Under staffed, lack of experienced and disorganized. Avoid this place especially during lunchtime m-f, as the get severely overwhelmed by seminars breaking for lunch. The food is mediocre and fairly priced.

We had the breakfast buffet only. It was excellent. Good seletion of fresh fruits, oatmeal, eggs, sausage. Cheerful service.

All we had was breakfast here and it was enough that we did not have any other meals while staying at the hotel. There were limited non-egg breakfast choices. The yogurt parfait we had was acceptable but for the price I was disappointed. The coffee was good and the fruit was fresh. The waitresses that helped us were very nice.

Why just two stars? Food was great! Bartender/Server was great too! The reason was because of the gift coupon. The minimum to redeem the coupon was $ 50, which was high compared to $ 37.50 by most other participating restaurants. Secondly, the minimum excluded the cost of alcoholic drinks; different from most of the restaurants. Though I should have asked before I ordered the food, the requirement was ridiculous and I will never come back unless the stipulation becomes more lax.

It’s the hotel bar at the Crowne Plaza in Cromwell, a building with architecture as warm and welcoming as a military base. The inside is nicer, fortunately. Since no one was eating inside the restaurant itself, we actually sat down at the bar for a full dinner. Know first that we really did enjoy our food. I had blackened scallops with a spicy fennel coulis, my fiancée had a nice lamb dish. Even the side dishes were royally prepared, including grilled asparagus and the risotto of the day. Joe was a very cordial and friendly server/bartender. Here’s where it comes crashing down. We had a coupon, which stipulated a very hefty minimum of $ 50(ordinarily the minimum is $ 35 – 40). After attempting to pay our bill, Joe comes back stating, «Unfortunately, that minimum does not include alcohol. And we had an earlier customer with this problem too. The manager states it’s up to the restaurant. You’re only up to $ 42.» We were forced to order more food to make the minimum. Totally [expletive deleted] unacceptable. Restaurants are NOT allowed to add surprise restrictions to coupons after they are sold online. I wrote a stern letter to the manager on the back of my receipt, contacted about his illicit demands, and wrote this negative Unilocal about the experience. Needless to say, we won’t be returning for future meals either. So tell me, Manager of Sheffield’s, was it worth the extra $ 8 in revenue?

Meh. There was nobody in here when we went for lunch. The one staff member we saw was friendly and professional. Our food came out in good time, and our drinks were kept full. However, the food was mediocre. I ordered the grilled tofu with avocado. This was listed as grilled tofu, sprouts, avocado, and hummus. There were sprouts and tofu. I’m not so sure about the avocado or hummus. On the top and bottom portions of the bun there were definitely some traces of a moist food product. However, there was such a small amount that I couldn’t even identify what it was. A teaspoon would be a generous estimate. Not a teaspoon of food product on each half of the bun; but a combined total of maybe a teaspoon. The tofu was simply a slab of grilled tofu. It tasted like a grill, and wasn’t half bad if you’re used to eating plain tofu. Overall, I wasn’t impressed. It was large, fancy, clean, and well-lit. My food was lacking, though.

This I went here for drinks late at night. This is your typical hotel bar… The prices were about $ 7 for mixed drinks, which is about right. The drinks were made well. I was there on a Friday and Saturday night and the bar was not too busy aside from my group. However, it is your typical bar, which is well stocked, clean and has a nice atmosphere. I must say the bartenders and staff were very friendly and nice. They made my experience much better. I would definitely visit the bar again if I were staying at the hotel again.

We stayed at the hotel overnight to support my son at a function they had there. Lunch was ok. I had a burger and it was cooked to my liking. The staff is very nice and professional. My daughter didn’t like the pasta dish too much, but please don’t go by her. I love her dearly, but she’s a picky eater. I like the fact that they have free unlimited refills on the juice and soda. We are eating dinner right now, which is very good. Overall a good experience and I would eat here again.
