OHSOTHAT’S WHATITLOOKSLIKEINSIDE! My daughter and I were in the shopping center where this store is located and decided that we would go in and snoop. We did not really need to purchase anything but was curious about what an Ingles had to offer. We were a bit taken aback about how clean, organized and well stocked this store appeared. It has a nice floral station with beautiful, colorful arrangements available for immediate purchase. We strolled on over to the deli which offered a variety of prepared dishes,(hot and cold). Although it was after 1pm, they appeared to be relatively fresh. We grabbed a couple of items and headed to check out but there was a short line and an unattended register. As we turned to enter the short line, a cashier approached and checked us out lickety split. Although I don’t have an Ingles in my area, I wouldn’t hesitate to visit one while on the road if they are as nice as this one.

This place is a dump. The carts belong in a junk yard. The belts for children are broken. My kid needs to be strapped in and I can’t count on any of these carts to hold him down. However all the cracked seats make me not want to out his tender bottom in the cart seat in the first place. They don’t consistently sell double Sunday papers(like every other grocery store in town). Their sales are rarely anything to get excited about. If I can get name brand items from Publix, why would I bother to go here for Laura Lynn products.

I dropped into Ingles to buy some ice cream when visiting relatives in Cumming. The normal price was $ 5, but it was $ 3.50 for members of the Ingles shopper club or whatever it is — you know the scam. The checker asked me if I had my Ingles card to which I answered no, but asked what it was the same as(you know, Kroger is the same as Fry’s, Safeway is the same as Vons, etc). She answered they were on their own and not the same as anyone, and asked me if I wanted to join. I explained that I was from out of town visiting relatives and didn’t need to join and asked if she didn’t just have a guest card she could scan for me(which I’ve had checkers do for me at other grocery stores on many occasions). She said she didn’t, so I just overpaid for my ice cream by $ 1.50 and went on my way. And now I’m dropping a one star rating on them because I find their strict adherence to the shopper club scam annoying and not customer friendly.

The dungeon. Vaguely malodorous. Staff are listless and odd. A little creepy. Unarmed security guard recently replaced with an unarmed security guard that evidently served as both guard and the person they hired guards to discourage from visiting. Rough appearance. Worth a longer drive to go to another store in most cases.
