How is there not a review for this place yet?! I mean, Rohs has been open since the late 1800s for various theatrical productions, including films starting in the 1930’s. It’s a historic staple of Cynthiana. After they closed last year because they could not afford a digital projector to keep showing movies, they received a generous donation from the creator of the ‘Walking Dead’ to purchase a digital projector and keep the films going. How awesome is that? I came here a few nights ago for a music performance and was delighted with both the performance and the venue. The main auditorium(it’s a one screen kind of theater) is on the first level; however, I learned the original theater was upstairs. Now it’s some kind of open space that can be used for events and smaller shows. Yes, there is a small concession stand and a couple [not very impressive] bathrooms available too. Rohs definitely has some age and character… and ghosts??? Rumored to be haunted, the place also offers ‘ghost walks’ in the fall in addition to weekend movie screenings and random performances during the week(comedy, music, stage productions, etc). I’m excited this theater is up and alive again!
