Worst Mexican food I’ve ever had and I’m not picky about Tex mex either. It tasted like they pulled everything from the freezer and microwaved it. The green sauce glowed. Like seriously, If the electricity were to go out, I think you could have used it to light your way. It quite possibly could have tasted heavenly but the glow factor kept me from ingesting it.

We use this as meeting place for family in Houston. It is the perfect middle point. The owners are great. Super nice and polite. The food is excellent. The prices are right. They food is more homestyle, not like the other franchises and larger restaurants in the area. Don’t hesitate to give it a try.

Pesos where they know you by name and treat you like family. You can’t get better service anywhere. Seriously the owner is very hands on. This is a Crosby institution. Good solid TexMex food. The chips and salsa are great, but the Chimichangas are one of a kind. Highly recommend.

Bleh, food was not very good. Don’t get to-go food from here. They use styrofoam plates for everything which means your food(such as enchiladas or nachos) cannot and will not be cooked through. I worked in a Mexican restaurant before and we bought foil pans for items that needed cheese melted, etc. My cheese enchiladas were not cooked, and the shredded cheese on top was not melted. The nachos were the same way and they use thin chips for the nachos, so they were all soggy and had to be eaten with a fork. Their rice is strange and does not taste like traditional rice. Red salsa looks straight out of a tomato sauce can and guacamole was made with unripe avocados, making parts of it hard to eat(hard chunks of avocado). This place could be good if they made minor improvements. Unfortunately, I have not found a good Mexican restaurant in Crosby. Iguana Joe’s here is over priced and not very good.

When we moved to Crosby, we would come here almost weekly, the food was okay, the prices we’re good, but the OWNER’S are RUDE! The wife is a server and she is rude, tries to rush your dinner time, and we will NOT be returning! Don’t go here, Iguana Joe’s across the street is so much nicer, cleaner, and friendlier staff!

Good food, good prices and super nice people. The menu has a nice variety of Tex Mex. And they have a nice steam table lunch.

Oh wow! I LOVE peso’s! Sergio is the owner and such a super nice guy! He knows me by name and always makes sure he comes to check on me and chats and asks about the family if they aren’t with me. The girls and I like to have a girls night out here and we always get one of Sergio’s famous pink drinks… definite must! It’s a strawberry pina colado and is amazing!!! The food is great. I LOVE the chimichangas and the Santa Fe Salad. BUT… their beans, yeah, I could eat nothing but them! I will call in occasionally just to get a to go order of the charro beans. I don’t know what Sergio does to them to make them so addictive, but my gosh they’re phenomenal! The waitstaff is always very friendly and helpful. My glass is never empty and the chips and dips are constantly refilled. Also, if you have a group, they have a private room that accomodates a rather large group and it’s reasonably priced. If you’re looking for some seriously great Tex-Mex in the area, this should be your go to place.

The best Mexican food option in Crosby. The owner is always present & friendly. The staff is attentive. The salsa & chips flow freely. I love the vegetable quesadilla, the order is big enough to share our take some home as it is great the next day. The tamales are my daughters favorite, she rates them without the chili & cheese. The rice & beans are average. The biggest complaint I have is that the smoking section is not separate from the non-smoking. In a slow night, not that big of a deal. On a busy night, e have had to leave because the smoke was so thick.

Small town Tex-Mex. The food is pretty standard, but the owner is around and the staff is incredibly friendly and takes service seriously. Crosby is more like a small town than a suburb of Houston. If you’re looking for a hometown dining option that also happens to have soft-serve ice cream, you’re looking at Peso’s.

Always dependable and good service. Sergio, Ofilia, and Jamie have been making sure we are fed well for years. Fancy… No. Solid performance for sure. The only item that does not keep pace is the fajitas.

My husband and I hate this place. Every year we try it and every year we say we will never go back. Maybe they have just had a bad day for the last 6 years we’ve given them chances. My friends at work love their steam table at lunch.

Stopped in at the recommendation of another long-time Crosby resident. They said it was a good locally owned, no frills, yet consistent, down-home Tex-Mex. She was spot on… only I thought the green sauce, chips and salsa were exceptional. The chips were light, thin, and salty! Just the way I love them. I ate two things of green sauce by myself. Ordered the summer special and was STUFFED when I left. It hit the spot when you’re craving mexican comfort food. So happy to have two good choices right here in Crosby. They were also very friendly. I was by myself, brought the paper, and never once felt like they wanted me to hurry up and leave. They kept refilling my drink and salsa. They would have brought me more chips but I declined only out of embarrassment and the fact that I would have sat there an eaten another entire basket by myself because I have no self control over chips and salsa no matter how full I am. Looking forward to a return visit!

I love their food, their atmosphere and the people! The owner and the manager know us by name, know what drink we want and treat us great! They are a local restaurant and I think that makes a big difference. My favorite restaurant in Crosby!

Sergio and Ophelia will treat you like family! watch out, she might take your baby home! :) They are super friendly people, the food is great and they’ll make you feel right at home. The chips and sauces are great, and one of the reviews said the queso wasn’t great, but I think they’ve changed it and it’s way better now. The steam table chicken fried steak is great! and you’ll just love the food and the service.

I must say the owner and his wife are very nice, and remember you every time you go for a bite. My favorite is the Santa Fe Chicken Salad crisp taco with lots of lettuce and grilled chicken with a very unique spicy sweet dressing. I also like their lunchtime steam table with Southern home style cooking. Tuesday is fried chicken day mmmmmm good. Their Tex-Mex is Ok but not anything special. The place is clean and they have free ice cream with the purchase of a meal. The free ice cream in Mexican restaurants is a Crosby staple.

You know Sergio?! Come join me! Sergio, owner of Peso’s, has known my family for years. We’ve come to his establishment since, well…95. Wow. I was 9. Ok… After that strange epiphany I just had, the one thing that has stood out is how the menu didn’t change, but WHY change perfection? Everything is exactly the way it used to be. The have horrible queso, but the red and green sauces are a food group by itself. His chicken quesadillas will make you see God, and the Carne Guisada will give you heartburn that hurts SO good. For folks who want to watch their weight, try the Santa Fe Salad. The damn Salad has about 2lbs of grilled chicken, and a whole head of iceberg lettuce inside a massive taco shell. Easily over 1500 calories. Is it good for you. Of course. Its a salad for Christ’s sake. Why wouldn’t it be? The mexican food in Crosby is honestly to die for. Folks inside the loop, or belt don’t know what they’re missing! Take a trip down to Crosby for the Fair and Rodeo during the 2nd weekend of June and stop by Peso’s. Its very much worth your while. P. S. Dont forget the complimentary Ice Cream for Dessert

I think Peso’s has been in this location longer than Crosby has been a town. When we moved to Crosby in 95′… yes… that is 1995… Peso’s was our go to place for fast friendly service. They have only changed ownership once in all the years that we have been going there. The new owners took over around 10+ years ago… You don’t have to worry about any change that usually comes with new ownership because the new owner just happened to be the one that ran the restaurant for as long as I can remember. So, you get the same quality of food and service. The food at Peso’s is really nothing to write home about… it is your typical Tex-Mex without any bells and whistles… Just the way Crosby folks like it. They also have a steam table lunch that brings people that work at the local refinery there for lunch. The stream table lunches usually include 2 meats and a few veggies… along with bread. Again… nothing to write home about… just good wholesome food. It will stick to your ribs… But the thing that keeps me going back to Crosby even after moving away is the friendly service that you get in locally owned establishments… and Paso’s goes well beyond what you would expect. I have never received anything less than outstanding customer service while dinning at Peso’s. They always greet you with a smile… and never make you feel like you are putting them out when you ask them to get you a refill or a change to your order. I am sure that I will make the trek to Crosby many more times in the future just to visit Peso’s and the other fine establishments in Crosby… I love the«everyone knows your name» feel of the place.
