I can’t believe they spent so much money to «upgrade» this place. Oooh, fish painted on the walls… wow. The way the schedule is set up is ridiculous. Unless you want to wake up before the sun, there are only 2 – 3 hour long time frames in which one can sit and enjoy the hot tub and sauna, that is, IFTHEYAREOPEN. Why bother putting in new facilities if they aren’t going to be utilized to the fullest? I really don’t like how the hot tub is RIGHTNEXT to the pool. I believe this is why they close it during public swim times, which is not okay. Why can’t a parent relax in the hot tub while their child plays on the waterslide? Oh yeah, because the people who redesigned this place have probably never been to a pool. There is no way to go outside to get fresh air, and after sitting in a sauna for a while, fresh air is key. The best they could do is put HOT showers next to the pool so you can have a quick rinse and jump in, as long as you’re not disturbing whatever exercise class is happening, because you can’t ever just sit in the pool. The hot tub jets feel like being poked in the back by a sasquatch finger. They don’t bubble like jets are supposed to. It’s not relaxing. It’s not even hot. The showers are hotter than the hot tub. This place is a joke. AND they want $ 4 every time you come in! Try adding an exercise room, put the hot tub and sauna out on the patio where they belong, fix your schedule and you will have a regular customer… but until then, I’m not giving you a dime.

This is an amazing public pool, I can’t believe no one has reviewed it yet! There are beautiful, vibrant murals of whales and other sea creatures painted on two of the walls. The others are glass, so you can swim in comfort with a great view of Crescent City’s bay. There is a swimsuit spinner in the locker room, nice showers with shampoo/soap provided, and plenty of lockers. The pool is large, clean but not over chlorinated, plenty of room to swim. There is also an awesome water slide if swimming is not enough for you! It’s been a while since I’ve been there, so with that as a caveat… the only negative thing about the pool was the attitude of some of the life guards. They were very humorless and energetic about rule enforcement. We were cautioned for bouncing 3 times on the diving board when the rules clearly stated that 2 bounces were the limit. Still, this is a 5 star pool!
