I love the coffee here, and although we drink Philz coffee all the time at work, it tastes much better when freshly made by a Philz barista. My go-to’s are: Anesthesia to the Upside and Tesora(duh). We drink Philtered Soul all the time at work, and it’s a sweet, hazelnutty coffee. You’d like it if you’re into hazelnut. :) It’s always busy here when I go, but the line goes fast! It’s fairly loud in here too so get your earplugs/soundproof headphones if you’re trying to read/study!

I think I may have gotten my dad and best friend addicted to Philz. This place kicks Starbucks behind! I always order the famous mint mojito with no regrets. My best friend ordered a soul train — which was recommended by Ciara. And because it was her first time, she got her drink for FREE!(Make sure you let the barista know that it’s your first time there). My dad ordered a super caffeinated drink to keep him awake for his long drive home — resulting in him being awake a lot longer than he anticipated. The music in here is bumping. I just wish they had more seating.

A great Philz location, however, it doesn’t seem to be the quietest. BUT, it’s extremely cozy and intimate here. I love this layout the most next to Palo Alto’s. Outside seating is comfortable. They have a secluded area in the back and even more secluded outside seating in the back.

Hello favorite bay area coffee shop. I no longer feel the need to be basic at starbucks anymore. I just wish this philz had more and bigger tables so I can sit here and study while inhaling up all the mint mojitos I can. What’s awesome about philz is that you can always get your drink remade if you’re not pleased with it. A+ for mint mojitos and service!!!

The coffee here was great, same as any other Philz. The baristas are friendly despite the busyness and the long lines. As a student, I probably would never come here again. The music is way too loud and typically that’s fine but the upbeat music coupled with overly loud volume were quite distracting.(The actual music is pretty terrible as well.) Despite asking for the music to be turned down, the music was still overwhelming. Even to come here to chat with a friend over coffee would be difficult as the music is so distracting. As a café, the coffee and baristas are great. As a place to socialize or study, it is not an environment that is conducive for productivity. Parking is also ridiculously difficult to find.

Frequented this location when I started my 7:30 am classes at De Anza. Would come here around 7am and the baristas are so friendly and full of energy! Loved this location and they always made my day! My top choices are: 1. Mint iced coffee(if you like mint, flavorful and creamy) 2. Ecstatic iced coffee(when you want to omit the mint) 3. Mocha Tesora(for a hot drink with a bold flavor and hint of chocolate) My favorite part is how they always ask us to try our drinks before leaving to make adjustments! Such an awesome courtesy! I recommend going to this location! :)

Philz can get super busy, but I appreciate how this location works a bit faster than the downtown San Jose one. They also have their coffee of the month bags for sale, which I always pick up 2 – 3 for gifts and myself :) Just an FYI, Mint Mojito has heavy cream in it and if you’re like me, you don’t want to die of a heart attack at the age of 50, so ask for half sweet with soy milk or 2% max. Just extended your life a few years, you owe me! :p

It amazes me how this place, regardless of which location you go, has the same culture and hospitality. My favorite coffee shop in the Bay Area! Top drinks to get: 1: ecstatic. This is a cold drink. So good it will be gone before you realize it. 2: mint mojito: cold drink, their signature. 3: philz fresh chai: deep flavor.

Update in case there are new-to-Philz coffee drinkers reading this. To keep the line moving, here’s the way it works! You wait in line. Yes, there will almost always be a line. Don’t let it discourage you. When one of the baristas is free, they call you over and you place your order with them. You then wander off to pay the cashier(you just tell the cashier what you ordered). Then you wait around until your barista finishes making your coffee. You taste it when they hand it to you. If it’s not the way you want it, speak up. If it is, head on out! It’s a bit different than the«order at the register» model that Starbucks and Peet’s has, so if everyone knows ahead of time it can only make the line smoother! Enjoy their coffee! The flavor is exceptional!

I would not consider myself a «real» coffee drinker since I always opt for the sweetened lattes/drinks haha. My friends have been raving about Philz for years now but I never got a chance to try it. Since I was in an area which had a Philz location, I decided to finally try it out! I like their concept of ordering from a specific barista, paying at the cash station, then returning to your barista to pick up your order. It makes the process seem more smooth and efficient in my opinion. They also ask you to taste test your drink in case you want them to to fix your drink or even make your entire drink over! Talk about caring for your customers! :) Many have suggested I try the mint mojito iced coffee and that is exactly what I got. As I have said before, I am not a huge coffee drinker but I enjoyed the minty coffee taste I got. It was made just perfect without having to make any adjustments. Maybe if I feel adventurous one of these days, I will try one of their real coffee drinks on their menu, but for now I will stick to their wonderful mint mojito iced coffee because I know it could never go wrong on me.

I always go to Philz Coffee during my visits to the bay area. I like the good coffee and different concoctions especially the addition of mints to some drinks. I also like how they can customize each coffee to your specific taste which makes it a unique coffee shop. My personal recommendation is Aromatic Arabic. I haven’t tried the Mint Mojito Iced Coffee which most reviewers are raving about. I guess I have to try it on my next visit. So, even after all this I don’t get the huge line EVERYTIME I go here! Sometimes I don’t have time to wait that long. May be they should increase the number of baristas or do something about it! One of my family trips I have seen a line even at 11am on a weekday. don’t people have to go to work?

There was a time when I would drink instant coffee or whatever type of brewed coffee my mom’s coffee pot makes thinking that was what coffee was all about. After my first Philz experience I realized coffee could be so much more. Granted you pay the price for that«so much more», but this beverage is worth it. Philz makes a rich, decadent, flavorful brew. Each drink can be completely customized to your preferences in terms of creamy/sweet. The first drink I tried was the mint mojito — which I highly recommend. This concoction is so deliciously minty and creamy(I think they use half-and-half, I have never asked what their default milk is and I don’t recommend you do so either — better to enjoy the saturated fat in ignorance). Another good option is the Tantalizing Turkish or the Philharmonic. All the beverages I like come with mint leaves, so clearly I’m a fan. I recommend creamy with light sweet, but that’s my preference!

I love Philz! I’ve gotten the Mint Mojito every other time I came here, but this time, I got the Ecstatic. Both are so amazing, and I swear if I lived near one, I would go so broke coming here every day, probably multiple times a day. The wait can be long sometimes, so don’t always expect it to be a quick coffee run. But it’s really worth it! They make the drinks right there and it’s got such a unique flavor I really haven’t experienced anywhere else.

I LOVE Philz Coffee, and it’s not even because of the coffee, it’s because of the hot chocolate! I’m not a coffee drinker, so I haven’t tried the coffee here, although given the high ratings I probably will give it a try in the near future. But the hot chocolate here is the best I’ve ever had. It’s not overwhelmingly sweet(and the sugar level can be adjusted) and the flavor is very rich and creamy without being heavy in texture. It’s just the most perfectly balanced drink, and I will most certainly be coming back for more! SOSOGOOD – I highly recommend!

Philz coffee, how I love you! You have truly perfected the mint mojito iced coffee with an incredible balance of refreshing mint, creaminess, and a hint of sweetness. I don’t know how you do it but don’t change a thing!

Great service, and friendly Staff. I would most definitely be coming back the next time I am in San Fransisco. I wish we have something trendy and fun like that in Texas or anywhere in the South! We found you on Unilocal and I am really thankful for that. Keep up the fantastic service and the beautiful coffee smell!

My friend took me here once to try the iced Mint Mojito and I’ve been back here too many times since! I’ve also tried the Ginger Snap and Mocha Tesora. You can ask for different levels of sweet(sugar) and creamy(cream)! They also have soy milk! If you’re looking for a classic– definitely try the Mint Mojito! If you want something on the sweeter side– Mocha Tesora! It’s rich and chocolate-y(make sure to mix the bottom, the chocolate settles). Ginger Snap is also another classic one if you like ginger more than mint. Usually, you go up to the counter and order what you want. They you go to the register, tell them what you ordered, and pay there. After, you just wait for whoever is making your coffee to call out your order! They have amazing service! They usually ask you to try your coffee first to see if you like it. And if you don’t, they’ll remake it for you.

Mint Mojito Iced Coffee. I’ve had this bookmarked for a while and I wanted to go to the one in San Jose but the one in Cupertino wouldn’t be half bad, now would it? It was on our way since we were coming from Santa Cruz and going to San Fran using the 17−85−280. Plus I would finally make a stop in Cupertino! This is located a mile East of the 85 on the Stevens Creek exit. It’s in a shopping plaza but no facing the street so you have to go around to find the place. When going in, you could see a line of 8 people and a good amount of workers(I think I saw 5?) either at the register or making drinks. You went in the line, told the person who made the drinks what you wanted, and then you paid at the cashier. The mint mojito iced coffee. The mint was definitely strong, and you definitely do not see this as coffee. It’s weird because I don’t think I can get this elsewhere(other than other Philz) and this isn’t that bad. The mint is strong and it’s really creamy/foamy. However, I don’t think it’s worth the $ 4/$ 5 price that it is to get it :( Maybe $ 3 though :-/ I will say that I’ve had it though!

Heard about this place for a while and finally got to try it. There was a long line in the morning but I am more than willing to sacrifice for good coffee. The service is friendly and the person taking your order is the one who makes your coffee. The recommended drink from several people was the iced creamy mojito coffee therefore, that’s what I ordered. You have the option to choose, creamy, medium or light cream. The coffee is a blend between all their coffees with crushed fresh mint and topped off with fresh mint. The presentation was great and the taste was even better! They asked me to try it to see if I was satisfied. I asked them if I wasn’t satisfied, what would they do? They answered, «we would remake it for you.» Amazing customer service. Great first experience! I came back the second day and the barista saw me and asked«iced creamy mojito coffee?» I was totally impressed that this gal remembered my drink from the previous day since she wasn’t even the one who served me, although I recall her working next to the girl who served me. It was another mojito coffee perfected. If you are coffee connoisseur or coffee snob, this place is for you! Don’t forget to take a favorite blend home with you as well! Enjoy!

Whenever I go to Philz Coffee, I always get the Mint Mojito. It’s currently my first and only drink I get in Philz Coffee. If you’re going to this Philz Coffee, parking will definitely be difficult for you to find just because the parking lot is so small and there’s so many shops around that it can’t accommodate all of its patrons. I also thought that this Philz Coffee was pretty small. There weren’t enough seats inside to handle the fast-paced environment. The couches were super comfy though and the bathrooms were very sanitary!
