I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately I won’t be returning anytime soon. A table setting was dirty when we sat down. We ordered appetizers and they took around 40 min to arrive. We had the fried calamari, was very good and good portion. We also ordered the risotto special with crabmeat as an appetizers, was good but there was no crabmeat. Not worth the $ 26. We also ordered a salad, which never came and we were charged for it. We had to notify the staff and they made the adjustment. For the entrees we ordered three of the chicken contadina. It tasted good however, each of the three dishes had different chicken portions. One had two small pieces, while the other had 4 small pieces. The dish also was served with sausage, two of the dishes came with two bite size slices of sausage(very small), while the other had only one extremely small end piece of sausage. The menu noted it would be served with potatoes, none of the three dishes had potatoes. We notified the staff and they bought out a dish of potatoes, some of the potatoes had no salt, while others had a lot of salt. This dish was extremely inconsistent and disappointing. We also ordered the Pappardelle Bosaiola, which is supposed to be served with wild mushroom, however this was not case. Veal Chop Capicciosa was also ordered, luckily this dish was good. Overall, the service was poor except when it was time to swipe my credit card for the bill. The food was too inconsistent for me to return.

first time visit — food was excellent, service as well. All staff was very pleasant, helpful and knew the menu well. Will definitely be back! Parking lot in back is a plus as well.

Classic upscale menu, eager to please service and nice food. Good neighborhood place but not sure I see Delvina as a destination restaurant at these price points. A short drive away you’ll find places I believe are superior including Demora, Locale, Sear or maybe Axia. My veal chop was good but served naked on the plate accompanied with nothing. Steak ordered at our table was decent. My wife’s red snapper was ‘just ok’ according to her. Appetizers were all delicious… burrata cheese, clams, variety of salads… nobody in our party of five adults and our 13 yr old foodie daughter was unhappy with any appetizer served! If not willing to drive outside of immediate Cresskill area, probably can’t do better and won’t be disappointed.

What a find a local Italian restaurant with excellent food, a full bar and nice service. our salads were excellent(mixed green salad; beet salad) and we went out on a limb and my husband had the filet mignon on the bone(excellent); i had the veal chop(excellent) and my mom had a filleted bronzino(excellent). the side of pasta was delicious.

Such a wonderful experience! Just had a lovely lunch there. Went with my elderly parents who don’t get out much because it’s easier to stay in. My mother wanted eggplant parm which is not on the menu. No problem, they made it for her and took into account her request for the skin to be left on. The owner couldn’t be nicer. We laughed with him and had a wonderful afternoon. We haven’t laughed and enjoyed time out like this in a very long time. The food was delicious, and the service and level of attention was amazing! Thank you!

Delicious, affordable italian cuisine with an attentive staff and a nice wine list. A great spot for an enjoyable night out without breaking the bank.

One thing amazing about restaurants in the NY area is the service. You are treated like a king. This place is no exception. I had the bone in veal chop. Omg. it was great. Would highly recommend giving this place a try. Oh and the manhattans are delicious too.

The veal here is amazing. Comes cooked in many different ways. The burrata mozzarella is delicious. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The tiramisu is house made and heavenly. Entire dining experience makes you want to come back!

Overall I enjoyed the wine selection the most. even though they didn’t have a wine menu by the glass or a drink menu. it was kind of like«what would you like and I’ll make it for you.» The wines were indeed excellent. They did have a wine by the bottle menu. The maître d’ /greeter was very touchy-feely for our comfort level. While the supporting staff were extremely respectful and attempted to provide excellent service. For a Saturday night though, there were only two other tables occupied. The food came piping hot, just the way I like it. but the discomfort from the touchy-feely maître d’ /greeter contributed to our decision to not return again.

All staffs care about your experience at the restaurant. Super friendly, caring and give great suggestions. Chefs sometimes serve your plates himself which is so awesome! The best local Italian restaurant I have ever been to and I will probably eat their quite often

We went for dinner on Mothers Day. The service was impeccable! Super friendly and warm. The food was positively delicious! I had the homemade pasta pockets filled with wild mushrooms in a pink truffle sauce — it was beyond amazing. The place also has a cool vibe. They had Harry Connick and Michael Buble piped in — it leant to a very NY city kind of feel. They hit it on all notes!!! I will definitely be back soon. Thank you for a memorable evening!

Been here twice with a group of 5 – 6 people. Pros: Very friendly staff, owner comes out and chats with us and is very personable. Food is really good. It’s a BYO right now, although that’s soon to change. On both visits, everyone in our group enjoyed their meals very much. Cons: It was pretty empty both times we went in. Although that helps with getting a table, it’s nice to have a bit of a crowd when you go out. Food portions are a little small. Pasta is cheap. Load it up on the plate. Outside of the small portions, I would definitely go back, and I would have no problem recommending the place to friends & family.

A rather disappointing experience on a recent Saturday night. Pro: The two of us were warmly greeted and seated immediately, with no reservation. Con: Although there were many other available tables, we were seated directly in front of the kitchen entrance. Pro: Afforded time to settle in, enjoy BYOB wine and look over dinner menu. Con: The menu posted in the restaurant’s window is either a lunch menu or dated, but the prices on the current dinner menu were considerable higher than those posted. Additionally, as is the off-putting custom common at far too many establishments, specials are delivered with no prices mentioned.(You know the bill is going to be a surprise if only the specials are ordered, as was the case with our meal. Remember, this is a BYO. The total bill is WITHOUT alcohol charges!) Pro: Service was fairly professional and efficient, though entrees were still served with the annoyingly unprofessional«Who gets?» C’mon. Really? Is it really that hard? Con: Food was below expectation and overpriced: a simple argula salad for $ 12, and Pappaedelle bolognese with obviously frozen peas & way too much pepper for $ 18. Overall, our feeling was that although the owners and servers have created a warm & inviting environment, with a bit less pretension, prices more in line with competitive area Italian eateries, and more attention to the quality of the food would increase a rather disappointing two and a half star rating. (Interesting to note(and quite coincidentally) that the recent Record newspaper two star review(NOT posted in Delvina’s window) mentions several of these very same concerns. Perhaps the owners didn’t bother to read it, or simply don’t care to address these recurring issues. Just sayin’!)

I have been to all the previous restaurants and i am happy to say I thoroughly enjoyed this new addition to the neighborhood! The food was great, service was great, family owned and operated! I like that! Right now a BYOB and I hope they can keep it that way as more people will flourish to a neighborhood jewel like this! Buona apetite

Been there twice so far and both times were great. The same owners(or family?) as Café Italiano and Cliffs Steakhouse in Englewood Cliffs. The first time i had the pappardelle with mushrooms & truffle oil — amazing. Second time i had the potato crusted sea bass(or halibut –it was a few weeks ago, and it may have been a special) and it was so good. That night i noticed the chef from the Cliffs so I’m not surprised because although Cliffs is a steakhouse, their fish is always great, true of most great steakhouses I suppose. So far they haven’t gotten their liquor license yet — a problem caused by the previous owners from what I understand but the bar space looks nice so when they get that going it should be great. Until then it’s nice to have a byob with such good food. As for the location — the address is in Cresskill but it’s right next door to Sam Dan(turkish place, not a fan) which is in Closter. Owners and waiters are great too, more European-like service where they actually care if you like the food as if they have a vested interest in it, more than just working there, if that makes sense. Also the dining room is somewhat dark, but in a good way, if you like that type of atmosphere.

Great service and great food. Goat cheese salad was excellent and Bronzino was seasoned to perfection. Pasta was homemade and reasonably priced. Currently BYOB, but they are getting their liquor license soon. Wait staff was very professional and accommodating. This place will become become one of my standbys.
