Sometimes I put off writing a review for a place I love because I just don’t know how to sum up how awesome the place is. Down to Earth is one of those places — too awesome to put into words, really. But, I’ll try. [Plus, this is my 800th review and such a favorite place of mine deserves a milestone review.] Down to Earth is more than just a store. It speaks to my heart, and countless others’. The creative space is inspiring — I feel uplifted every time I walk in. Love, love, love. Yes, they sell a small selection of locally-created products(soaps, jams, honey, jewelry, knitted treasures), art(photographs, paintings, metal creations, books by local authors), and natural things for your home(essential oils, creams, herbs, laundry detergent, etc)… but they’re also a huge supporter of the local community with class offerings and events from yoga to book-signings to hip-hop dance to guitar lessons to writing workshops and more! The ladies that run this store have also helped put together some city-wide events including ARToberfest. They are sweet, creative, and smart people with a knack for learning what this town needs and doing what they can to make it happen. Cynthiana soooo needed a place like Down to Earth. I was ecstatic when they opened months ago and have loved watching this store bloom. Do stop in if you haven’t already. You won’t regret it. If anything, just walk in for a soothing lavender scent in the air. =)

Down to Earth is a great new shop in downtown Cynthiana. I had a book signing for my new novel there. The owners are very supportive of local authors. They carry locally made products including soaps, essential oils and herbs. They have a growing selection of books and other merchandise. They have guitar lessons and yoga classes. I think it’s a great start to revitalizing downtown Cynthiana — worth a look if you are in the area.
