Went here on a Sunday, 6÷5÷16, a party of four, spur of the moment type thing. «She who MUSTBE obeyed,» was born, raised in London, and I’ve been in quite a few pubs, myself now, from Kent, to Liverpool, so we’re both surprised and pleased, with the authentic, ambiance, and the food and beer choices. I had a bulldog sandwich, which was comprised of some very nice sausages, she had the steak and kidney pie, the others ordered a starter of hot, and a starter of cold Scotch eggs, followed by a Cornish pasty, and the Norfolk chicken and mushroom pie. The drought beers, were quite tasty too :). Place is off to itself, in an Asia shopping center, so make sure you drive around a bit, because it is there. We had a great time and will definitely return. I have to say, I’m more of a fan of the french fry, but these chips are really great. Glad they aren’t closer to us, as I could end up having to buy a whole new wardrobe. Prices are not cheap, but aren’t out of line, either, for what you get. Easy parking, would give this place 5 stars, but need to return, a few more times, and try some other dishes. Looks and smells like a real pub, so if you’re put off by that, well don’t go.

My best friend wanted go here for dinner. The reason why I give this place 1 star for the long wait for the food to come out. The food are not the best but the prices are expensive. They got full bar with limited drinks.

Yes yes. Yes yes yes. This is a pub. Not a bar, not a trendy restaurant that calls itself a pub, but a true pub in the traditional style. It’s quiet, comfortable, and the kind of place where friends and family can gather to relax and converse with food and drink.

Recently went back and had a burger with bacon. It wasn’t good at all. No flavor whatsoever. The last time the manager was rude to me. The bartender are really great.

Just like your british pubs back home. This is really a great place if you’re getting homesick! Fish n Chips is a must-have. I gave it 5 stars because it’s exactly what you’d expect. If you’re petty and worrying about a kids menu when you don’t have kids or a service where someone kisses your feet then don’t even bother reviewing any resturants.

Never had British food before. I liked the red velvet seating and wall designs! It’s pretty pricey, but food I can’t say if it’s even authentic. Cheapest I think is $ 9? The wellington are the most expensive I think… no idea what to order so regrettedly ordered bangers and mash($ 12.75)…sausage tasted like breakfast pork sausage and mashed potatoes were just ok. Should’ve gotten the fish sandwiche. Server was friendly and attentive. Located in the Asian plaza in cupertino near ranch 99. Seating next to bar is pretty small/cramped too. Wish there were more booth seating. For a sat night, our food came at a decent time. Since I had no idea what to order, I’d like to try again when there’s a chance. Not many choices for vegetarians too so beware.

We lived right next to this place and I wanted to try it for a long time… finally we got a chance to go in… and what do u know. it looks like one of those«British» pubs you see on British TV shows… the interiors are dim lit. velvet booths… The staff was friendly. we were promptly seated… we ordered the pub bread to start with. these are warm puffy rolls served with butter… delicious… I ordered the pesto pizza and the red ale… my wife got the veggie pastry… The small pizza was perfect size for one person. the waiter suggested that it is pretty small but I felt it was good enough for a person. I enjoyed every bite of the warm meting cheese infused with pesto sauce on a thin crust… My wife’s pastry was very tasty too. it is essentially potato and veggie filling inside a crunchy pastry crust… it was delicious. I would definitely go back to the place for drinks since they have 12 beers on tap and many more drinks. I like the Brit/Irish pub setups and this one made me like it more

The Duke is my home away from home. I’ve actually never eaten here, but it is an absolutely great place to meet up with friends and have a few drinks. It’s got enough eclectic furniture that there’s always a seat or two to be found. Plenty of space. What I like is that even as the neighborhood around it changes, the Duke stays the same year after year. It’s not trying to cater to new clientele or to become something that it’s not. In that way, it’s incredibly comforting and still feels like home.

Plus five stars! The minor slowness of the staff is made up for by their attentiveness, the quality of the food and the delicious dessert. And when I left my debit card there, they kept it safe for me until I came back the next day and got it. God save the Queen do I love this place!

This is a pretty nice Irish pub. It looks alright from the outside but when I step in I was pleasantly surprised. Love the cosy feeling! Ordered the light beer which is pretty good. My friend ordered the Murphy stout which was super bitter but also super smooth! Would come here again for drinks ! Not too crowded! Nice place.

Went here on a Tuesday late afternoon before my graduate classes got a three piece fish and chips which was just the right amount at 4:30 to share between me and my girl. Great selection of beers on tap, good service, perfect blend of homy, clean and classic environment. One of my favorite pubs so far in the Bay.

Great atmosphere and I’ve never had a bad meal at the Duke. I’ve had most of the selections on the menu, and can recommend them all. I like the prime rib and both the beef Wellington and salmon Wellington especially, Craig is a great bartender(they all are). It’s the sort of place where even the employees can be found hanging out and enjoying the atmosphere. They have a lot of regular customers. I know at least one person who pretty much gets all of his meals there. I wish they would occasionally change the beer selection, but they do have a good set of choices and most of the beers I would want to add would just detract from the authentic feel of an Irish/British pub. But maybe one rotating tap?

So, sometimes I just randomly crave beef wellington or a cornish pasty, and when I do, this is where I head. One major negative which isn’t their fault is they’re in the Cupertino Village plaza, so parking is always a mess. Service is good. I didn’t like the stout they had on tap, which was very meh. The food is basically what you’d expect of those dishes, but I haven’t found anywhere else nearby to get them, so I really hope this place sticks around! Tip — do get extra gravy with the pasty as it helps a lot with flavor, and helps soften the crust, which is more bread-y type than flaky.

For some reason, even though we just got back from the UK, my wife wanted to meet for lunch here. She ordered the bangers and mash. She said they were ok. I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was awful — the batter wasn’t tasty and it was fried way too much(we were literally the only people there, so it wasn’t like they were busy or anything). Neither the fish nor the chips were authentic at all. On that topic though, the rest of the restaurant definitely had an authentic British feel to it. The service was nice if not a bit strange(a man just showed up and placed silverware, etc. on the table without saying a single word). I might go back for a pint sometime, but it’s tough to give an enthusiastic thumbs up to the food. It simply wasn’t very good.

An English-style pub with a surprising lack of Scottish brews. My friend(who went to school in Edinburgh) and I shared some standard bar-comfort-food: Potato Skins and Chicken Tenders. Both were good. My pint of Fat Tire started tasting weird towards the end. My friend confirmed my finding. I made a remark to the bartender, but she kind of just shrugged off my observation, which kind of irked me.

Parking here is atrocious. It’s almost enough to not want me to come back. If I lived closer I might consider walking there. I liked the décor inside, it’s got a lot of character. We had no problem finding a nice cozy booth. We got the hot scotch eggs as an appetizer, they are HUGE! 2 eggs = 8 pieces, you should plan on splitting them with at least 4 people. I got the smaller prime rib with the yorkshire pudding. It was okay, but I’d probably try the beef wellington next time. My husband got the fish and chips and was pretty happy with it. We both got beers, but I was pretty disappointed with the beer menu. I thought they’d have a lot more on tap. Their site says 12, but they were out of a few. They don’t have a kid’s menu, but if you’ve got a picky eater in your party, maybe they would settle for the cheese pizza on the appetizer list. It’s actually pretty decent.

The fish and chips seemed well crafted; the batter was light and crispy, and the fish(cod) was succulent and flakey. It came with thick-cut steak fries as opposed to the classic french fries. I didn’t order it and don’t remember much of it. My salmon wellington was great. It had shrimp soufflé in it with a side of steamed veggies. The puff pastry was flaky and the salmon was moist. It didn’t hurt that the portion size was very generous too. They loved the scottish eggs, but I thought it was on the bland side(to which the response was: «flavourful english food is an oxymoron»). This was quite a while ago, but I remember liking my dinner a lot!
