Lincoln carry outs is one of those long standing restaurants that my parents took me to as a child and now I take my own children.
This isn’t really a «sit and dine» place but more of a take out sub and sandwich spot, and they are good!
The menu includes many types of subs, burgers, dogs and sandwiches. Personally, I love their corned beef so the corned beef subs and rueben top my favorites. The cheese sticks and onion rings are also awesome so make sure to add them too.
Lastly, take advantage of your time and simply call ahead so you can get in and out in 2 minutes.

I grew up eating Lincolns fairly regularly. As a NWI native, I feel like you’re missing out if you haven’t had a Lincoln Burger or US Steel in your life. Though I miss the Gary locations, this location holds up well. Almost every time we make the trip home, we try to stop by. Besides being tasty, the food is also affordable and filling. Do yourself a favor and skip Subway. Just go to Lincolns.

Can’t beat this place for Italian subs and other terrific sandwiches. I was pleasantly surprised to find a place where the subs weren’t Subway in small-​town Indiana. Definitely the place to go for lunch.

This place is a joke. I don’t know why they call it Lincolns because they don’t carry any of the sandwiches that ALL the other locations carry. The classic sandwiches that made them popular in IL and in IN this place doesn’t carry because they think their better than that? Really?

So much better than the original in highland Indiana. The staff gets the order right ever-​time and they also seem to be very efficient. The owner leads by example by multitasking without appearing to be overwhelmed. The establishment is very clean, welcoming and they always thank you for your business. Thank you for the extraordinary food and service!!!

I was very excited while I was waiting & seen so many people in & out, but it all went down hill. First off, I had never been there before & certain things should have been asked. I ordered my fiancé an Italian beef & they gave him a very small one. I was not aware that they had two sizes, which is my fault, but still wish i was asked which size. Then it took a very long time for my order. A few people came in&out while I was waiting (they did not call ahead). My fries were cold & they sandwich was very sloppy. I was not at all impressed, but with all that said the food itself was still decent.

This is my favorite sandwich shoppe. The steelworker/​us steel is one of the best sandwiches you ever eat. The bunny girl, subs, and club are other sandwiches I highly recommend. The fried mushrooms are big and juicy too. I have to stop writing because I’m getting hungry speaking about how awesome those sandwiches are. Try them… I promise… you will not be sorry, unless you have no idea what a goodbold school home made sandwich tastes like. This is not Panera, so if you’re looking for that type of food do not come here.
