Walking in to empty donut case. Asked for a dozen glazed/​choc glazed. Been waiting 8 minutes and hear a microwave going. Gentleman behind the counter said he had to heat up the oven to glaze the choc. Asked about it and was chastised for asking. He said that they are a small shop and make them to order. Felt a little encouraged as maybe they would be worth the wait. Got home and, nope. Hard, cold and dense. My son spit it out. Never, never again. Don’t waste your time or your money. Pricey for what you get.

Stopped by this morning and truly left a happy man. Great donuts and coffee and a great price, What more could you ask for. the owner of the shop was extremely nice and just as interested in our conversation as our business.
Digression: My biggest issue with Cumming is, if it is not on Market Place BLVD or in a trendy new shop/​eat/​live if feel it is easily overlooked. People buy into corporate calculation over individual entrepreneurship myself included. This is a donut shop located between a pawn shop and an antique shop, in the strip with the Ingles. Love our community support our locals.

Delicious fresh donuts!!! The muffins are great too! Cute atmosphere! I will be ordering my next bday cake from here!

Wish I could give more than 5 stars this place is great!!! I ordered 2 dozen cupcakes for my daughters bday I showed Mike the picture and when I picked them up there were even prettier than I expected and tasted wonderful I can’t believe I’ve been buying cupcakes somewhere else all these years!!! I ordered a cake for my daughters bday this coming up weekend I’m super excited and know I won’t be disappointed! Also while I was there the first time I picked up the apple strudel muffin man talk about heaven! Had to pick some more up when I went in this time if you haven’t tried this place out defiantly give it a try I promise you won’t be disappointed

Last minute order. Mike did an excellent job and was so helpful. You can tell he does not settle for less in detail. Strawberry cake with vanilla buttercream– Flavor and moisture were perfect. Not extremely sweet.

Doughnuts are made fresh not frozen or dry but fresh and delicious! Owner is nice along with other staff — great customer service. The coconut cream is yum!!!

I’m not sure what the great reviews are for??? We went to this donut shop about 3 weeks ago or so and the donuts were incredibly average. .. if not below average. The reason for my low rating is actually due to the fruit flies in the store. It made my husband and I cringe a bit to see that. :/

THE THRILL IS GONE!
What good is a donut shop that is either not open or has no donuts when you arrive? This is the third time I have gone to this shop and been disappointed. The first time, the donuts were delicious and they got a pass, but I had to wait almost an hour and a half to get some donuts and this was during their open hours. When I get home, I find that the plain glazed ones are not even glazed. Luckily I had glaze in my freezer because of a recently baked cake.
Strike two!, I visit on a Monday, guess what? They are not open although someone in the shop actually opens the door to inform me of this.
Strike three!, I go in on a SATURDAY MORNING around 11am and there are no plain glazed donuts. What? It is Saturday morning and you have no plain donuts? How does that happen. The only glazed item is a cinnamon donut. I get in the car and bite into it. Ugggghhhhhh!!!
No glaze and it has a heavy greasy taste. So imagine biting into a flavorless hunk of greasy bread when you are expecting a light and delicious donut! Not okay!
I don’t care how small your shop is, you must provide a reliable service. If I am willing to go out of my way to patronize your business, at least have a basic standard available. I don’t care for fancy all I ever want is just an actual PLAIN GLAZED donut!
From now on, I will just stick to my local mom and pop shop that epitomizes reliability. No matter what time I walk in that shop, they will have a great selection of donuts available. I have walked in at 1:30 in the afternoon and gotten exactly what I needed so why drive out of my way to a shop that continually disappoints? It’s a no brainer and I am done!
*** If you want a plain glazed donut in Cumming, I suggest you try the Ingel’s store located two doors down from Donut Depot because I recently tried Ingel’s donuts for the first time (while on vacation), and they were actually delicious! (light, fresh and generously glazed).

Best donuts around. Their dough is airy and their filling delightful. In a day when artistic donut shops get credit even when their quality and taste disappoint, Donut Depot delivers the «perfect» donut!
If you don’t see what you want, they’ll usually make it for you right there.

The donuts are decent. Everytime I go they have only a few left so if you want something specfic make sure to go early in the morning.

Best cup of coffee I have had in years! Donuts were fluffy and amazing! Had the powdered jelly and the cookies and cream. OMG!
The owner Mike is wonderful and incredibly friendly. I have not special ordered anything but his cakes look amazing. I was convinced his display cake was fondant covered but it was butter cream. I hate the taste of fondant, so being able to make perfectly smooth butter cream decorations instead is a HUGE plus for me.

Favorite place to get a cake I find cool cakes on Pinterest and they create them but better and they taste amazing. We get all our cakes here.

Probably the best Donut shop you will find in Atlanta. Blows away Revolution Doughnuts, Sublime, and Dutch Monkey. The best part about this place is that their donuts don’t cost an arm and a leg.

What a gem! I just wish they had better (longer) hours.

We ordered a cake for my sisters bridal shower a few weeks ago. It was a CoCo Chanel themed shower so I sent Mike several pics of the type of cakes we wanted. He provided us with his advice on flavors and encouraged us to use buttercream icing. I was nervous because I found him online and never tasted his cakes before. When we arrived to pick up the cake from the store I almost cried when I saw it. It looked better than the pic! The cake was gorgeous! It brought all of the décor together at the shower. The best part it was so freakin’ tasty. All of the shower guests oohed and ahhed over the cake including my extremely picky and cynical mom. She loved it! My only regret is that I forgot to take some back home with me. You better believe that the next time I’m in Atlanta I will be stopping by for more cake! 1 million thanks!

Dropped in here early one morning. The donuts were fresh, varieties galore and huge! Well worth another donut run. I recommend this new place whole heartedly

I’m from out of town (Norfolk, VA), and I wanted to order something for a family member’s Birthday so it could be delivered to their house in Cumming. I had a day left before my birthday deadline, so I called and spoke to the owner, who was very helpful. DD delivered the donuts on time to the delight of the birthday recipient (and me!). They went out of their way to help me out when I was in a time crunch, and went the extra mile to have a happy customer!!! Would definitely recommend. I have to admit, I didn’t actually taste a donut, but the response from the other end was extremely positive and when they posted a picture of the donuts on FB, it illecited a roar for those clamoring to give more business to the DONUT DEPOT!

I love a good donut but even more so I love an amazing cupcake! We buy cupcakes by the dozen. I wish I could have one for dessert every night. I prefer them fresh as opposed to in the case but either way we wolf them down.
It would be nice if they tweeted what cupcakes they baked fresh for the day. I’d definitely fly right over! I like the donuts ok and they are fairly priced too. The staff deserves 5 stars all the way. This family is so warm and welcoming. And I am just assuming everyone is related. I need to shake off some of this cupcake weight so I can visit more frequently.

What a hidden gem!
We had gotten tired of the usual Saturday morning Dunkin’ run and decided to give Donut Depot a try since they are so close to our house.
We were incredibly surprised when we walked in. HUGE homemade donuts in a variety of flavors already mentioned by many of the other reviewers.
What made me a repeat customer was the friendliness of the staff and the owner. I was talking with the girl working the counter because my daughter has dye allergies and can’t have red dye or caramel coloring. This excludes a *lot* of baked goods as most artificial vanilla contains quite a bit of caramel coloring. The owner overheard us talking and came out of the kitchen to talk ingredients with me — when we got down to the fact that it’s the coloring in the vanilla that my daughter is allergic to he sighed with relief, gave me a big grin and went and got his bottle of clear vanilla food extract to show me that there was no caramel coloring and she’s free to eat almost anything that he makes. What a treat for her!
On more than one occasion we’ve gotten there late (I work nights so we don’t get moving very early on Saturday mornings) and they have been out of my daughter’s favorite glazed donuts. Not a problem! On two different occasions they’ve walked into the kitchen and made her as many fresh donuts right then and there as she wanted.
In all we love this place and I’m thrilled to support a local business. Just wish they were open until noon for us late risers. :D

I discovered Donut Depot today while shopping at the Green Bean antique market. What a pleasant discovery. I got a dozen donuts — each a different one. The donut flavors are eclectic and exciting: maple bacon, caramel apple, coconut cream, blueberry, strawberry, and red velvet. The owners were quite friendly too. My daughter and I loved the strawberry icing. I will definitely visit again.
