Had the pulled pork sandwich. I didn’t enjoy it. Too much fatty meat. Too much bar b que sauce just thrown on the pork & not cooked in slowly. Second time there to eat and did not enjoy the food again.

I just remembered why I haven’t been back here in over a year… First off, our waitress seemed like it was her first time dealing with the public. No personality. Secondly, we get our food(which was delicious). I got one of the specials Chicken ala Rose *chicken rotellini with penne in vodka sauce. My husband orders the stuffed flounder. Miss Personality asks if he wants melted butter for his to which he replies yes please. She leaves and for 10 minutes I watch her come over and clear the table next to us, then walk to the other side of the restaurant and back again then stare into space. Finally a light bulb appears above her head and she comes back with the butter. Plops it on the table, hubs says thank you, she walks away with no response. Thirdly, the whole time this is going, the table next to us is a middle aged couple. Their waitress must’ve been related to them in some way. She literally stood there the whole time talking loudly next to my hubs ear. She would walk away for a second to check her table then boom right back to yapping. If we wanted an annoying voice in our ear all night, we would’ve brought our kids! What we hoped would be a pleasant night out by ourselves turned into, «Hurry up and eat some food so we can get the Hell out of here!» Happy Valentine’s Day! Ugh!

Very comfortable, rustic and cozy place not far from the Howling Wolves Farm which we were visiting today. There were 8 of who turned up at lunchtime on a Sunday without calling ahead. We were seated promptly. The service was very good although it was a little slow(but the placed was packed). The menu was your typical luncheon fare with some specials but the food was excellent. Portions were large but not the prices. I would definitely return here.

We hunted on Unilocal for a place to eat dinner with drinks near the Jackson Outlets. Glad we found the Plumsted Grill! A bit of a wait, a bit noisy but what a great place! I had blue cheese dressing with my salad and it was definitely home made, nice and chunky! My wife ordered the 10 oz filet and I ordered the full rack of ribs — both were great! Highly recommend for a good casual place with good and large servings of food at a reasonable price!

Set back off the road, on rural Rt 539, in Cream Ridge, it might be easy to dismiss this woodsy outpost as just another nondescript NJ eatery & tavern. That would be your mistake. NJ needs a lot more restaurants like the Plumstead Grill. Simple but delicious food. No fru fru stuff here. But don’t expect mounds of greasy junk food either. Think comfort food, great(HUGE) salads, and pub fare, all prepared by a chef — not a «cook». Service is excellent. Stopped in for lunch the other day with a friend who is on a low salt diet, and of course I am gluten intolerant(#highmaintenancemen), but our server quickly and politely accommodated both of us. Nice, and something you might not expect out here in the Pine Barrens. My chef salad could easily have served two hungry people. I took half home, and I was full. All the ingredients are fresh, and the dressings all homemade. My cup of navy bean soup tasted like Mom used to make. Perfect for a cold afternoon. I love the décor of this place as well. It’s a giant cabin/lodge, complete with fireplace. I will definitely be back in the evening to check out dinner, and perhaps some of the live music. If you’re anywhere near Cream Ridge — perhaps taking the«back route» to AC on 539 — I highly recommend the Plumstead Grill. Good hearty food at a great price!

We have been here about a dozen times, although the food is delicious, the service is atrocious! We usually sit at the bar and the bartenders are more interested in cleaning glasses and doing sidework then attending to their guests. I hate to write such a bad review but buyer beware! I’m so sorry, but they’re very unapologetic about their bad, I’m sorry, horrible service. To make it clear I am only talking about the bar.

Went there for my first time. Place is decorated nicely and has a cabin like atmosphere. Not many booths it’s normally a table sitting. We were seated right away, luckily we must have came at a good time! Place is a little small, glad we didn’t have to wait. Fried calamari was a bit different than what we expected, definitely far from bad tho! We’re not used to getting the whole bodies. We also got a chicken parm sandwich and veal parm dinner. Veal parm dinner could have fed 3, it was so good! Just thought their tomato sauce coulda used a bit of tweaking. Chicken parm sandwich was huge, and the fries were good, priced at 10 $. Veal dinner was 21 $ and included a salad. Portion size was definitely more than expected. Even the side salad was priced nice at 4 $. However, we were a bit curious why the sides weren’t displayed on a paper, woulda made our ordering a bit easier as opposed for waiting to hear them belted out all at once. Service was great. We had a younger girl who checked up regularly which was nice because we needed a few things here and there. Really makes the world of difference when your server is nice and cares about your needs! One server on the way out seemed a bit annoyed when we had to squeeze through but she could have been having an off day! Overall I would definitely recommend.

I would have given Plumsted Grill five stars because the food was outstanding, but our waitress was super snippy and the service was extraordinarily slow. I like the ambience of the place. It’s a beautiful restaurant with dark wood panels and high beams on the ceiling. The bar area looks gorgeous as well. Our waitress I think was just a bit overwhelmed with the number of tables she had to attend to, but we couldn’t place our orders until 30 mins after we sat down. Then we waited another 30 mins to get our soups/salads and bread for the table, which was unfortunate. I think the restaurant being so crowded on a Wednesday evening is a testament to the quality of the food. However, when the food did arrive, it was fantastic. I had the French onion soup with the dinner special of eggplant rollitini and penne vodka. Even the table bread was delicious, especially dipped into my soup. The soup had lots of perfectly melted cheese on top and was filled with onions and soaked croutons inside. My entrée was a huge portion, it was 2.5 meals for me! The three eggplant rollitinis had a crunchy texture on the ends which was a wonderful surprise. The penne vodka was an excellent pairing, but the portion of the pasta was enough to be its own meal. I wish I could have tried a dessert because the desert me I looked so promising, but I was so stuffed. I would come here again just to try another item off the menu, but I would hope the service would be a bit more timely next time.

I’ve visited the Plumbstead many times for late lunches, dinner and special get togethers with friends and family. With its rustic wood paneling, deer antlers and neon beer signs mounted throughout, the restaurant has an extra special warm feeling in the cooler months when they have the fireplace blazing in the main dining room. Our visit this time was on our way home from the Jersey shore. We chose to sit in the bar area, which has 30 stool and 10 tables. Unfortunately, they only had 1 bartender to take care of the bar area and the dining room. We both had the fish and chips. The fish was cooked to a golden brown and was crunchy. The fries were like hand-cut steak fries. We both enjoyed the food, drinks and a great conversation with an older couple we struck up a conversation with. You really need to add this restaurant to your Unilocal bookmarks to visit when you’re in the area!

More than anything, you go to the Plumsted Grill, for the ambiance. The food is okay. You’re not going to leave here thinking, my GOD that was the best chicken marsala that I’ve ever had! But, you will have a good time there. The interior is adorable — it’s a cabin! It’s clean, has a warm cozy feel, without being small. The bartenders and wait staff are always the best. Super welcoming, very smiley and witty. It’s a home-town kind of a bar and grill. They have decent live music, yummy bar eats and great drinks. I dig it.

Cool atmosphere, large portions of food. Seems to be understaffed bc our waitress was running around like crazy. Lots of beer selections. We ordered french onion soup, pork chops and lobster tail. All pretty decent but nothing special.

In for dinner on sat night this group of 4. Onion soup was good. Steak, cheese burger, scallops, and pork chops where all good. Waitress seemed to have a chip on here shoulder all night. We decided to stay an drin K at the table as the bar was pack all night and didn’t seem to happy with that. Band was good and not to loud. Older crowd for the most part.

The place is ok. They were great a couple years ago when they first opened and we would come 2 times a week. After a couple years it was sold. Since then the food quality has diminished. The menu has not changed, with the exception of the addition of some greek items, which is kind of odd since it is an American Bar and Grille. I really wish this place got into craft beers, but they have all the standard beverages. It has a loyal following of locals. We used to reserve the fireplace room for my grandmothers birthday every year, then the year they sold, we show up for our reservation and they moved us because the owner put his friends/family in the room even though we had a reservation! I would have left but it was up to my Grandmother and she wanted to stay. You will have a good first and 2nd experience, but it gets boring when there is no change in the menu items. They have a specials menu, however i feel the ‘specials’ are food that is about to expire and they need to get rid of it. Worth trying if in the area. If you sit at the bar and are not a regular, you will get looks… Uncomfortable… Recommend sitting at a table around the bar or table service to avoid this… I am officially the Duke here with 3 check ins. Downgraded to 2 stars now due to being avoided by the manager specifically after the server told him twice to see me about the price of the clams on a half shell i got. Not coming back here ever.
