burnt in taste and had no flavor and my sister’s dish as well. She asked for really really spicy and it was not spicy at all! My husband ended up having their dumpling soup and he said it was not very good. Overall, out of three dishes we had that day, none came out good. Disappointing.

I came here for the first time with the family, so we got to order couple noodle soups. We had the Jjamb Bbong Seafood Noodle Soup(the fiery red looking soup), Mandu Suk(dumpling soup), and Kal Guk Suk(hand cut noodles). The Jjamb Bbong soup was really flavorful from all the seafood ingredients and it’s not as spicy as it appears to be. The Mandu Suk came with 4 over-sized dumplings, topped with shredded beef and garnished with strips of seaweed. The soup was obviously lighter than Jjamb Bbong but still very flavorful. Meanwhile the beef Kal Guk Suk, came with one over-sized dumpling and a bowl full of chewy hand-cut noodles. It probably yielded the lightest broth out of all the ones we tried. But overall, the noodle soups were hot and the noodles were not overcooked. The portion was huge as well. It’s good enough to be shared among two people. Also, while they falsely advertise the price of their soju($ 1.99), the real price is still $ 2.99! Making it the cheapest place for soju!

I was looking for a place with soup since I was getting over a cold and stumbled upon this. The place was pretty empty, though it was a Friday afternoon. I got the dumping soup($ 6.99) which came with four large dumplings. Someone mentioned that the portions of whatever they got were huge, but I would not call my soup huge. It was large, but I could have eaten it all myself. It came with four large dumplings, which were okay, but I really liked the broth. They also had a few banchan dishes, including fishcake and kimchee. Service was good. I hope they end up doing better than all the previous restaurants that have gone out of business at this location!

I really want this place to last. I ordered the Mongolian Noodles and the Dumpling Soup. Both were delicious. The dumpling were HUGE and super tasty, and the soup actually had some beef in it as well. The Mongolian Noodles were also really yummy, but it was sadly mostly cabbage and onions, not noodles. I told the manager that I loved the food and that I still want to come back, but there needs to be more noodles in a NOODLE dish in a NOODLE house. It’s not a cabbage vegetable dish(although again, it was still pretty scrumptious). My other complaint is that, as a non-Korean, I don’t feel like I got the service that I could have gotten if I spoke Korean or if I came with a Korean friend. The waitress barely spoke a word to me(although I’m pretty sure she knows English cuz she seemed young), didn’t offer me water or tea(like the other Korean customers got), and when I asked for the bill, she didn’t acknowledge me(although she brought it over a few minutes later). I swear, I don’t ask for much and I’m a really polite customer, but the waitress sucked. Seriously though, aside from the service, the food was awesome. I’m coming back, but hopefully they’ll get some friendlier staff and more noodles.

This place is very Korean, but they always make me feel welcome and not like a ‘white outsider.’ The noodles are chewy and delicious! I love the spicy noodle seafood soup #7 full of mussels and shrimp. The dumplings are large and stuffed with tender ground pork that pretty much melt in your mouth. I’m always amazed that we can order so much food, the portions are large enough for sharing or taking lots home, and it’s so affordable. They also start each meal with banchan(small dishes of appetizer-like food served along with Korean meals — usually includes kimchi). It is customary for Koreans to slurp noodles very loudly, so be prepared! I didn’t know this when I first started eating at noodle houses. One time I was very loudly saying«UGH» «I don’t know if I can deal with this!» because I thought a man sitting at the table across from me was being rude. Turns out it was me who was being rude and just didn’t understand foreign culture.

Very nice place, and the food is seriously good with generous portions. The quality is very noticeable with every bite. I had the spicy soup and it was a huge bowl of goodness. You get free appetizers to start, and they actually refilled them after we finished the first round. Went with my family and tasted all their dishes, they were delicious, so you cant go wrong with any order i’m assuming. Their prices are excellent, they don’t match the quality i believe. Five of us ate and needed take out boxes… total… $ 37 bucks. There has been a few fail businesses there, but I believe this one is gonna stay. Food is good, prices are great, and service was excellent.

We come in Sat dinner time. The interior is huge. at first we found the air was too cold. But noted they are serving hot noodles actually that’s a nice temperature setting. Four appetizers came first(with good quantity) before order taken. We’ve ordered #2, hand cut flour cake soup. #4 Sweet potato noodles and Beef with Rice #7 Spicy seafood noodle soup. All the orders arrived table in 10 minutes. Tasted Korean in good quantity. Total is $ 27 for family of 4, very affordable price. I give it a thumbs up.
