Taste of Philly Sub Shop

It was okay, but I have had better. I think the biggie here, is that portions are huge. We shared a 12 inch Philly with their extreme fries, which were topped with cheez whiz and real bacon. Pictured below is a half of a 12 inch and the extreme ff, which was more than enough for two people. I am accustomed to having thin slices of ribeye as the meat in a Philly, but this was pretty chopped up and undiscernable. It tasted ‘okay’, but was highly salted. The fries were a large serving, and basically enough for four as a side, and had plenty of real bacon bits. And the cheese, well it was cheez whiz, what can I say. You have to be in the mood for some serious junk food. They were nice enough to cut in half and serve in separate baskets, and were brought out to us at the picnic tables outside under the trees. I’m glad it was pleasant outside, as the seating is limited inside, like maybe 4 small tables for two, and we were a party of four. I might go again if I had a hankering for a cheese steak and I was close by, but I doubt I would make a special trip to eat there.

Always a very solid steak sandwich. Staff is also extremely friendly and welcoming. Love this place.

Best Philly Cheese Steak I have ever had. I am down here visiting my parents this week and my mom mentioned that she had a cheese steak the other day and that it was good. Such an understatement. We stopped by to grab food for out boat ride. I ordered a 7″ cheese steak and my parents had an Italian. Again, it was the best I have ever had. Cheese was good, steak was juicy, green peppers and onions were cooked perfect and were not overwhelming. So good that the next day I went and got a 12″ and it was equally as delicious. I recommend this place to anyone that wants a delicious meal! Poor Subway next door must be struggling because of this place…

i went crystal river to see the manatees, which I did. But to my surprise, what I did find was a great cheesesteak. excellent flavor and size. i hope they will open a shop in St. Pete

Great Philly Sub. So excited there is a place with GREAT sanwich in this little corner of the world! Great food, Friendly and Fast service. One cannot ask for more.

If you want a delicious, hot, fresh sandwich prepared for you, as you watch, this is the place. YUM! Are you homesick for that white birch beer to go with that Philly cheesesteak? They’ve got you covered. Nothing fancy about the building but you’re not there for the brickwork. You’re there for the sandwich and what a delicious hoagie it is. Priced right, prepared fresh. What more could you ask for?

Great place! Small and homey. Loved it! Had a blt sandwich, boyfriend had a Philly steak sandwich. Great choices. Great service.

Taste of Philly delivers. Had the cheesesteak and extreme fries both were awesome. Place was packed when we got there but service was quick and very friendly.

Absolutely great authentic sandwiches I loved the cheesesteak then I saw the mountain of bacon on their BLT and now I’ll have to keep going back till I’ve tried the entire menu

There are only a few places in the south that make a decent steak and cheese but this place makes a great steak and cheese. I have to drive 35 minutes just to get here but it’s worth it. It’s a shack that always seems to be packed with other steak and cheese enthusiasts.

On vacation on crystal river-​Was trying to turn in to subway and went a little too far– much to my surprise there was a cute little deli on the corner– it was packed so I decided to try it!!! It was hopping! All the regulars were saying how wonderful it was so I figured I was in the right place! I had to order the Philly cheesesteak since it was what they are known for!!! YUM they do not skimp on these subs!!! So good and such a nice welcoming little place! Sub ran me about $ 9 and I split it with my husband– it was perfect!

A for real cheeseteak sandwich! No joke. Crystal River is known for little but 3 things: Duke Energy’s nuclear power plant, manatee’s and scallop season. It should be known for this joint.

This is like walking into Philly, this is the best cheese steak you will ever find. From the rolls, cheese and the best steak you will put in your mouth ¾ of a pound of meat on each sandwich. Things like cheese fries or there ¾ pound cheese burger to the BEST sandwich I think is on the menu would be the chicken carbonara that is Alfredo based with bacon and American cheese wow. Linda and her family are awesome host you’ll love this place!

What’s there to say about the BEST cheese steak outside of Philly! I am a professional road-​warrior and have tried cheesesteaks all over (yes even in Philly) and hands down these are the best. Excellent service, friendly staff, and an owner with «Spunk» to have stood up to the city!!!
I look forward to coming into town to work so that I can get my cheesesteak «fix» on!

This is by far the best place to get a philly in the entire county. I absolutely love it!

The owner, Linda Downey, is currently in a fight with the city over flying too many patriotic flags. American, Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard and Florida. Sounds ok to me!
I love coming here. The sandwiches are huge and very good. Everything is fresh and they use quality ingredients. The salads are wonderful but I come here for the MeAt! And that’s what you get on these subs. Wow. You won’t find bacon bits here. They fry their own and chunk it. Expect about 8 slices on a BLT!

Awesome Philly! We also had the extreme (loaded) fries. Very hot and fresh. They make everything in front of you. Very limited seating, but will definitely come again!
