In our never ending quest to find an ideal park for my three-year old daughter, we came upon Cedar Glen after Willow Park was too unappealing for us. The 2.5 acre park is adjacent to a Boys and Girls Club and the main parking lot is accessible from Myra Ave. However, I noticed you can access the park from adjoining neighborhood cul-de-sacs. There is a nice flat grass field which is perfect for football. The play structure is in need of an update but it’s still decent. One aspect of the park that I appreciated and something I don’t see often in the Cypress parks is the fact that there is sand, not bark, within the play structure. I also noticed a large rope obstacle course type structure as well which is more suitable for older children. There are several park benches but no BBQ grills. The benches do not have an awning or any shade other than a deciduous tree. The full court basketball court seems to be in good condition. The one drawback from our time here is the reality that there is no bathroom for parkgoers here. So be prepared.
