Best for nightlife in Crested Butte. Love this bar! The main reasons to go are the good people, pool tables, and darts. It just happens to provide alcohol too. There are also performances of local musicians on certain nights.

We have enjoyed the service(Amy’s a great server/bartender), food, drinks and atmosphere for many years and enjoy bringing our out of town friends here. Our latest experience however was not so great. Our bartender was not friendly or helpful and we were a bit embarrassed in front of our friends as we had told them what a great place it is. The food was adequate but we did not linger after lunch because we really felt as if it was an imposition to be waited on. Hope things improve soon.

Fletcher & Co. have done a phenomenal job re-inventing this bar. The atmosphere kicks ass — pool tables, dart, and a slew of other games. They serve food. They pour well — and have cheap PBR! The music is always on point — plus, this place is as rich in history as it gets when it comes to a bar.

It’s a bar, a saloon as they prefer to be called. Just a bar with cold beer and not-so-good wings. Go for the beer and music, but not the wings. It seemed like they were deep fried, then cold, then deep fried again, a couple of times. Blah! Would I go back, sure, for the beer and music only.

On the far end of Elk Street, and the first place you see coming off Rt. 12, Kochevar’s is a dive of a dive bar, suited well for the full timers who make a go of life on the fringes of the ski business and mountaineering. The bar is all True Grit, with a cast of characters that fit perfectly in the dark wood and spittoons of an Old West saloon. The food be decent, if far from inspired. The prices on the drinks about the best in town. While Eldo was my favorite watering hole when I wanted to spend a few hours talking with the guys, Koch’s was usually my second choice when Eldo’s was too noisy or my friends weren’t there. It had an older feel to it, and a complete lack of pretense. If you fit in, no one looked twice at you. The regulars here did not always want to talk. They were courteous, but wished to be left to drink in peace.
