My wife and I planned our Valentine’s Day outing a day early and our choices came down to Jim and Nick’s or Cracker Barrel in Cumming. Since we had not visited CB in a while, we chose to stop there for a late lunch. Boy, were we glad we did! The restaurant was about ¾ full when we arrived, and we were seated immediately by the hostess. Our waitress, Kate, greeted us cheerfully and gave us plenty of time to make our choices. She was attentive without being overbearing, pleasant, well-spoken and took care of us in a exceptional manner. My wife ordered the grilled chicken salad and I had the shrimp dinner with rice pilaf, hash brown casserole and mac n cheese. Kate personally prepared the salad which looked fresh and was arranged nicely. It was very tasty and serving size was more than adequate. My shrimp and hush puppies(!) were fried golden brown, fresh and served with massive sides. The cornbread and biscuits were tasty and served with plenty of butter. Kate visited us several times to see how we were doing, even though she was ‘busy’. She refilled drinks in a timely fashion and we never went ‘dry’. Our request for carry-out boxes was met immediately and we have another meal to look forward that home on this Valentine’s Day! After the meal, I asked to speak with the manager to share our experience and he gladly met with us at the registers and was pleased to hear we’d had a great experience, both from a food and service standpoint. Although I would normally not have chosen CB for a regular meal, this one might have me rethinking that — well-done, CB!

My wife and I just made our final trip to Cracker Barrel in Cumming, GA. The service there has never been very good but the food has been tolerable most of the time. Tonight both sank to new lows. I ordered the«chicken fried chicken.» The fried chicken that was delivered to our table was still raw, and as tough as leather. I nearly had to chase down our waitress to get her back to our table and explain the problem. I was never given an option to get something different. She just grabbed the plate and said I will bring you another. Her explanation was that she had just delivered the same dish to another table and they didn’t complain. When the second plate was delivered to the table, it was cooked only slightly better than the first. Now I am starting to feel like I need to consume a large amount of alcohol to keep the meal from making me sick.

I have never posted but felt that I had to say this aloud. The food was delicious… the service is inexcusably awful. Our waitress never came to our table. We eventually flagged someone down to take our order. It was the hostess! Waitress showed up and complained that she didn’t know that she was responsible for our table. The last time we went to this restaurant, the waitress complained numerous time about how many tables that she had to cover. No one was in dining room… This second trip will be our last. Will head a couple of exits south and eat at the Windward exit instead. Anything has to be an improvement!

Busy busy busy, despite all the bad reviews our experience was 4 star. They were packed and people were everywhere. Our food came at a resonance time considering how busy they were our orders were correct. They would have received 5 stars except my order was botched. I ordered the breakfast skillet and my veggies were not sautéed they were raw. So instead of sending back I just swept them off and ate around them.

This is the worst of the Cracker Barrel locations I’ve been to. The extra drive to the Friendship Rd location in Buford is better than the slow service and mediocre order accuracy.

I love Cracker Barrel… BUT…when a restaurant receives a «76C rating» then it doesn’t matter if it’s a Cracker Barrel or not! Not eating here until the rating changes. Geezz now where to eat

This is your typical Cracker Barrel, we popped in here to use the bathroom and buy some candy. The bathrooms were clean and the candy was delish.

Everything about a cracker barrel is the same, but some bean counter decided to cut corners and change the best syrup a restaurant could server. 55% maple and 45% sugar does not make maple. Like putting watered down sugar water on your pancakes!

Very tasty as most cracker barrels are. Stopped in on my lunch break for a Togo order and my food was accurate and packed just as pretty as they serve when you eat in. I will def be back!

I went here for breakfast and I will say that this was my second attempt at ordering breakfast at Cracker Barrel,(other locations). I will say that I am an accomplished cook and I prefer to eat my own food. However, this time I was out shopping and had to get something to eat. I found the menu to be very limited and the selections were actually over priced. Also, the food was just poorly prepared and seasoned so I would not return nor would I recommend this place for breakfast. This restaurant will always attract the same crowd because the food is just not fresh and innovative. How hard is it to simply add fresh vegetables and lighter dishes to a menu? Cracker Barrel please add fresh veggies and more varied options to your menu. Not everyone is interested in eating the Trucker’s special or excessive carbs. Thanks

Poor service. We waited an hour and half for our food, while other people came and went in that time, we didn’t get some of the items that came with our meal, and our drinks were never refilled. The food was good though, so not a completely terrible experience.

We have visited this location multiple times and have had a great experience each time. The customer service and food is always excellent and consistent.

We chose Cracker Barrel because of the menu and the atmosphere. The food is usually very good and tasty. I didn’t have a problem with that as much as with the temperature of the food. I had their famous country fried steak, mashed potatoes, rice pilaf and turnip greens with biscuits. The mashed potatoes had lumps and were room temperature as was the rice pilaf and the steak. The only thing that was reasonably warm was the turnip greens. I was very disappointed in Cracker Barrel for serving the food at room temperature.

Went for dinner. Guess they weren’t expecting a crowd on a Wednesday night because the service was so slow! When we arrived, a lot of the tables were dirty which took a while to get a table. There was a line at the hostess desk. We were finally seated, we ordered right away but the food took forever to come out. It also didn’t help that all the food was somewhat cold. Our Waitress wasn’t very attentive either. All in all, tonight’s experience was not very good.

It’s Cracker Barrel ! Can’t go wrong. Overly friendly great veggies and catfish… Good service too– thanks Laura! This is a busy location and I usually come with my mom, or call ahead for a catfish dinner or country fried steak and love the veggies. So the trick is to come after the rush, relax, we usually hit it around 2pm on a Saturday so this why the wait and crowd is not so bad. Probably eaten here 30 times and really never had anything to complain about. Most CBs you know what you are going to get and I usually don’t bring 10 – 15 people in without calling ahead– so hate to see poor reviews when you don’t plan. At this exit, its the best country food and it is packed so plan around the peak hours and you won’t be disappointed. Never waited more than 10 min — so plan ahead. My 80 yr old mom always like to pick through the vintage candies and browse the shop but mostly, we come for the veggies and for me, the catfish! If I’m not eating catfish, breakfast all day is a must try. Most anything you want and and always a choice of breads. Timing is everything– and remember you can always call head and pick up a meal which works out great too on Sunday football lazy days. When you do order to go, tip the server– someone still has to put the order in, put it together and bring it to you so don’t be cheap. They work hard for their money. Recommend.

Let it be known that I love Cracker Barrel restaurants… however, I make an exception with the store that is located in Cumming, GA. My husband and I have visited this store many times and have been disappointed with both the food and service. I have gone so far as to speak with the regional manager and still no improvements have been noted. I finally decided that it is an insane notion on my part to think that this particular location will ever meet the standards that I have grown accustomed to with the national chain. I give up, I’ll go to a different location that is not quite as convenient…

Good people, who doesn’t like Cracker Barrel? I have always loved any and all breakfast here and we stopped in this location before a visit to Six Flags and chowed down. Most excellent.

When we heard a Cracker Barrel was going to replace the«PR Shoney’s» here in Cumming, we were ecstatic. We would finally have a good breakfast alternative in town. We’ve eaten here a couple of times now and the food has been good and the coffee hot, just like you’d expect from Cracker Barrel. I’ve never been here for lunch or dinner(do they even serve dinner at Cracker Barrel?) but the breakfast carries on just as you’d expect from CB. Zero complaints.

Perhaps I have some fairly high expectations for Cracker Barrel. I grew up only being able to stop at one on our way down here while I still lived in VA. I may have been overly excited, thinking I could have that same experience whenever I wanted with the new one right around the corner! Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed when my family(in town from VA with my same experiences) and I visited this location. It was a busy Sunday morning and we expected to wait, but did not have to for more than 10 minutes. We were seated and greeted right away. That’s where the«positives» ended. My order came out wrong and with most of the order missing. By the time it was rectified, my family had finished their meals. Our drinks went empty for the rest of the meal. We were even approached by a manager who promised to «send someone right over.» That never happened. After I hurriedly shoved my food down, we waited another 15 minutes for the check(and our refills to arrive). That never happened. Our server was busy checking on the tables immediately next to us, but didn’t seem to notice our empty glasses, empty plates and impatient looks. We finally took it upon ourselves to check out with no paper check in hand. The manager was able to look up our order, but offered no apology. The only reason I’m giving this 2 stars instead of 1 is due to the fact that the food wasn’t bad. I think my next experience will be on my way back to VA, or perhaps at the location on Windward. I won’t be returning to this one anytime soon.

I’ve been to this location twice since they’ve opened, once for lunch, and once for dinner. Both times the food has been great. Yeah, it’s a little slow, but it’s a Cracker Barrel, not McDonalds. Not only do they have to cook the food, but they’re also super-crowded. I personally don’t understand why people need to have breakfast with a party of 30(this actually happened my first time there), but hey, it’s a free country. So, yeah, Larry, Darryl, and Darryl can slow things down a bit, but put your feet up and relax. Sit on a rocking chair and have some quality time with your phone. You know you never make time for it. Once you get in and get a table, the servers are CB-standard-friendly. One of our orders was a little off(Country instead of Sugar ham), but it was fixed right away.(and hey, Free Ham!) The food both times was hot and delicious. In fact, I’d probably recommend this location over the Windward Parkway space with the thought that they’re trying a bit harder here, making sure everything is perfect, because they’re the new kid on the block. tl;dr — Hot, delicious food, standard CB wait-times.
