One of the great perks of living in a cosmopolitan area is having access to business services ranging from high-end luxuries to off-the-beating-path venues; both respective to budget and personal taste. For those of us who are«price conscious» yet value customer service –especially when shopping for eye wear finding the right store can become a formidable task(i.e., past negative experiences). Hopefully this review can give you heads up on this JC Penny Optical location(Westfield mall). First, for the record I paid about $ 105 for an eye exam(without discount) «ouch» but worth every«penny» for one reason– great customer service. My recent visit was nothing short of top notch genuine treatment from staff. Dr. Han, the onsite independent Optometrist is among other things(smart, professional, etc.) super cool and extremely patience. The exam was void of stress; did not encounter any sense of being hurried for her next appointment. She is quite personable should you have questions about eye care including those insurance flexible spending cards. Aldor, the sales clerk was very helpful; whenever a situation warranted immediate response he would go above and beyond to assist. One example during fitting was him alerting me of an upcoming sales event so that I can get a better deal if I waited. «2 for 1 sounds great!» Unless you’re set on purchasing«ultra-Bling» brand names their selection of eye wear is comparable; there’s something for everyone. Quite frankly after a while all those frames really begin to look alike. I would recommend this store for your wallet but the true value for your buck is their customer service. Pros: all the above; entrance from roof top parking lot is convenient. Cons: men selections for frames are limited.

I love JCPenny Optical! They are fast, efficient, and very friendly. My appointment was at 9am and I had arrived a few minutes early. I didn’t have to wait, the doctor saw me right away. The eye exam took about 30 minutes. It was faster than other places. Exams are $ 65 without insurance. Most places charge about the same price. You may pay a lower rate or nothing depending on the insurance you have. I did not get much of a deal on eyeglasses and sunglasses. I received only 25% off by signing up for an in store credit card and $ 50 off each item. Although during holidays and special events, they do give great discounts. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful in making my decisions. From picking out frames and lenses to letting me know all the possible discounts I can get, they were super informative and expressed it in a friendly manner. The staff completely knows how to make their customers happy. I would definitely recommend coming here if you have insurance or feel like you are first priority.
