2 ½ stars. Perfectly kind staff, but middle of the road, «eh» food. We were excited to try Novecento based on all the strong reviews. But left disappointed — the meal was mediocre through and through. Tasted like generic, canned type ingredients. Not a fan of the green, mushy ‘minestrone’ nor the overly fishy seafood flavors in our pasta dish. For the quality, way overpriced… it all felt touristy, not authentic. Even if it was an off-night, it’s easy enough to find good-ish Italian food in L.A. — we would not go back.

Novecento is a final remnant of what this part of town was like before the cinema opened it up. I always begin with their non-tomato-based minestrone and on a chilly night you can’t go wrong with the Farfalle Mamma Mia! It does my soul and my tummy good to know this place is still here. :-)

Went to Novecento for the first time last night. It was a very intimate setting and we loved how cozy the atmosphere was. The food was delicious. I got their simple salad and their bow tie pasta. Definitely will be going back. So glad I found this gem in Culver City!

I love this place. It reminds me of being back home. Their pasta is very good. I like the Ravioli Della Nonna, but even more than that, I always get their gnocchi with bolognese. The prices are affordable and you get a lot for your money. I highly recommend this place and will be back many times.

This place is just as amazing as I remembered it 5 – 6 years ago. I want to say it’s run by true Italians. The service is great and the interior design actually made me feel like I was in Europe. Both dishes we ordered were pretty phenomenal. We had the Pasta Carbonara which was very similar to the ones you would have in Italy. A lot of restaurants tend to ‘Americanize’ carbonara dishes. So props to them on that. We also had the Ravioli Della Nonna –home-made raviolis filled with spinach and ricotta and a vodka marinara cream sauce. That is where it’s at. This is certainly a ‘WOW’ dish and a must order. They do such a good job with all their plates. They also serve you bread and an olive tapenade before your meal and they are delicious. I highly recommend trying this place if you haven’t already been!

You know what’s so fantastic about Angela and her restaurant? It feels like home. The warmth in her smile, the Italian welcome greeting and the food. Unpretentious, simply delicious food. These dishes that don’t cater to the American cheese-laden, cardboard tasting pasta palates. Nope, you won’t find garlic bread or tacky cheap Chianti here. Instead you’ll find delicious, simple and perfectly sized portions of what I think is Italian food as tasty as that in the restaurants found on the cobblestone streets of Rome or any city in Italy. Come here for low key, not over the top Italian in a quiet setting and friendly and fast service.

This place is a giant disappointment compared to all the other amazing local options. The salad came with regular sliced deli ham instead of the procutto that was advertised. The minestrone soup was really overcooked and mushy. Staff was very nice, but food was overpriced for what they serve.
