There will never be another TOKYO77 Which is what was here for 40 years before this hipster DB faux speakeasy. A big thank you to the amazing ladies who cooked up a mean spam and eggs nihongo style with class and style until the very end.

Went here last night with some coworkers. This place was really packed for so early on a Saturday(around 9pm), and service was surprisingly good. It took a little to get drinks, but the bartender was apologetic and even gave us some extra shots for the wait. If you’re patient you can probably snag some seating, but the place is small and seems pretty popular so expect to be standing for a while if you have a bigger group. The music was good and the place had a nice vibe though. Another great addition to a downtown culver pub crawl.

This was my second visit, I enjoyed a glass of wine with a girlfriend, hopping in Culver City a couple weeks ago. Arrived around 8ish, earlier than the music scene and it was moderately busy; I was able to get a low lounge seat for two. Doesn’t look like much from the alley tucked away behind Rocco’s, you’ll only note the neon cocktails sign and bougainvillea. So walk in the adjacent door and you’re in a lush low lit speak-easy. Love the comfy tufted booths and thick use of reds; wall patterns glint softly from the chandeliers.

The place is pretty small but it didn’t feel cramped. Also it has a cool speakeasy feel. Nice bartenders, good music and the drinks were good. I will be back.

The cocktail menu was pretty cool. My friends and I tried a few the signatures. The music was good. There wasn’t much dancing but I appreciated the DJ’s selection. I went on a Saturday around 10. The crowd was mature(late 20’s — mid 30’s).

The entrance is in the alley way sandwiched between a restaurant and the parking lot, it can be a little hard to miss. It’s a pretty small place, but you can certainly still have a great time. Came here for a friend’s birthday and a half of the booth/seated area was reserved for a party. It wasn’t that the party was large, it’s just that the place is small. Throughout the night it does get a bit crowded to the point where you may need to dance/shimmy your way to the bar. Bartenders are pretty attentive and they sell food throughout the night if you get hungry. DJ was a bit hit and miss throughout the night. He seemed to play a lot of J. Lo, Kanye, and JAy-Z. I’d come here again, but certainly not with a large group of people.

This place is small but love the speakeasy feel. Good music. Was pretty packed around 10:30pm on a Saturday night. Enter through the alley by Rocco’s tavern and it’s by the Cocktails sign.

Pretty legit bar set-up ! Definitely most disrespectful bartender ever! his sarcasm was up his ass just like the finger he gave to us. Horrible experience without a doubt!

The setup of this bar is dope. But that bald headed chicken head bartender is a piece of shit. Rude Af and honestly after reading so many reviews I don’t know how you guys still have him there. Wish would of got his name. Never again.

This is a small bar in downtown Culver but they make some great drinks. The food is solid too– get their burger or fried shrimp. The music was amazing, DJ Bliss was spinning and got everyone on their feet dancing. She played old school hip-hop and some newer stuff. Had an awesome time and will definitely be back!

2 stars because the only thing cool about this bar is the location. One of the bartenders was extremely rude and I saw him yell at a guy who accidentally stood in the way of the serving counter. Waited so long for my drink, and then they said they wouldn’t close my tab until I returned the copper cup it came in. Ok that’s fine, then I saw a party of 5 leaving their booth and they encouraged my friend and I to take it since they had it reserved until 11 and we’re heading out early. As soon as I sit down this cocktail waitress tells us to move because the booth is reserved I told her, that the party that just left gave it to us cuz it’s not reserved for another 20 mins. And she responded in a very angry rude tone saying that I need to open up a tab with her if I wanted to sit there,(even though I already had a tab open at the bar). I don’t know what the official rules are about this but you don’t have to be so rude. In short, probably never coming back here again since their staff lacks manners. This place was just off. Gotta say there was one bartender with the beard that was really nice and helped me close out my tab when I returned my copper cup lol

Cute little hole in the wall lounge with a good selection of choices. They have several of my favorite tequilas including Forteleza and Classe Azul. It’s a little crowded and tight, but the music is great and the people are friendly. It’s quite popular and a bit hard to find in the ally behind Rocco’s. A great spot to stop in for a cocktail.

A nice place to have a few drinks while bar hopping. When you walk in, you will notice they are small and more of a back alley bar. Thats not a bad thing as its not crowded for that reason. Unfortunately when we got there, half the place was RSVP holds, and we got moved around 2 – 3 times due to that which was a bit irritating. The dancers come out every 15 – 30 minutes i believe. They are not bad, but a bid odd when you are there with a date and they come dance up on you. But its a great experience and part of the ambiance they offer here. All in all, not bad, not bad prices on drinks either.

The first time I was here business was slow(it was a Wednesday), but the bartender was very knowledgeable and funny. I came back the next day and it was more lively. Music is still great and the drinks are still on point. I’ll probably go broke if I go here regularly, but other than that I can’t complain because they don’t hold back on their alcohol. I’d definitely recommend this place.

I came here a few weeks ago to meet up with a friend who was visiting out of town. It was a Saturday night around 10:30. It wasn’t super easy to find because it was tucked away in an alley but I love the location. The crowd was pretty cool but it got really packed within half an hour of being there so we all decided to leave. I’d like to go back on a weeknight and see what it’s like. Overall it was fun.

I came here for the first time last weekend with a group of friends. The building is tucked away in an alley but it’s not too hard to miss it. It’s a bit small and intimate and they have a little dance floor near the entrance. They have an interesting menu of drinks at a typical LA price(about $ 12). My friends and I tried the absinthe cocktail and some sort of honey cocktail mix. It was pretty good. The music that they played varied and it was just okay. The vibe was nice and the people were cool. There is no cover and the bouncer was cool too, no pretentiousness here. Parking in downtown Culver City isn’t too bad. If anything, I would recommend parking at the Trader Joe’s parking structure and walking over. I only had to pay $ 1.

A chill bar tucked behind the CC downtown parking structure. I always forget about it until… I stumble by it on my way home from dinner. My friend and I finally stepped in one night because of the LIVE band playin’. Friendly service, casual vibe… we’re definitely coming back! Draft beers are local brews and a nice mix of wine and cocktails!

Solid 3; drinks are expensive but the place itself is cool and a total throwback to hip bars with their dark lighting and chandeliers. We didn’t order food but when the folks next to us did, I wanted to attack their pizza. So we may be back.

I love love love hidden gems and this one is a winner! By recommendation, my friend and I waltzed over from Public School and found hidden a lone«Cocktails» lit up sign in an alley way. A little further and you are at the entrance of Seventy7. This place reminds me of The Association in DTLA – hidden, swanky, and oh so fun for a lounge. A cocktail can knock you back $ 15($ 14 plus tax) and a beer ranged from $ 7 – 8. There were only three offerings on tap, all of which are local drafts. Cocktails were unique and had some type of spice, twist, or kick to them. Love it! Being a beer lover, I got a Coronado Golden Ale, which wasn’t bad. Wouldn’t be my first beer of choice though. The best part of the night was the MUSIC. PROPSAND $$$ FORTHEDJ. Hey DJ, keep playing that song all night, on and on and on. He absolutely killed it with the feel good, old skool disco g-funk. Unfortunate that a lot of people were just around talking rather than grooving to the music! I was absolutely in love. Plus, the bouncer guy who was watching over the hallway restrooms was jiving and having a grand old time singing and dancing as well. Now, that’s a party. Only negative is that it’s a pretty small place and table/seats are reserved in which you have to open a tab and let the host seat you. Not a big deal, but can be annoying when you see«Reserved» signs everywhere with nonexistent parties. If you’re trying to have conversation here, it may be difficult with the music, but I suggest coming here to chill, have a drink, and dance the night away.

This rating is mainly for DRINKS, SERVICE and ATMOSPHERE. I’ve been here several times usually before, after, or in between visits to nearby restaurants. Saturday night was no exception. First, we enjoyed tapas at The Wallace. Then stopped at Seventy7. Then continued to Akasha. Very comfortable and sexy atmosphere here. It’s a tiny space with lots of seating. It about drinks here. Mixed drinks. And they’re great. The bartender is very friendly and knowledgable. He seems to enjoy working here. I’ve ordered pizza once about a year ago. It was less than good. I barely see anyone eating here. I think it’s pretty understood that this is a speak easy cocktail bar. I do love the fact that Seventy7 is in downtown CC. And it’s in a back alley. Love it.
