I initially found Dr. Zimmerman through a Google search because that’s how desperate I was to leave Women’s Health First. I was not keen on the idea of delivering my first child with whichever of the 10 doctors were on call and the«free clinic» feel that the latter provided. I wanted a more personal experience with a single doctor who knew my concerns and shared my views on natural birth. I «interviewed» Dr. Zimmerman and he made me feel at ease – he is all for what is best for mom & baby(one of the best doctors for V-back births and uses C-sections only when absolutely necessary). Over the years I’ve stayed with his office for my annual exams and although I typically see the nurse practitioner all of them are pretty great! The appointments are booked by the staff and completed without enormous wait times. All the health professionals show good bedside manners and my visits are as painless as gyno appointments can be. My only complaints are: 1) difficult to get to the office; located on the Good Shepherd hospital campus but tucked in the back and confusing to get to especially with intermittent construction 2) they don’t use email or any sort of recent technology to remind you of appointments/receive documents 3) not a huge deal BUT their office is a deadzone for cell phone service so forget about doing anything that requires contact with the outside world/internet during that hour; prepare to use your time getting re-acquainted with parenting magazines and brochures on STDs

Dr. Zimmerman is great! He really asks questions, and is very good at explaining his thoughts, actions, when reasoning, treating and going specific routes. Always, always very personable! The office is always very prompt in getting back to you and they will go out of their way and beyond help you with what they can. Polite! Sometimes you do have to wait, but you know that is the nature of the business. Baby’s are unpredictable!
